ALL ABOUT THE CONSULTING FEE!

I emailed Ms. TATE and it was the best 30 second story of my case I have written. I immediately phoned her to attempt to get a copy of it.

She asked me about me case and I responded. Then she stated bring your papers in but I charge $500 consulting fee. I stated I will not be able to and she hung up on me in mid sentence. I called right back to request my 30 second story but she did not answer.

Thankfully rate and reviews are available to show others what some are all about. I dont think she is going to send me my story, is she!?

I came to Elizabeth during the week of Christmas and thought no one would take my discrimination case. Elizabeth talked to me for almost 30 minutes on the phone, which is unheard of. No secretary screening calls. No calls back or 3 minutes of time before the "Come spend $350." She took the time to make sure it was worth me coming in... worth both of our time and money. She said she wasn't cheap but she was honest and worth what she charged. There are cheaper and there are more expensive lawyers, but Elizabeth is the smartest I have ever met and she makes herself affordable because many of her clients can't afford it. She is great at what she does and if she takes a case, she is willing to actually fight. She said she had an hour on Saturday. She charged me for an hour, then she spent four hours with me. She has been my attorney for the last five months and takes phone calls at 8 PM some nights. She is prompt about communicating. She is an amazing writer and is one of the best advocates for her clients I have ever met. She stands up for her clients and she defends us. Elizabeth is a powerful voice against a world of really crappy, racist, bigoted, evil, prejudiced people. She sticks up for the little guy and she knows how to fight and scrap. The opposition has thus far thrown going on 10 different attorneys at our case and counting. Tate is fearless and punches above her weight class... kicks above her weight class (her nephew is a professional kickboxer.) If you want lessons in how to kick ass and take names, I think Tate has that down. If you want an attorney who is a chessmaster and can outthink the competition, Tate will beat you at that too. She is full of surprises.

Ms. Tate and her staff are amazing at what what they do. She is an attentive listener and really tries to understand your needs. She is knowledgable at what she does which makes her one of the best. I would recommend Ms. Tate and firm to anyone who is seeking justice and wants their voice to be heard. Thank you Ms. Tate for all you do in our community and we are honored you are practicing here our neighborhood.

Ms. Tate seemed to be knowledgeable, open, & honest in the beginning. We spoke several times and she gave instruction on the things I needed to do. I had two different cases in which she informed she would consult for one consultation fee; however, I would have to retain her separately for each case if I decided to proceed. Ms. Tate was 45 mins late for my appointment and seemed to be very unorganized. Both cases were fairly cut & dry as far as the information that needed to be relayed to her but it took Ms. Tate the whole hour to grasp the basic facts and to enter information for her notes. During this time, I attempted to obtain consult on the other EEOC claim as agreed. I simply wanted to run the facts by her to see if she felt this was worth pursuing (possibly 10 mins of her time). Ms. Tate redirected me each time I mentioned it & stated that we'll discuss it. Once my hour was up, I was rushed out of her office so she could "be on time" for her next appointment. She accompanied me to a conference & even then, she took other calls for clients while we waited once again never giving me the chance to quickly ask about the other case we agreed to consult about. I was not concerned at the time but observed that she really didn't have time for me at all. I attempted to call Ms. Tate two weeks later to run the case by her just to see if it was worth pursuing. She informed that she had no time although there was a 180 day timeframe left to respond. I reminded her of the agreement she made & explained that I only needed a few short minutes. To my surprise, Ms. Tate informed me that I could call another attorney because she just did not have 10 mind of time yet we wasted 10 mins going round & round. Ms. Tate said apologize for agreeing to discuss this case with me & being unable to do so; however, I feel that it is very unprofessional to obtain money from a person & agree to something then change your mind AFTER you're paid. She said I just "wanted a freebie". No Ma'am, I simply wanted what you agreed to & I did not feel that the time you spent in the consultation was worth $350 at all. I gave you the benefit of the doubt although I questioned several things AFTER the consult; however, you have just proven to be everything I thought you were. Before spend your money with Ms. Tate, shop around. I am not saying she is a bad attorney but I am saying that she seems to lack integrity & the time to give her clients the necessary attention. In addition, if she or any other attorney take your case, they are paid a retainer fee no matter what & then a percentage of they win. Due to the lack of focus & her rushed personality, it's hard to tell if she really feels that you have a fighting chance or if she's just looking to make $350/hr & the retainer fees. Good luck!

