I have had a long and painful divorce process. I never thought I would have to go through something like this, and I hope those of you who may be reading this never find yourself in a divorce situation. My divorce went on for almost two years. I was represented by a good and competent attorney, though I can’t say the same about my wife’s attorney. We seemed to have a fair-minded judge, though it seemed to be difficult to get matters scheduled in her court. Throughout this long process, I can honestly say that the best part of it was going through mediation and reaching an agreement without having to go through a trial. The judge appointed Steve Watkins as our mediator. Divorce sucks. It just does. But luckily having a steady hand to steward you through the complicated process makes it possible to get through. I have called Steve Watkins many times and I always have to leave a message. Plus you can't leave a message on his phone, only his secretary's phone. I believe he personally has never returned one phone call I made to his office; he has only responded with text messages and emails. He is very unprofessional in my opinion.
