My attorney Richard Harper was professional and prompt. I never felt rushed. Another positive is that he has a psychology degree, which allows him to really grasp the nuances of people's behavior. The only downside to Stange is that they seem to have gotten too big and thus have a turnover rate that is higher than smaller firms, (our first attorney quit and took another job two business days before our first settlement hearing) which is why I only rated Stange with 4 stars. Mr. Harper made time for us on a weekend, allowing us to get him up to speed. He did great in court, especially on such short notice. Richard Harper is a true gentleman who doesn't need fire and brimstone in order to be heard by the judge, his former time working for the prosecuting attorney is a bonus. I recommend Mr. Harper very much.

The corporate office is to disconnected from the local offices. You are required not to go over 40 hrs per week even by 1 minute or you will get a hateful phone call from corporate if you do. The local attorney's are great to work with, but corporate makes things harder than they need to be. You are encouraged to push the firm in your off time but of you answer anything online that the firm doesn't like, you might just get fired for doing so. I wouldn't suggest working at this firm, if you've ever enjoyed being a paralegal. If you do, you just might end up hating what you do and NEVER wanting to do it again.

Great family law firm

My wife's review was spot on. After multiple lawyers, 4x the original $ estimate, and taking 6 months (originally told 6 weeks) I wouldn't recommend them at all. They cost me about 8k to file a simple termination request for child support for children that were all of age. And I had to call every step of the way. This would likely still be going on if they didn't get sick of me calling. It is firms like this that give attorneys a bad name. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

Beware of attorney turnover. It took 4 times what they estimated to do our case because we went through so many attorneys (which we never found out about till they lost several weeks each time till another attorney took over) and ended up paying to fill in each of them thus running up the bill. Which I might add they are superb at making sure they take. Not only was it way more expensive then it should have been but they took so long we lost our tax refund and even though it was not owed, six months later we still don't have it back. They are awful!!!!! No wonder they can't keep attorneys.My husband was the client and he was afraid you'd just keep charging more and never get done. We still haven't gotten our tax refund. What can possibly be done. UPDATE. We lost our tax refund because they took so long the federal GOV. gave it to the supposedly custodial parent who gave none of it to the college student daughter. Way to go law firm. Glad we paid you. It cost more with your help than if we'd have just waited for the kid to get of age.

Kevin O'Reiley has been an amazing attorney through what I consider a not so pretty divorce. He's extremely professional, yet down to earth and personable. He always has my children's and my best interest at hand. I never feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing him anytime I'd call with questions. He's an excellent lawyer that gets the job done. I'd recommend him to anyone.

I was honoured to have Aryn Goempel as my lawyer. She was on top of things and made me feel comfortable through it all. She answered any questions I had.

DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS FIRM. I hired Stange Law Firm in February of 2015 for a paternity case. What I wanted was to simply get a schedule, child support and custody set in place. This ended up costing me $23,242.36 and the case lasted a year and a half. The most infuriating part was finding out that my lawyer with Stange Law Firm never filed the new withholding order. So after 18 months and $23,000, my child's father was paying the same amount although we signed off on something different. They literally did not do their job. Also, all of the reviews stating how they excessively charge your credit card you gave them for a retainer "discount" is true. In addition, like many other reviews I have seen, it is common for lawyers to suddenly quit the firm. My initial lawyer, Adam Shaffer, left in the middle of our case and we were reassigned to Kevin O'Reilly.
It took me finding an excellent lawyer to confirm my suspicions about Stange Law Firm.

UPDATE: I called Stange Law Firm to file a complaint about the withholding order never being filed. I was told that he [the lawyer from the firm] would take care of it and file it free of charge. Two weeks later, it still hasn't been done. I called Stange back and was told that his supervisor said to hold off on taking care of it so they can continue to "review". They told me one thing and did another without even taking the courtesy to call me and let me know.

I used Stange for my divorce. Chad at the Union office was very helpful, the process was actually very easy and went quickly.

Our current attorney at Stange Law has been responsive and knowledgeable. Family law is no doubt often fraught with emotion and the potential for unexpected high risk situations; our case certainly has been and it's important to have a highly competent advocate who is also a good listener and available promptly when you need to speak to them. This has been our experience.

