My now significant other and I had to move to another state for work. My wife had been told my 3 other lawyers that she could not win this case and felt defeated. I once met Mrs. Cortez for a job interview. She proceeded to berate me right in front of her employee. She was so incredibly disrespectful that I still remember the experience to this day. I guess she felt like she could get away with treating someone so badly. Be careful with this one.

William has represented our family during an adoption, real estate proceedings and assisted with a bankruptcy as well as a divorce over 10 years ago; all to very satisfactory results.

Attorneys aren't cheap but I feel like William is more than fair and very forthcoming with expected fees.

I saw another review and frankly I feel like this person is being more than deceitful about things and likely didn't get the result they wanted on what sounds like a losing case to start with since they stated "he didn't want to take the case". Some people are just vindictive and refuse to accept responsibility for their actions.

I'll be using William here in a couple weeks on my wife's child custody case.

I have William Hoskovec for over 30 years now and believe him to be a man of high character and integrity. I would not hesitate to recommend him to a friend or family member in all matters of family law.

This is a joke of a family attorney. William is by far if not the worst attorney I ever encountered but the most unethical. He hesitated to take my case, then charged me a lot of money, told me an amount my case would cost then ran up my escrow funds in the background without even letting me know. Finally, when I got my bill it was as much as the entire case would cost and I asked him to explain the charges and to let me know when he is going to invoice me first, well he didn’t like that. He doesn’t want you to know what he is charging you for because it’s bogus.

He doesn’t do what you pay him to do. He will take your money and right before your court he will terminate your contract after he spent all your kids Money and tell you to find representation elsewhere and that you don’t trust him just because you ask for an itemized imvoice. He comes off as very condescending and he is very impatient with kids.

Basically, if you have a few grand to throw to the wind and get nothing in return then hire him, but if your like most people who work really hard for their money and don’t want to be scammed out of it, it’s best you save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. He was recommended to me and this is one recommendation I will never pass on. If I could give this firm 0 stars I would.

In response to the previous review, I can guarantee that the attorneys at Cortez & Hoskovec have never gone to court unprepared. No attorney can state they win every case, but we strive to be prepared for every contingency. Never can our clients legitimately state that their attorney was unprepared and rarely, that the client was not made aware of every possible outcome.

Very poor representation. Ms. Cortez consistently over bills and comes to hearings unprepared. Would not recommend trusting her with your case.

My husband and I at the time were on our third attempt to mediate our divorce.When I met Michelle, I sensed intuitively that she was both ethical and skilled, compassionate and strong. I basically handed my divorce and my trust over to her and she quided me through what was a good and decent ending to my marriage. Michelle was a fierce advocate when she needed to be during my mediation and she took all measures to ensure I was going to be ok when the divorce was over.
