I was referred to Mark Tucker's office from another attorney who didn't handle landlord tenant issues..usually I am the landlord and know the law so it was interesting to suddenly be the tenant who needed help! In our case the landlord had entered the property numerous times without permission and actually commenced remodeling the unit before we were legally out and still had our possessions in the unit! He met with me very quickly...I want to say within 1 day...and he absolutely knew his real estate statutes and law. I used to have an active Real Estate license so I had an idea what I had...but I was totally surprised when he pulled out information like naming husband and wife even though the lease was in husbands name only..after all AZ is a community property state..and he gave me the language to use so I could represent myself in small claims court. The kicker is..he even responded promptly to further emails which I absolutely didn't expect! He didn't rush me thru the consult and listened! He even sent me relevant links for the Az Residential Landlord tenant act a couple of days before I was going to court! I was amazed! I guess in some ways even though I didn't win it all...I came across as a pro in court. Small claims is dicey because you don't have anyone with knowledge of the law sitting at that table and I did feel like I was in a Jerry Springer show! In hindsight, the landlord would have been easy to collect from so maybe I should have just filed a civil action and paid him to represent me. It would have been worth it! Bottom line...he made the difference for me. So...give this guy a try..I rarely, RARELY write reviews but this guy was worth it! Thanks again to Mark!

My fiancé and I were having some challenges with our Landlord who was making threats to evict us so after researching the applicable statutes we decided to seek legal advice. We reviewed and called a few law offices and even made an appointment with another attorney but after I hung up the phone I didn’t have a good feeling. So I did more research and decided to give the law office of Mark Tucker a call. The receptionist (Sorry, forgot your name) who answered the phone was very helpful, she took my information, explained the options (phone or in-person), fees, and upcoming available times for the initial consultation and verified their office address. I then canceled my appointment with the other attorney’s office (who couldn’t even verify their location address for me when I asked).

I’ve never had to hire an attorney so I was a bit nervous when we went to see Mark but almost immediately after meeting him both me and my fiancé were at ease! He was very professional and communicative while listening to our concerns, reviewing the current statutes, sharing his professional experience, and in explaining what we could expect if our case goes to litigation. He was very detailed in his advisement on how we should proceed after our visit with him and even followed up via email (promptly) when I shared additional concern after the consultation. He is very down to earth, easy to talk to and genuinely seems to care about what is right!

My initial expirience with Mr. Tucker was positive. He took the time to explain various portions of AZ laws with regards to landlord and tenants. I had already read it but needed confirmation I had understood them correctly. Conversation was easy and I appreciated the laughs. After a bit of time had passed I went back to Mr. Tucker as clarification was needed on new developments. Basically all he did was go over everything that we had already gone over with more stories. These consultations were not free - $150 each time. I paid $300 for an hour of consultation and maybe recieved 20 minutes worth of advice. How much I pay for rent or where I live shouldn't be relevant nor should someone only have an option to break their lease and have to move. I have made a home for myself and finding something comperable to what I have now will be hard not to mention the personal reasons I have not to move.

Easy to find place. Receptionist very friendly. Attorney helped with a case of eviction. Not cheap.

We had a case against one of the largest property rental companies in AZ. The individual we were in trial against has dozens of negative review online and is known as a “slum lord”. We attempted to break our lease after discovering there was toxic mold in the house. We interviewed a few different lawyers and did hours of online research before first contacting Mark to talk about the legal steps and process to breaking the lease. We proceeded to sit down with him for a paid consultation.

The one hour consultation was extremely valuable as we learned how to take the correct steps to prepare if our landlord was to take us to court (which he later did). Mark was extremely responsive and when we were served notice we would be taken to court, he not only managed our emotions, but moved very quickly to take the right legal steps in our favor that later played a large factor in the decision of our case.

When it came time for mediation, Mark went from the smily/happy/nice guy that he is and put on his game face. It was really great to watch how sternly he fought in our defense, although we didn’t settle (other parties decision that later worked out in our favor) I felt extremely confident going to trial with Mark as our representative.

Mark helped prepare us for court, line up witnesses, and prepared our defense.

I can whole heartedly say he dramatically out prepared and performed our opponents lawyer (who is known as the top “landlord/tenant” lawyer in the state). It was truly impressive, to the point I left the trial thinking there is no way we lose this case. That turned out to be true, we were awarded the case and all legal fees were declared to be paid by our opponent. Mark is currently in the process of helping us collect on those fees and will likely be pursuing 3x’s our security deposit.

I can’t thank Mark enough for his work and efforts to turn one of the worst nightmares in our life to a positive situation.
