It’s been years since I attempted to use this awful company. I didn’t think of reviewing back then. I hired them to help with my disability case. The lawyer I was suppose to have, I believe is was Driskill, was great but come the day of the appeal trial, here waltz’s in a man I never met, telling me Driskill couldn’t make it. This “attorney” proceeded to yell at the judge, and make me super uncomfortable. The judge even threatened to hold him in contempt. The judge asked me if I still wanted this man to represent me, and I explained that he wasn’t the attorney I hired and did NOT want him representing me. We scheduled a new hearing and I left. I attempted to get ahold of the original attorney I was suppose to have, and he continued to hang up on me or ignore my calls. Luckily they did it pro-bono so I didn’t have to pay these scam artists anything! If you want to win your case, DO NOT hire these people.

I was referred to Burnett&Driskill from my RA doc. Due to various health issues, each interaction takes longer than normal. At no time, did I ever feel rushed or like they were not listening. If I were a business owner, I would want to know if my staff was unwelcoming, rude, or unkind. I would have to say that every interaction I've had with EVERY staff member of this firm I interacted with has fit those adjectives. I am a business professional in the area who works with multiple law firms in the state of Missouri, and I have never been treated so poorly. I stopped by to introduce myself in hopes of scheduling 15 minutes with the person in charge of vendor decisions, and was told I was not able to stop to even say hello by without an appointment, and needed to call- totally fine, I understand that. Called instead as instructed, and was hung up on in the most unprofessional, terrible way. The staff in person, and over the phone, was absolutely horrendous. If you have money to spend and expect a service with "integrity" as promised by this firm, I would absolutely run for the hills, and take our business elsewhere.

I would advise that in the future, this firm understands and embodies compassion. You never know what another person is going through, and it would appear no one at this firm knows, cares, or understands that. For all they knew, I could have been a client. But at the end of the day, I am a human being, and deserve to be treated as such, and with the same amount of kindness and respect that I show. This is not a difficult concept.

LIES, LIES, LIES!
Waited over a year to get a hearing and lost because Roger Driskill didn't submit the proper paperwork then lied about it. Couldn't even get them to send me a letter to release me so I could seek other counsel. Roger said they mailed me a letter. Called back and was told it was mailed on a certain date and to give it more time. Never got it. Called back and office staff said they never mailed a release letter that I had to request this in writing first. It took 2 months to get released from them.

Just more proof to validate my mistrust in lawyers. Quick interview on the phone and I'm left with the honest belief that lawyers don't exist to help people that actually need the help, they exist to make money off those that have a slam dunk case and could take care of the matter themselves if they tried.
It really makes me feel as if lawyers take easy cases and unnecessarily drag them out as long as possible to justify getting the biggest fee they can while doing the least they can.

No thanks I will continue my search for the rare person that actually learmed about our laws so they could help people. Instead of allowing me to make an appointment so I could speak with an attorney in person and show them my medical records, I was interviewed by a screener who put me on hold for a couple minutes and then came back on the phone with an explanation as lame as the SSA gives when they deny people.
I suggest you end your highly impersonal practice of screening people on the phone because it shows you have no respect for people who call for help and apparently are unworthy of your acknowledgement let alone help.
I have no time for attorneys that have no time to at least show real interest and concern for other human beings until after those people prove conclusively they are someone who can make the firm money.

When I first went here (about 5 years ago) I found everyone to be very nice and they helped me get my disability. But when I went in to be told I was approved the staff member I spoke to kept insisting I try to get disability to go back farther with my pay. I told him 3 times I didn't want to I just appreciated getting what I did and he still pressured me into trying to go for more back pay until I agreed. Then a month later when they wanted me to come in to practice for court someone different spoke to me and told me if I go through with it I could loose my disability all together and would have to give the money back. So again I said I didn't want to and he was ok with that. Then they slapped me with a bill for $500 for the last month that I didn't want to do. It was very frustrating.