Chelsea Merta, my atty., has been both very supportive and professional. She has explained everything to me and keeps me up to date on how my case is proceeding. I feel very secure navigating the legal procedures with her. I would recommend her services to anybody.

This law firm is like most law firms a firm filled with professional hustlers, who pry on people in an uncomfortable situation. It is better to hire a paralegal to help you do the paperwork and how to navigate through your divorce. These lawyers don't want to work for a client they want to count the hours before you fire them and send you a bill that's it. Same with most lawyers advertising on the internet. If they can't tell you the process of what is exactly going to happen and the steps in specifics walk out the door. I lost money with this law firm because my lawyer Lindsey Balaco just went willy nilly on doing research on me, her client, and never even had a conversation with me. And charged me to get research on me. What the? Just screw these people they're full of it.

This was my first experience in dealing with the lawyer and a law firm. My lawyer Eric Sexton was very helpful with my custody battle. He shared his own experience dealing with his custody battle and as a father I could relate to him and trust him. When I was ready to settle my case Eric suggested we fight for more time with my son and I'm glad I took his advice because we got more time. He was very knowledgable and always a please to talk to on the phone. I'd highly suggest him to anyone!

My divorce was finalized yesterday, May 15th, 2017, after only 4 months. I used Chad Hager in Union, Mo. He and his staff were wonderful throughout the whole process. He answered all my silly questions and never made me feel like I was asking too many. I went into this clueless, and I'm so grateful for all their help. I highly recommend this law firm.

These guys are a joke. The lawyer handling my case didn't protect or provide any meaningful advice. During the initial hearing all he wanted to do was leave. Stay away from these frauds. I would have been more successful going to trial by myself.

As an example of their nickel and dime billing practices: They triple charge you to send the same email, the contents they just charged you to discuss over the phone. They charge you once to send you an email containing a response to the opposing counsel (the response you just got off the phone discussing- that you get charged for), then they charge you to send that same email to the opposing counsel, and charge you a third time for sending the email they just sent to the opposing counsel to inform you they had just sent that email to the opposing counsel -The same email sent three times, billed to your account 3 times.

At the end, I spent over $40k to file and Stange did nothing to protect my interests or provide and guidance as advertised on your website.

Beware before you choose this firm to represent you. They will tell you everything you want to hear and once they have you locked in, they'll take your money until you're left bone dry. You can tell them not to send emails and updates, because they charge for every little thing they do, and when your retainer is gone, they'll threaten to withdraw from your case. I gave $30 thousand dollars to this firm and then they withdrew at the last minute and left me hanging. All I'm saying is beware before you choose this firm. Big firms like this do not equal success. Matthew Wideman was my first lawyer who then left for another firm, and then Chad Hager. Chad doesn't care about your case, he only wants your money. I have every email, bill and letter regarding this corrupt law firm. Trust me, keep looking for a different law firm and you'll be happier in the end.

I was totally satisfied with Chad Hager, and Cassie, they helped me through a rough time. They were both always there when I had a question, when I was upset, or I needed clarification on a problem. DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS LAW FIRM. I initially had my consultation with an attorney I was comfortable with and paid my retainer of $2300 for her to start my case. A week later I was contacted by a different attorney that was going to now be the attorney on my case. They did not ask if I was comfortable with that they just put him on it. In the beginning everything seemed fine, he showed up for a court case of mine and we were there for just two hours with nothing to be done, only for it to be continued. I got an invoice a week after the hearing, mind you I had this attorney only for two weeks, with a total of $4300 in expenses!!! When he didn't do anything! I also tried contacting this particular attorney for two weeks to try and touch base about our court case coming up and not once did he respond!! Then when he did, he told me he had gotten sick... No courtesy email?? I emailed him with a withdrawal notice, stating due to the lack of professionalism on his part and not touching base with me I would like for him to withdraw. Here's the best part. When he put in his withdrawal notice for the court he stated, " The reason to withdraw is because client wouldn't keep in contact and also can't pay her attorney's fees. " Are you kidding me? Also charges for numerous things were doubled and false. So please DO YOURSELF A FAVOR before they put some young pup fresh out of college on your case. They will rob you of your money and try to make you look bad for their personal gain. Good Luck!!
