Jeff Thompson is an amazing, hardworking and very knowledgeable lawyer and I would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for excellent representation. Thank you again Jeff for all your hard work!
About me and my journey.
It didn’t go well,
So I needed an attorney. ♀️
I was in a small hurry,
And under much stress.
I guess I was speeding ♀️
My life is a mess.
It wasn’t my fault.
My ex is to blame.
Everything is his fault.
It is quite a shame.
But Jeff to the rescue,
He saved me from court!!
I’m forever in debt
To his concern and support! ❤️
Jeff Thompson is the best! He will take time out of his busy schedule to help anyone with anything:):)
If you’re going through child custody, divorce.. save time and energy and hire Anastasia Cowan. She’s a child welfare law specialist (1 out of 22 lawyers in N.C.).
My child custody case is quite unique. The other lawyers didn’t grasp that.
I’m grateful to God for sending Anastasia my way. She’s straightforward. She’ll tell you what you need to hear and will be tough on you if she needs to so you know what to expect and she’ll come up with a strategy to get you what you want. She doesn’t waste your time or money talking about everything and anything just to get billable hours. She focuses on your goal and will fight for you to get you what you want.
What I like the most about her is she’s open minded and where some lawyers can’t see a way, she’ll make a way. Her creativity is definitely a big asset. In court she doesn’t let the opposing counsel get away with anything. She’s calm yet fierce. All praise to God, I was able to get a temporary parenting agreement from the judge that was way better than what everyone thought. I’m grateful that I had Anastasia on my side to fight for me.
If your child custody case is not unique, I’d still hire her. You might get more than is expected. If she’s that good at winning difficult and unique child custody cases, i wonder what she’ll do with standard, typical cases?
She’s easy to talk to, super fast at getting back to you via email (I love that about her), compassionate and creative.
I’m grateful for having her represent me. Keep up the good work Anastasia! Thanks !
I will recommend him to all of my friends and family. He is truly an asset to the firm.
Thank You Anastasia!
dealt with in my 64 years of life. I would highly recommend him. He is an asset to this community.

If you need representation who would be straight to the point with the facts of your case, give real expectations, is cognoscente of the law, has a skillful presentation of your case in the courtroom then Mr. Thompson needs to be your representation.
Having Jeff Thompson as our legal representative, meant having our case in adept and trustworthy hands. I would highly recommend Arnold & Smith, specially Jeff Thompson, to anyone seeking legal representation that is fair, honest, intelligent and representation that will keep your best interest and unique needs at the forefront. Should the situation arise, I would not hesitate to seek representation from Arnold & Smith (Jeff Thompson) again.
Pete represented me with diligence, vigor and professionalism throughout the process. I always knew what to expect during my case. Pete seemed to always know what the opposing counsel was going to do before they did it. One of Pete’s distinguishing characteristics is his easy going attitude and ability to sit in a room, talk with you and make you feel as though you’d been friends for many years. However, he aggressively pursued every legal option against the opposing counsel to achieve the best possible outcome for me. I am very happy with the settlement that was reached.
I trusted Pete Mcardle and you can too.
The staff that I have dealt with are knowledgeable and professional and great human beings. If I could change only one thing, it would be the have a more timely response to calls and being kept informed of progress. But a better defensive criminal lawyer you'll be hard pressed to find.
I read many reviews for many lawyers online before coming to Brad Smith, almost everything positive. This was extremely important to me as this was my first offense DWI, which stemmed from my actual offense; a $25 fee traffic violation. I had a huge government job riding on this case that I had been training for months along with online testing that spanned the course of a year. My incident happened two days before my acceptance review, which was postponed upon the outcome.
I was nervous, alone, and took up a second night job for six months in order to pay the amount asked for (working 7 days a week). The only reason I am giving one star is because A) I have to to review and B) Brad's secretary gave timely and full responses to my questions.
I only met with Brad two or three times and each time he seemed to talk down to me and never said anything that inspired any hope. The case was delayed each month for about a year. Months where my only friend/witness (and I) would have to take time off from work (beyond what PTO would cover) and show up in a suit only to delay to next month. I felt so guilty I would buy my friend lunch after the wait as a way of apology.
