So happy I hired mrs bansmer on my custody case . the staff is great and always there to answer any questions I have. I saw Erica Bansmer ad on the internet ,I'm currently going through a divorce so I thought I would hire her for the rest of the process,during the first meeting she was nice and cordial i felt at ease with hiring her,at the end of the meeting she said she's going to take as long as possible on this divorce I'm new at this so i said ok but still alittle weird why would i want this to take a long time? ok a year passes I'm getting no communication or anything at this point from her so I call and ask what's going on with the divorce,this is with her paralegal they write up a few papers I say I might like his wages garnished I still wasnt sure so her paralegal gives me papers for the tracking of the income hes been giving me,I didnt do it I didnt want his wages garnished after all,we went to court she was never prepared I told the paralegal on different occasions it's like she working more for them then me,I dont know the law she wasnt guiding me or letting me know what's the best route to take,before court I was expressing my feelings about my son how I told him no he cant stay late for a party he was disrespectful so I told him your not coming over until you apologize to me I didnt deserve what he said..Erica says to me I shouldn't have said that to my son about him being disrespectful so I was upset during the court proceedings...a couple months passed I never heard the outcome of the hearing I call they tell me..there is absolutely no communication whatsoever in this office,I was getting upset at this point nothing is being done about my divorce it's like pulling teeth for them to do anything,the paralegal hangs up on me because I never get to talk to the lawyer and there's no communication..they submitted paperwork for the garnishment without my approval or concent I found this out through my ex not my lawyer I get upset she tells me I signed paperwork which I clearly did not ,she said she submitted paperwork with the court I called nothing was filed the only thing I signed was the payment history in the middle of may which her office submitted the garnishment at the end of april..I tried to make it work with this office for what she did I could have saved thousands of dollars she did absolutely nothing I couldn't have done myself which I know now..I believe she's not the right fit she will lie to you unprofessional staff and NO communication,its been 2 years and I'm still not divorced..this has been a horrible experience with this firm ...just do your homework if you ever decide to hire her.Its bad enough to go through a divorce you dont need a bad lawyer too.

I'll start by HIGHLY recommending Erica and her team! The honesty, professionalism and genuine concern for doing what was best for my daughter was even more than I could have expected when I first stepped into her office. I'll admit that initially, I was sure that I had the "upper hand" in my custody case but Erica was direct and clear about the possible outcomes which really helped me through the process. There's not a doubt in my mind that Erica had my daughter in mind the whole time & this wasn't about "winning" or encouraging an unneccesary custody battle. She didn't try to drag out the process for monetary gain and in fact, did EVERYTHING in her power to make sure it was handled as timely as possible. I started off blindsided by the case which left me unprepared, overwhelmed and extremely stressed but that changed when Erica and her team took on my case. If you're looking for someone to boost your ego and waste your time, Bansmer Law isn't the place to go. If you're looking for someone to be completely transparent while supporting you through what is likely one of the toughest experiences you'll go through, hire Erica!

Difficult to get ahold of...until you write a negative review on google, then all of a sudden she calls back. Absolutely refused to discuss possible outcomes and options for responding. Refused to discuss pretty much anything until the morning before court. Condescending and will lecture you for asking questions. Constantly made mistakes on paperwork and didn't file anything until the last minute...wrong case number, mixing up petitioner and respondent, filed in the wrong county and didn't realize until the final court date so we had to start over, mixed up who was supposed to pay child support to whom, the other party was a no show to court several times and Bansmer never pushed to proceed without her, but didn't hesitate to charge an extra $600 for the day...for the amount of money she charges (double what another lawyer quoted, but we had already paid her) it was a nightmare.

I retained Erica Bansmer to represent me in a difficult custody case. I have an “ex” who has narcissistic personality disorder and who had falsely used a court order to “kidnap” our two children. Erica quickly took control of the situation and got my kids back to me. She has stayed on top of the situation since then. She even took a late-night phone calls from me at a crisis point in the case. The case is ongoing, but I have every confidence that I will prevail with Erica‘s help. I can’t say enough good things about Erica I recommend her.

I met with Erica to discuss my existing divorce and pending court date. Erica was thorough and professional. At the end of our meeting she was blunt and honest with her opinions of the potential outcomes. She provided me with several options to address the case. One was a lengthly and costly court battle, the other was a simple cost savings resolution that would save me lots of money but sacrificing her opportunity to make thousands. Thankfully I was able to negotiate the less costly plan with my ex-wife.
There was an opportunity for her to simply state that the case had to see a court room and charge me thousands of dollars but she didn't. She educated me and gave me the opportunity to chose. She was a tremendous help and continued to follow-up while I settled my issues. She was attentive, professional, courteous and, above all, honest.

The worse attorney office i ever dealt with!!! bloodthirsty unprofessional they don’t care about customers greedy, they just care about business!!! I almost had heart attack because they read a wrong file and gave me wrong information about my case!!! They don’t update you or keep you in loop even if it’s your case!! they won’t email you for any update they wait for you to call so they can charge you!!! we agreed on $4000!! $2000 upfront and after 60 days anther $2000 when i felt lost with them i got very upset i asked them to return the money she send me invoice and she’s saying i owe her $906.75!! after paying her $2178.50 so she’s charging me on phone calls and emails she sent i didn’t even see, i even did the paperwork for kids visitation with office parents by choice.. Just a big advice don’t hire her!!! she will take your money without doing anything.

Every child custody case is different. Every custody case is difficult. Erica and her team were kind and helpful from the very start. When I first given papers for court I didn’t have an attorney – then either a day or two before court date I called around and I was referred to Erica’s office. I called and even though my phone call to them was in a last minute panic, they didn’t hesitate to help me. Without even seeing me they were able to make sure I was prepared for court and Erica was there. I don’t know if I could pick a most difficult part about a child custody case; especially mine, because everything about this is tough, stressing, and draining. Erica, Katie, Amanda, and Janell helped me understand the process and kept my hopes up. They were there to listen and took action when necessary. This is all still very tough especially knowing that I might have many more years of this. That is why am thankful to have a genuine, intelligent, and responsive team like Erica’s. There are many times when I would call or email their office multiple times a day. Instead of making me feel like I was inconveniencing them or my concerns were invalid, they addressed them.
