Horrible experience that I value as a hardcore learning experience. I advise potential clients to have collateral and multiple streams of income, because that seems to be a major force in my interaction with Mr. Hecht and his colleague Mr. Hash. In addition, I felt that I was solely used as an extra source of income without any legit care for both I and my child and premeditated no intention to be long term on my case. I was consistently kept out of the loop on significant information on my case, had pertinent information withheld that I only learned from a disagreement with Mr. Hash. Mr. Hash made a significant mistake on my case and instead of rectifying the matter he let it ALL fall on me fully aware of the severe hardship it caused. I eventually sent them an email informing both that I had to part ways due to hardship and instead of professionally calling and/or emailing me they sent an email and included all parties/opposing counsel that they were no longer representing me as if I fired them without any advance notification to me. It was tacky and unprofessional. Thankfully, at the end I was victorious on my case and vindicated via the grace/mercy of God and an awesome new attorney.

This Mickey Mouse team is very unorganized and cannot even put paperwork work together correct the first or second time, referring to me has “the wife” on a legal document and saying that it was not a big deal. I don’t know about everyone else out there but I sure wouldn’t use this team to represent me in any court of law, I hope the ex-wife chooses someone better next time!
Side note to the Mickey Mouse club - I still have not received any finalized paperwork. How hard is it to send an email?

I called Mr. Hecht regarding child support and child custody. Watch out for this guy, he robs you blind. I paid the initial retainer fee and, had a few phone calls and then he boldly handed a me bill for $20,000 that I had to talk him down to $15,000.
He kept telling me that the wife attorney is trying to make money off of this process but I learned that the other attorney only charged my ex $5,000 total. Attorneys are supposed to send you a bill after the retainer fee is spent but he never did and I was under the impression that the bill would a little over the retainer fee but he sure surprised me.
He charged me for the deposition that did not happen and also for studying if I had certain rights or not, in other words I paid him for something he should have already known as divorce attorney.
Don't let this happen to you and make sure to get a weekly statement from him otherwise you'll be in for an unpleasant surprised like I was.

Ed Hecht has been an incredible help during a very difficult divorce. My ex had tried to convince me that I only needed a lawyer to review the agreement that he drafted, and that I should immediately sign. Ed rewrote the entire document to protect my interests in every possible way, addressing areas that I didn't know needed addressed, and followed up with me frequently to ensure I was comfortable with the process before signing anything at all. Ed Hecht of Hecht Family Law was efficient and conscientious. After a very bad experience with another lawyer I called Ed on the phone and then followed up with him in person the following day. After about a three hour consultation I was back to work. Ed and his team put all the paperwork together for my review within two days. After one or two minor changes we were set and within 40 days of first meeting with Ed, my divorce was final. The thing I really like about Ed is that he shares facts regarding the law and my personal situation, not horror stories about past clients. While a divorce is a difficult situation, if you work with Ed, at least the legal portion will be something you don't have to worry about.

I have worked with Attorney Hecht and his team and find them to be very knowledgeable, personable, attentive with excellent follow through. They communicate very effectively and get the job done. I would recommend them for any law matters.

They cant even answer simple questions about a GA divorce and why it was worded a specific way. Refused to even listen to the complete story and blamed TX on a GA divorce when TX had nothing to do with the issue I was having. I told him the divorce was in 1996 and I needed to know why something was worded the way it was. The attorneys answer was "I dont know what was going on in GA that long ago". So they dont do any type of research either. I asked if there was a law library I could reach out to and he said to contact TX. Again this was about a GA divorce and I would expect any GA attorney to be able to answer my question or at least be somewhat helpful. Mr Hecht was not helpful at all.

Attorney Hetch is very professional and always on time. Very fast service with my uncontested divorce. I do recommend him and will use his services again!
