Beware...they are after money. 8 hours in court only to be told we have to go to mediation first. Then my lawyer scheduled mediation but went on vacation to Las Vegas instead. I had someone I never met before show up for mediation and she was completely unaware of my case and my situation, 8 hours of paying for a lawyer who worked on her computer with other cases the entire time. Then court case came up and my lawyer had no witnesses except me lined up to try and prove fraud judge's own words were "good luck with that". My lawyer was trying to juggle two cases in two different court rooms on the same day so when the judge asked if we were ready to go to trial my lawyer replied no. Now I am faced with another court hearing and the previously agreed on payment plan is no longer good enough, they need all the money up front. BEWARE!!!

Needs to be investigated by the bar. Obviously didn't learn anything in professional responsibility. Blatantly refused to follow client's requests, and blatantly went against her requests, filing documents and motions she explicitly forbid him to. He should be disbarred.

Apparently they start off with clerical errors and leave your information on another random person’s voicemail. Smh. The receptionist doesn’t seem to be phased by their errors and reschedules you. I think not. Red flags already, and that reflects the lawyers themselves. FYI: when you get there (after your 35 minute drive because you were referred to them) for your appt, the lawyer might pull off after seeing you pull up. An hour before they close...
I don’t think it’s the best place for you to start your case. But go to Pritchard, they were my second option and they should have been my first!

Imagine paying for your lawyers and didn’t get anything from the things that you wanted during the divorce. Hoping the person in charge for the billing has a little bit remorse to help you out during you’re tough time. I set up a monthly payment to be taken out on my account automatically every month
I’m not running away or even ignored how much I owe them. In the beginning I was paying $100 a month then I change it to 200. What I’ve been told if there is any changes just let them know in advance. I was trying to cleared my name for the credit card that my x husband opened it under my name. So
I called the billing to change my monthly payment to go back to $100. This person I don’t even remember her name was telling me she can’t change it because I owe them more than $4,000 which it’s never been an issue from the beginning that I set up automatically to be taken out on my account. Now she just don’t give a damn and wants me to raised the monthly payment. If she is on my situation I’m sure she will do the same thing. But she just don’t give a damn about your situation. And if you don’t have money to hire to pay for a lawyer don’t expect that they will fight for you. All they care is about money.

I really have to give this firm a five star service. From the moment I made an appointment to the very end of my needs, I received awesome, professional service. Ashley Clapper was friendly and explained everything upfront. Krista followed up with the completion of my needs. I’ve used this firm for years and my family has always used them for our family wills and estate needs. I can’t thank them enough.

Jay Stapler is a very tenacious and aggressive attorney when the situation calls for it. He will fight for what is fair and just, and he won't give up. My case took almost a year and a half, and during that entire time, I knew he was fighting for me. I would recommend Jay to anyone who needs representation in a child custody case. He is compassionate towards your feelings, he understands the sensitive nature of a child custody case, and at the same time he will stand up in court and fight hard for you. He's a selfless individual with a spirit for what's right. He is a very competent and knowledgeable attorney who will do everything he can to get you the outcome you deserve. My experience with Dan and Ashley made me not only appreciate them so much for believing in my case and in me but for showing me how caring lawyers can be. Do not believe the reviews of them being expensive. They are not. I have been to others for my case and I would have spent so much more. They are worth every dime and then some!

What should have been an easy case (words used by Rebecca Wheeler) turned into over a year of chaos for my children and for myself due to the ineptitude of Rebecca Wheeler of Corbin and Associates. She failed to file 3 separate motions after assuring me that she would, did not return my or the guardian ad litem's phone calls or emails for weeks, and literally shook like a leaf when she spoke to the judge. She allowed my ex-husband's attorney to control the entire case. I had to request and pay for a guardian ad litem so that she could make recommendations to the judge as my attorney was incapable of making a case. She never requested discovery from my ex yet allowed my medical and financial records to be required without an argument. My ex had five separate CPS complaints filed against him from educators and medical professionals in a one week period and she never even brought it up in court. During the final hearing, she barely spoke and the judge had to educate her in regards to geographical restrictions. I asked her why she did nothing to make my case and she said "When should I have brought these things up?" Anytime during the hearing would have been great. She was so shaken by her interactions with the judge that she forgot to bring up the money that my ex owed for the medical care of the kids. When I asked about that, she told me that I could always file for that separately. I "won" my case, because it truly couldn't have gone any other way, but it cost my children months of pain and tens of thousands of dollars.

