I had the opportunity to file a chapter 7 and later convert to ch 13 and he did not tell me or provide me with best possible solution to avoid having to refile my case and be in same situation. I could not be happier with the service I received from Megan Baumer on my legal case. After an unfortunate experience with a lawyer who bailed out at the last minute, Megan picked up the ball, started from scratch with only a couple weeks to prepare the whole case. The process of moving through a bankruptcy is difficult and scary enough for most, and while declaring bankruptcy should be a last resort, and one to be taken very seriously, the counsel you choose to aide you in navigating through this life changing event should be more than competent enough to guide you through what can be very murky waters and also instill confidence and hope of a new day once you have completed the journey. I am a professional, a business owner, and it was a difficult business situation that created my downfall. I started my bankruptcy journey with a different recommended law firm, and had a Very different experience. It was a female bankruptcy attorney, and I thought, looking for anything comfortable and familiar at this stressful time that being female myself we would at least have that in common. That much was true, but didn’t matter much. Communication with that firm was incredibly difficult. Emails were frowned upon & phone conversations had to be scheduled. I was going through one of the toughest journeys of my life and thought I would never have to walk into a bankruptcy attorneys office, but yet there I was in the lobby of Michael Baumer's Law Office. My hands were sweaty and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I felt shame and embarrassment that I had to seek such counseling. I was raised by parents who's faith was the center of our family and they were both strong ethical blue collar workers that taught me to live within your means and always take care of your debts. They are no one else's but yours. My late husband felt very strong that your debt is your debt and you manage it and take care of it.