On the day of the trial, it went very quickly and I did not say a word. It was not dismissed. I was convicted, and spent an almost unprecedented amount of money paying court costs and other fees required. This was all while my license was removed, making any transportation an embarrassing ask, especially any court mandated appointments that HAD to be made. Brad's words to me after the trial? "Man, what happened in there?" I still do not know, I was hoping you could have told me. Then afterward he had the audacity to tell me that he knew of people who had continued their careers in my desired field despite this "setback." I have searched. Never found them.
My job prospects? Gone. I was told to not return to any one in that sector even though my test scoring was above and beyond satisfactory requirements. A year or two later I tried and was laughed out and told I would be lucky if they let me sweep carrier decks.
Words cannot express my severe disappointment with asking Brad to represent me.
From what I researched, Brad is known for having an excellent track record in getting the best results for cases that he represents. He is extremely intelligent, well spoken, and highly committed to his clients. He, his Paralegal and staff were very professional, communicated well, gave excellent direction, and were easy to work with.
Brad and his staff made me feel very comfortable, respected and reassured. I also found Brad to be a great communicator, extremely thorough and well prepared with my case. I am extremely satisfied with the results regarding the outcome of my case. I highly recommend Brad for legal representation and know you will be happy with his services as well.
Then it was on and he went after him with guns blaring. We had a judge that is typically what they call a 50/50 judge and that is what my ex wanted I believe due to child support reasons. Attorney McArdle beat all odds and my daughter is still with me the majority of the time. I am so grateful for what he did for us. I thought the word failure meant something stops or is not working. Then I became a paramedic and realized if someone is in kidney failure or heart failure that it has not stopped working completely. I looked up the definition of the word and it merely means, not meeting it’s full potential. Attorney McArdle is the opposite of what this means. I believe he was designed to be in a courtroom and is living up to his full potential. He sat there and listened and wrote notes when the opposing party was testifying, then when it was his turn to ask the questions I was amazed at how he turned and twisted every word they said to expose them for the lies they told and downplay the dirt they attempted to throw at me. It was like something out of a movie. I will always want Attorney McArdle with me if I ever have to be in a courtroom again. He is truly amazing at what he does.
Matt, Ashley, and Joanna were spot on when it came to filing papers and meeting deadlines, communicating new issues, and guiding me in the right direction of what I needed to do. This was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with, and they were with me every step of the way! I got exactly what I wanted in custody with my daughter, and we settled out of court in mediation.
I consulted with at least a half a dozen different attorneys before I found Arnold & Smith. Do yourself a favor and save time and money, go directly to Arnold & Smith with your legal needs! You can trust them!!

My custody case treaded into unchartered territory. They researched, presented and ultimately won the case which most told me was not possible. I thank them and highly recommend them.
Pete provided me excellent perspective and advice during my marital separation preparations. During a previous separation, I had retained a different attorney so I had experience with another attorney to contrast with my recent work with Pete. My experiences with Pete was vastly different from the previous attorney.
Pete has incredible experience and his advice turned out to be exactly correct. And during our separation negotiations, Pete's representation was critical. He provided the perfect argument at the most decisive moments of the negotiation and provided sane resolutions to issues that seemed insurmountable.
He helped my family get through one of the most difficult matters we have ever faced. Brad’s knowledge of the law and the legal system, along with his compassion, positive attitude, and confidence, made our case run as smoothly as it possibly could have.
Brad put us at ease right from the beginning. He responded to every one of our phone calls and answered all of our questions. He knew our case inside-and-out.
His performance in court was stellar. In fact, as we left the courtroom, I heard someone say about Brad, “If I ever need a criminal defense attorney, I’m calling that guy.”
In short, Brad Smith provided us with the best legal services that we could have asked for. I would recommend him to anyone.
_______
Btw, our case got dismissed.
Also, I’d like to add that that Brad’s paralegal, Kathryn (Katie), did an outstanding job as well, and we greatly appreciate all of her hard work on our case. Many thanks to both!
