If I could give this law firm zero stars I would. We did not hire them for our closing, thank God, the seller did. He paid for their ineptitude not us! The incompetence displayed, particularly by the paralegal who handled the closing, is astounding. We attempted to drop off a check shortly after the offer, for earnest money, and the receptionist didn’t know what to do with the check, and even though we had an appointment, she was not expecting us. She actually told us she didn’t know if she could accept the check!!!! Later on, they called us and asked us what day and time we wanted the closing. We gave them two options late in the afternoon on two choices of days. They scheduled it first thing early in the morning on a different day then the options we presented them with. Then, the information provided after the closing was a further display of their incompetence. Closing was in early October. We pre-paid taxes for the entire year at closing. Six weeks later they had never paid the taxes, so our mortgage lender did it! This resulted in a shortage in our escrow account, because we did not know that the law firm had never written out the check to the way they were supposed to. Then when we contacted them we got this “holier than thou attitude“ —and they said they would refund the money since they had never mailed it out. They claimed to have given it to a courier three weeks ago, but for some reason that courier never paid the taxes. Yeah right!Two days later that lie unraveled, and they said unfortunately they had already sent the check (after they already told us they’d retrieved the check ‘just in time’ ... ) ... now they told us WE have to get a refund from the lender. What were THEY paid for???? They accepted a sizable fee to take care of things in a competent manner, and then did absolutely nothing. I would never ever recommend this firm. We have bought and sold more than a dozen properties in North and Central Florida over the yearmrs, and I’ve always used a title company, never an attorney, and have never had a problem. This is EXACTLY why!!! Only now that the seller decided to use a lawyer did we have myriad problems that they wouldn’t lift a finger to solve. If you are doing a real estate closing, just use the title company. Attorneys for this are not worth the charge and definitely NOT this firm. From what I understand, they lost a partner and things seem to be falling apart over there. Maybe they’re good for divorce or something else but they know nothing about real estate.

TERRIBLE COMPANY I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANY LEGAL MATTERS. THIS LAW FIRM SENT ME A DEMAND LETTER FOR MY HOA WITH A BILL FROM THEM STATING THAT I OWE THEM $400. FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS TO MAIL OUT A LETTER WHICH IS MORE THAN LIKELY A TEMPLATE AND TOOK THEM ALL OF 2 MINUTES TO PRODUCE.
WHAT THIS LAW FIRM DOES IS LEGAL ROBBERY, AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. THE AMOUNT THAT THEY CHARGED ME DOES NOT FIT. A TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR CHARGE WOULD HAVE BEEN REASONABLE $400 IS QUITE UNREASONABLE AND GREEDY. HOW MANY FAMILIES HAS THIS LAW FIRM STOLEN FROM. THEY SHOULD BE VERY ASHAMED OF THEIR BUSINESS TACTICS, BUT THEY CLEARLY DO NOT HAVE A CONSCIENCE.

The best word to describe this business would be incompetent. They were the title company the seller used for my home purchase and their lack of professionalism is astounding. Where should I begin? They had over 4 months to work on the closing disclosure and they still managed to make major mistakes that delayed our closing. They didn't acknowledge that a mistake was made until the 2 hours before we were set to close, the title agent Pam Clifton chose to notify us of the mistake via email, I called immediately after I received the email and was told that she went to lunch, I asked for her cell phone number and they told me she does not have a cell phone, they actually expected me to believe that! She conveniently also made herself unavailable until the time of our closing appointment. When I arrived they simply said there was a mistake and we can't close on your home today. We could have closed that day, but the title company didn't want to have to pay for their mistake. My loan officer argued to have one of the attorneys come into the conference room and speak with us and they again LIED and told us that none of the attorneys were in the office, after my loan officer began yelling at them for their incompetence eventually one of the attorneys finally entered the room and then proceeded to try to blame me for the mistake on the closing disclosure that his company prepared. I would highly recommend choosing a different company for any of your legal needs.

I had the privilege to work in a case with both Ruddy and Horace Smith on multiple occasions and I can say without a doubt, they are two of the most knowledgeable, and ethical attorneys I have ever encountered. The firm as a whole is top notch.

Best law firm around! Staff is courteous and extremely helpful. Mr. Smith, Shelia Ennis and Jody were always there for me and answered all of my questions in a very timely manner.