Also, I didn't hire Rebecca Wheeler. I met with and retained a different attorney within the firm and they so kindly switched me to a different attorney without asking for my approval.

My story is the same as most ... sons father ran off with my child didnt even pay child support and was told by ashley clapper that he was in his right to take my child and that him not paying child support was not in contingent with anything ... so now my child is i dknt know where because he gave two different address lied in court .... i have primary residential custody i am military ... the judge gave me a geographical restriction with me being military and ex husband has no job ... only receiving va benefits ... and he runs off with my son ... and i call ashley clapper and she does nothing but say if i try to tale him to court he could try to get full custody ... stay away from this law firm they are the worse i have ever dealt with .... 1500 for contested and i had to pay for the dna test that my ex who ran off with my child asked for ...

If there was a choice to be negative it would be that. I had Ashley Clapper and Dan Corbin for about three years for a divorce and custody case. I have never been treated with respect there. They never call back, always seem like they are being rushed to get you in and out, all they care about is money! My ex husband assaulted me and Ashley forgot to submit the assault into evidence for our final court date, they would never file anything when my ex would run away and not bring my daughter back I had to go to the district of attorney to have them file a warrant, what lawyer forgets to do something so important as that! All she said was that it didn't matter that the judge was a mothers judge. Need I say I lost my daughter. Please find someone better than these people that work here! I wish I would have went to someone else long ago, but they promise you things that they wont and cant keep, they loose papers and they don't look into your case like they are truly there to help you! They are the biggest mistake I have EVER made!

I had him as my attorney and he had one of his staff members name JENETTA handling my case. I received my settlement and asked her several times was she for sure and she said yes. I was so happy told the boss Mr Corbin office manager
how good she was and little did I know it would come back and bite me in my buttocks. She have me oweing 17,000 and they got 14,000 for themselves did you see what I said. Yep i'm having to pay the insurance 17,000 back i'm getting garnished every month. I am on a set income. I came out with nothing I had sugery on my spine suffered and got nothing but 1,600 for PIP. And when I told Mr. Corbin about it's like too bad. They reaped the rewards she, JENETTA told him I rushed her but she was the attorney. She couldn't get a copy of a bill and I got it for her, thats not rushing, frankly she doesnt know her job. She supposed to been the one that should have known what she was doing. Look like I should have been refunded something from their part but I got nothing. I WOULDN'T recommend them to no one. Mr. Corbin has retired and seems to care less. How did they keep their 14,000 which was almost half and I was stuck with paying. Dont go there you will be left owing and thats a true fact sad very sad. I was kicked like a dog and don't know who to turn too but I can tell the public. I am part of a military family they are not for the soldiers its all about what they can get for themselves. Very hurt and left oweing 17,000 dollars

Honest when it comes to saying if they can do anything for your case or not. And if they don't they guide you in the right direction.

I started with another attorney that was absolutely failing at representing me. The attorney would have ended up with my ex wife receiving double the child support and maintaining 90% of the time with our child. After mediation I was on my way to only seeing my son four days out of the month and having no rights. My attorney was just collecting my money and not returning service. I was the father with no time, rights and paying a large sum for child support. I went and talked to Mr James Stapler the next day. As soon as Mr Stapler took over my case I felt confident that I had an attorney that was going to fight for me. First thing he did was cut the mediation charges down as my previous attorney provided no service. Mr Stapler then asked me exactly what I wanted as far as custody. He didnt waste my time and money and was totally up front. He came up with a strategy to combat the mothers claims of PTSD and TBI. Guided me on everything I needed to do to be a fit father in the laws eyes. Mr Stapler came to court and fought for me and in return I received 100% of everything I asked for. Mr Stapler is the man!!

Avoid this firm. J Stapler was dishonest and had no interest in actually knowing the law pertaining to my case. He was unoriginal and his defense strategy was basically pathetic. My attorney wife had to show him the law since he failed to look it up himself and then he got angry and acted pretty childish in his office. I thank God every day I didn't go through a jury trial with James Berry Stapler representing me.

I would tell anyone who is thinking about using them think again. They are terrible the service is lossy. They charge way tto change and provide very little service. They will not tell you what your being charged for, Bill does not explain it either. After 11 years of marriage my ex cheated on me Corbin didn't even get him to pay my attorney fees and hhe income was a six figure

Horrible law firm. They did absolutely nothing for my case, they did not communicate to my exes lawyer at all. They showed up to court after not doing anything to work on my case. Once my divorce was finalized no one will respond to any of my questions regarding child support. Please don't waste your money on them, unless you want to do your own divorce!!