Elizabeth Tate has been amazing to work with. From the moment when I first contacted her firm, she was prompt to follow up the same day and we met in her office the next day on a Saturday morning consultation. She was very thorough and made me feel that I was her utmost concern. From start to finish it has been a great experience. I would absolutely recommend anyone else to make her your first call.

My husband was stressed and felt helpless. We did not have money for consultation fees and Elizabeth spoke to me over the phone and got us pointed in the right direction for free. Made us feel like someone really cared what we have been going through.

Horrible experience! She charges you $250 for a so called "consultation" then $5000 down, then 40% of anything recovered, then makes you sign for "unlimited" spending that will also come out of your recovery and when you question any part of that agreement, she is suddenly too busy for your case! How someone has not reported this woman to the bar is beyond me! How could this be ethical or legal? Disgusting! Oh and she only takes cash..I hope the IRS is reading this!

Mrs Tate well known ,excellent reputation , alot of experience and most definitely out of our price range !! Talent hardw experience that is what all the money pays for I thought my husband was going to be a victim all over again and the two Elmirage police officers that made him a victim already even causing broken bones and permit damage were going to go without punishment until Elizabeth Tate gave us hope again when she didn't ask for no money up front and agreed to except monthly payments !!! My husband now has a chance to have real justice thanks to Elizabeth Tate

I am pursuing a civil police brutality case in Federal court. I am from out of state. I filed from out of state and thanks to Elizabeth Tate's thoughtfulness I saved this case from being dismissed. She has my thanks and respect and I enthusiastically endorse her and her work. PERIOD

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Elizabeth D. Tate. She appears to be one of those Pro Bono/Contingency Lawyers who doesn't read the client's EEOC complaint before contacting the client, advises an "out-of-the-box" strategy that could result the client losing their disability benefits by forcing them back to work (Ticket To Work Program) when client is almost 60 yrs old and too old for the program, in order to prove their prior damages received from client's prior employer. When asked about all the damages client may qualify for, Ms. Tate turns tail and runs. Ms. Tate receives an "F" in Communication skills with people with Disabilities, especially Mental Health. I wouldn't hire Ms. Tate to walk my Emotional Support Animal because the Federal Court Judge in Phoenix is probably going to dismiss my case in 3 days because I'm too disabled to do it myself. I feel like dying because of Ms. Tate. If I was rich and had the $7500.00 she needed for a retainer fee, I bet she would have not thrown me away like a piece of trash.

Called to see if she was interested in my case involving illegal MMJ discrimination and while i was mid-sentence her response was "just hold on a second, that is a new part of the law that i do not know so i can't help you ok bye"...quite rude and what kind of lawyer is unaware of the laws in their own state?! not to mention it's not that new...medical marijuana has been in AZ for years.

She is very professional. I was a pro per litigant and she took the case and did a exceptional job in resolving the case. I would not have done as well with out her help. She is a blessing from God.

I recently had an discrimination episode at my workplace and Elizabeth was kind enough to call me back on a SUNDAY, not even regular business days and that is HIGHLY appreciated. She was very helpful and gave advice she didn't have to and I am very thankful and will be following up with her to get the justice we both believe I deserve!

Employment Law Queen ... So glad she was on our side! Elizabeth sorted out the stressful issues with minimal time to work within; respectfully went to the mat when necessary, stayed calm, encouraging and validated the constitutional rights afforded me under the law. David and Goliath? Call Elizabeth! She has the knowledge and fortitude to stick up for you!
