I am an attorney in San Diego, CA and worked together as Co-Counsel on a serious personal injury accident that occurred in Sacramento. Mr. Davis represented the passenger in our vehicle who was from phoenix and who died from her injuries at the scene of the accident. I represented the driver of our vehicle who survived the crash but had major orthopedic and internal injuries. I worked closely with Mr. Davis on this litigation which eventually resulted in a multi million dollar settlement. I found Mr. Davis’ litigation and negotiating skills to be excellent and the key reason for our very large settlement. Mr. Adam Davis is a deeply unprofessional attorney. I contacted him for services related to a malpractice case, knowing that the case may not be large enough for his practice to justify taking, but figuring it couldn’t hurt to ask since I was hurt more than in an extremely blatant way by a healthcare provider. He went back and forth in his desire to take the case due to its financial size (understandable), and asked me for more information and records, which I was able to obtain just a few days after his request.

I called to let him know I had obtained all records from three doctors, photos, etc. He told me to set an appointment to sit down with him in his office, at which point I reminded him (as I had previously brought up twice) that I am severely disabled and cannot sit, stand, or walk, but I could send all paperwork and photographs and call or videoconference if that was acceptable.

Me Davis immediately started yelling at me “WHY! WHY!”. I was shocked. I began to explain the reason why was, as I had stated on more than one occasion, I’m severely disabled and not capable of ambulating. He then yelled that only a handful of people ever asked this of him and they were quadriplegic. While I am not completely paralyzed I am even less mobile than quadriplegics as I cannot use a chair. I have a serious and legally recognized condition and have been legally disabled for years. I attempted to explain this as Mr. Davis continued to raise his voice and cut me off, yelling, “FIND ANOTHER ATTORNEY, I DON’T WANT YOUR CASE”.

I attempted in a calm voice to explain that of course he wasn’t required to take any case he didn’t want, and I understood if he didn’t want mine, but it was shocking and cruel to yell at me for the supposed infringement of being severely disabled. As if I were wasting his time or misleading him somehow by being both seriously disabled and also needing legal aid. I do not know why he would behave this way.

While I attempted to express that I would find another attorney but the way he was yelling at me for being disabled was cruel and wrong, he hung up on me. I sent him a message repeating what I said over the phone, that he was under no obligation to take any case, but his cruelty and discrimination was uncalled for. I have yet to hear back.

If you are severely ill or disabled, this is the type of treatment you can expect from Mr. Davis. I would also venture that Mr. Davis seems to have a short temper and be quite ruled by it, which is unlikely to be advantageous in legal proceedings.

If you’re looking for an attorney who will respect you or treat you humanely, look elsewhere.

UPDATE: Mr. Davis has suddenly received three new 5 star reviews, all of which have been posted rapidly within a 24 hour period. If you look at his older ratings versus the ones just written up, you’ll see more consistency in those opinions. I think the rapid 24 hour posting after so few reviews over years suggests manipulation.
