I have been trying have my case settled and finally have my recommended surgery for over 2 years already! But every few months my case gets handed to a new lawyer who knows ZERO about my case. Instead of actually reading their files, I have to catch the new lawyer up. I am convinced they don’t care are about justice for their clients. I was send to physical therapy, pain management and a surgeon. Every time I get passed on to a new lawyer they want me to repeat everything over again. They only that does is put me further into debt, now I’m to the point that I can’t even afford my recommended surgery because of the useless 2nd options the lawyers claim they want, even though they all keep telling me I have plateaued and that the only thing that would fix my pain is the surgery! Nearly two years ago, my 60+ year old wife, while participating as a volunteer subject for an experiment at a large and well-known “state supported university” on the correlation between aging and balance, took a VERY nasty fall. The reason : the safety harness ( which was designed for the specific purpose of catching a subject if/ when they fell ) failed. This was NOT due to any product defect - but instead was the DIRECT result of negligence on the part of the experiment staff who did not check the harness to ensure it was properly installed and secured. As a result of this fall, my wife suffered a concussion, short term memory loss, vision impairment, and damage to her spinal chord. These resulted in thousands upon thousands of dollars in medical bills. Being as naive as we were at the time, we assumed that the university would “do what was only right” and compensate my wife for her medical bills. And - although the university clearly admitted, with no hesitation, that they were absolutely at fault - they adopted an arrogant attitude of : “Gee, tough luck. What are you going to do about it ?” They offered an insultingly small amount of compensation - - not nearly enough to even cover the medical bills. What we came to learn over the ensuing months was that the university knew that they had the full backing of an entire staff of highly paid lawyers, as well as the financial and legal backing of the State of Texas Comptroller’s office. This was truly a case of David vs Goliath. We tried to get several respected law firms in our community to take our case, and the results were always the same - - they wouldn’t take our case because they “knew where their bread was buttered”. In this town, that giant university is the economic engine that drives the entire economy of the region, and no lawyer who wishes to continue practicing here would DARE to take them on.

Being fully aware of the “Goliath” he was about to face, Chris and his team took our case.
