This was my second time using this law firm for closing on a house and it went smoothly both times! Clint was super friendly. He offered everyone drinks and engaged in conversation. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

For an attorney that mostly does real estate deals to insult a Realtor by saying to the client "I want to be a Realtor when I grow up." Is just insulting and rude.

I have called their office twice over the last three months about needing a Will and Trust. The man who answered the phone put me through to a female employee but I got her voicemail bith times so I left a message. I never received a return call from both of those voicemails I left. Earlier last week I even went on their website and left a comment that I needed someone to contact me about wills and trust and never received a response from that either.

After a week of emails going back and forth with my lender, I received an email from a pre-closer asking if we were still closing that day. Excuse me, what? If I hadn't of checked my email, I would never have known there was an issue.

I then proceed to dig into the issue with them, my lender, and the underwriters. I receive differing accounts from the pre-closer as to what the issue was: couldn't reach someone on the phone, couldn't get assistance when they did, and so forth. Ok, finally get it resolved.

I then proceed to speak directly to the attorney, who proceeds to speak down to me (you could hear the "little lady" in his voice), states to me that "this is how this business is". (I admit, I'm vastly underimpressed at this point and so is my lender who has never had this many issues). I guess I do have different expectations as to what being "prepared" or professional means. I think to myself that just need to get this transaction completed and then I never have to deal with them again.....

The actual closing, the attorney was unkempt and tried to throw some digs at my being a "yankee" born. Whatever, boomer. However....

When you hand my husband the closing packet instead of me, who is the actual borrower, whose name on all the paperwork, who you handed the documents to sign, you are a misogynistic a**hole.

My husband looked at me and shook his head.

I closed on a house in October 2018 and paid my taxes at closing. But Huguenin’s office made a mistake and sent my taxes back to me INSTEAD of the mortgage company! I did receive a check but didn’t think much about it has I had pain ALOT for a REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY to handle this matter. And then I was slammed with a huge payment from the mortgage company which I wasn’t expecting. And when I called the office, the women I spoke to admitted they had made a mistake and was extremely RUDE. So if you would like your real estate closing handled properly, I would suggest you pick another firm....

"I have closed with Huguenin twice, once as a seller's agent and once as a buyer's agent. Both times were far from perfect. It was hard to get a call back from the people we needed to talk to. They don't give any information out before closing. It's all a surprise until you get to the table.
Even when there's a large lien found against the property, it doesn't warrant the seller being informed. He just has to come to the table and suddenly find out that instead of breaking even like they emailed him on the official HUD1 document, he owes several thousand dollars. The document is then quickly and neatly replaced with a corrected document that reflects this change. I understand that there are some communication oversights in large transactions, but with the amount of visits the seller made to the office to make sure everything was in order, they should have mentioned their findings to him MUCH sooner as he was not aware that an old debt had been secured to the property.
I brought this point up with David as we finished the transaction and were leaving, but he brushed it off, turned his back to me and walked away without any kind of common courtesy. I've never been so rudely treated by anyone in this capacity. Mistakes happen (if that's what this was), rudeness about those mistakes shouldn't."

Total cash deal with 2 week prep time. I had to call multiple times all the way up to the afternoon before closing to get a itemized financial statement to go to bank with to have check cut. One staff member actually told me to bring more money than I thought just in case...WHAT?!?! And that she couldn't help me because she was just filling in for the person on vacation...well then you aren't fill in! TERRIBLE does not begin to cover this. Staff seems overwhelmed dare I say incompetent.

David Hugeunin is a wonderful Attorney and person. He and his staff went out of their way to get our file ready and to close on time. He has closed two of our houses and many of our friends and family have used him and have only had wonderful experiences. I would highly recommend David and his staff.

I have used David's office multiple times in the past 10 years since living in August. Recently I realized that this place is a FACTORY for closings. Multiple mistakes are made with NO accountability or service. My past 3 experiences resulted in a personal conversation with David. I think he means well but his team is COMPLETELY overwhelmed and NON responsive to needs. If you don't care about quality, service or detail go here. I'd suggest you find out for yourself by calling the office and asking for a personal call back before closing; you probably won't get it and you probably deserve it. For the price you pay for a close, you deserve the service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that cares. You are paying for a service this office does not see it that way. This office works on behalf of sellers ( they give him great reviews), buyers are paying for closing.
