Never had a lawyer experience before, but they seem reasonably priced. Very friendly and prompt to explain processes!

***WARNING: AVOID THIS “FIRM”***
In my opinion, they are worse than crooks. They were paid $3500 upfront and I had absolutely nothing to show for it. They were virtually impossible to get on the phone when I called and rarely returned phone calls when I left a message. On top of doing virtually nothing after taking $3500 from me, they then mysteriously claimed I owed them an additional $4000+!!!! I thought it was a joke - it was truly laughable because they never even earned the first $3500. When I refused to pay these crooks, they actually SUED ME in court.
I hired and paid $3,500 for them to do a job which they failed miserably at and then to rub salt in that wound, all of the sudden they mysteriously claimed I owed them AN ADDITIONAL $4,000+ and then to kick me in the wound they just poured salt in, they sued me! They don’t even deserve the one-star rating I gave but there is no lower option.

I hired McKinney and Associates for a very long and hard divorce. I live out of state so all my contact was done over the phone of by email. But Brett was an amazing lawyer. He fought long and hard for me and we won everything I asked for. Now I can start my life as a single mother of 5 away from all the issues in Colorado. Brett was very easy to work with and explained everything to me in a way I could understand. I highly recommend Brett at McKinney and Associates.

Thank you for everything you and your staff did for me. I was kept informed during the entire process. I had no idea that the states minimum limit for under insured and uninsured insurance wasn't enough to cover all expenses until this hit and run. My main goal was to make sure all medical bills and attorney fees were covered by my insurance company. I wasn't looking for or excepting to get anything in return do to the limited funds. To my surprise I did. You all are amazing. Thank you again.

As a Air Force veteran who fought for his country I URGE you if you are a veteran or civilian don’t waste your time. I finally got my daughter mostly thanks to the judge with no real help from these guys at all. You are definitely better off not paying 15-16k for nothing. Brothers and arms and civilians stay far away from this unprofessional firm.Call to make a payment they will always be there after your charged unfairly. Call to speak to anybody you definitely want get them on the phone. Kris’s people skills are complete trash. You won’t here from anyone here about getting your case actually handled but when they send you a bill you will get all the conversation you need. Trust me when I say that any 5 star reviews are from lawyers that work here to boost the rating. The real people are the ones who left one star.

Brett has been amazing in helping us through a DHS issue with a mother who is an active drug user. Having to go to Canon City for proceedings made it difficult to retain an attorney. Brett really cares about the future of these children and has been so amazing in helping their father navigate at very difficult and situation. The end goal is keeping these kids safe and giving them a great future. McKinny & Associates (specifically Brett Chalmers) really understands this and has fought hard to keep these kids safe!!

I would not recommend this law firm one bit. Hired one of their lawyers and half way through our case he left the law firm. Paid 3000 out to him for him to up and leave. Which left us to hire another attorney with their firm and pay a new retainer, along with new fees for this new attorney to do his readings on our case. Both attorneys were never available when we needed them and being military and deployable they never were a willing to work with me. Never let us know anything on our case, did a half ass job on every occasion and didn't fight for us. Seemed like they just wanted to get the case finished as quickly as possible and get their money. Having to go back to court to fix the problems that they caused, I would most definitely not recommend McKinney and Associates to anyone.

I went through a divorce and used a different attorney. I won't get into it, but I was not satisfied. I wanted to renegotiate the situation with my child later on. Since my last experience was so bad, I was going to represent myself in court and get some legal advice from a Colorado Springs attorney. I spoke to Nathan McKinney and realized I needed a real attorney. I retained his firm's services and was completely satisfied. The paralegals kept in touch with me throughout the entire process and I had the outcome I wanted. I recommed this attorney to Colorado Springs residents dealing with divorce or child custody or child support.