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use this firm. Every person employed with law firm with the exception of Mr. Stapler is unprofessional, inefficient to the point of procrastination and down right close to incompetent. They will waste not only your time but nickel and dime you to the point where your money is wasted. Example 1) The $1500 contested divorce retainer they will quote you ended up costing me $3100 (and they still haven't finished). This was for a plain and cut simple divorce with no children and property division handled almost entirely by the parties, which I filed and payed for prior to hiring this firm. My lawyer (Chanteshia Hodges) had no idea at times what was going on with the case and could not have done less to defend or protect me from the legal raping (for a lack of better terms) by the opposing party - quite literally I defended myself and she (as per the invoice) "reviewed files," "reviewed emails," "filed notes," "copy/scanned/organized file," "prepared fax cover and time to fax," "scheduling", and things of this nature. They charged me over $300 to file when I had already filed, continued to attempt to serve papers to an address I had told them would not work, and refused to return any type of correspondence phone, email, or postal to me their "client" as to the status of my case at anytime unless it was to tell me that they needed more money because they had reviewed and filed $1500 worth of emails.I finally had schedule a walk-in appointment just to get an update on my case - they charged me, when they were forced to call me to set an appointment or update me - they charged me. Basically I had to babysit these people whom I hired to defend me and my interests in the matter just to get them to do the basics of their job. Their billing person (Alejandra) refused to do any work even after being told by one of the senior partners (Mr. Stapler) to do so, blatantly disregarded his instructions for almost a month, I watched him scold her over the phone when he found out. I would recommend any lawyer other than this joke of a law firm, rather than see any other person be manipulated by these shysters whom I will be reporting to the III Corps JAG office and request that they be removed from suggested law firms to be used by military personnel as they are completely taking advantage of people in this community.

I am sure that James Stapler is the Best personal Injury attorney in Killeen, TX. I recommend Mr. James Stapler. J Stapler is a good lawyer in Killeen, TX near Fort Hood Army Post. He cares about the people he works with and his case load. I have only known him a few months but I can tell he is knowledgeable about the law. He also won Best Law Firm in Killeen, TX having been voted on by the local daily newspaper readers. That speaks volumes about the trustworthiness of his practice.

Quality of service was not equivalent to cost. Additional fees were added, but the pertinent information came from another firm. I was double charged for the information I received from the other firm. I would not recommend this firm.

Run don't walk from these people. I, sadly, did not. Overpriced incompetent and in general useless. The staff is pleasant enough but many young and inexperienced and I bet that is to save on the salaries. That is the most positive thing I can say. They are horrible at keeping you up to date on your case. They will draw a case out as long as they can, billing you all the while. The senior partner is more concerned with his political activities and his retirement than managing or supervising a case. He makes a big deal about his military service and how much he helps military people when in fact the only 6 he has is his wallet. You would be better off representing yourself.

Nice folks but completely incompetent. Once they've got your money they refuse to return calls, emails, or text messages (we tried all 3 to reach someone and no one ever returned our calls). The principal of the firm, Dan Corbin, was too busy running for Mayor of Killeen to ensure his clients legal services were being cared for. Typical politician, says one thing and does another.

Ultimately, we had to terminate our contract with them and intend to submit complaints to the American and Texas Bar Associations. These folks should not be practicing law in any jurisdiction.

I am a small business owner and I've trusted Mr. Corbin for many years with business and personal legal issues. I don't even think about calling anybody else. You will not find a more genuine, caring and trustworthy person. Mr. Corbin has my highest recommendation.

Over a year ago today, my life was perfect. I was in good health, held a full time job until I was involved in an accident. I was a pedestrian and was hit by a car. This accident changed my life. HORRIBLE!!! The front desk lady is extrmelely rude when you call. Also they are horrible at keeping you updated about your case no matter how many times you call, but they sure do keep track of everything you owe them. They even talk to opposing council, charge you for it and neglect to tell you why or what it was about. I am so sick of this attorney, Ashley Clapper= worst attorney ever!!!! Do not waste your time or money here! If you enjoy being lied to and love having ridiculous mistakes made to your case than told she did nothing wrong even though you have witnesses by all means use her. I will be reporting her to the bar!!! Already called for the paperwork. I have never met someone so rude and that did not seem as though she was on my side at all and that has made my case that should have been open and closed a big mess!!! Ashley Clapper has done so many things wrong it is unbelieveable that she even finished school to become an attorney. She has not been practicing long and it greatly shows.
