The Law Offices of Lisa Zonder have been nothing short of a miracle for my divorce proceedings.  After interviewing law offices contracted with my company’s legal plan, I settled upon OLZ  because of  Lisa Zonder’s and Matthew Jewett’s consultative, pragmatic, visual (effective use of whiteboards to convey concepts) and settlement-oriented approach.  Initially, I was effectively representing myself (in pro per), with Matt providing primary counsel. Although we had entered divorce mediation, I was still hopeful that I would be able to save the marriage. The mediator whom my wife had selected advised that since we were currently in mediation, I did not yet need to worry about filing a response to the divorce petition, which is generally required within 30 days in order to protect certain rights, and that the filing fee would be a waste of money at this time.  However, when I discussed this guidance with Matt and Lisa, they insisted that this was CRAZY talk, and vigorously advised that I MUST file the response, also advising that the filing fee would not be a waste of money anyway, because it would still be required down the line anyway at the time of submitting a divorce settlement.  So I heeded their VERY forceful counsel and filed the response.  I will say that in doing so, it ended up being the single most important action that I took; if I had not heeded their advice, I would have been obliterated by what eventually ensued. 
 
After Petitioner walked away from mediation and began to take a more aggressive and litigious posture, the need for a more broadened scope of assistance from OLZ began to manifest itself.  I was still a small potatoes client at that point, but I never felt neglected or under-represented.  About a year after my receipt of the initial divorce filing, things went sideways, and I realized that I needed OLZ fully representing me, else I risked getting absolutely steamrolled by my estranged wife's legal counsel.  As I entered this aggressive litigious phase, another attorney with the firm stepped in, Nicole Oden.  I soon learned that Nicole was a legal ninja, a meticulous note taker who provided expert counsel.  She and Lisa guided me through several spurned settlement offers, as well as advised on certain legal maneuvers to counter the aggressive litigiousness that we were facing.  We engaged a forensic accountant named James Good from a well-respected accountancy firm called Gursey Schneider that Lisa had recommended and Mr. Good’s analysis so precise and, well flawless.  Also enter Claudia Silverman, another member of the OLZ team with a great “bedside manner”, who made cogent, persuasive oral arguments during our court appearances.
 
More than two years after the initial divorce filing, things began to come together all at once and the court rendered a very consequential order that vindicated every aspect of Lisa and Nicole’s masterful guidance.  At every turn, the entire team of professionals that Lisa had assembled along the way operated in a fact-based, integral, and ethical manner, and employed all good faith efforts in an effort to streamline the litigation.
 
The divorce is not yet complete, but thanks to Lisa, Nicole, Matt, Claudia and the other staff from OLZ, not to mention James Good from Gursey Schneider, the range of remaining items needing to be addressed became a whole lot narrower.  I could never have made it this far without them.  If there is a such thing as a perfect family law firm, I am certain that it must be the Law Offices of Lisa Zonder.
