Best decision EVER! I was incredibly nervous to hire an attorney. Why couldn’t I handle it myself with enough research? Wasn’t there a solution that my ex and I could come to on our own? I couldn’t fathom the unknown amount it would cost as I tried to find a solution for a contested divorce. Additionally, my case was extra complicated due to multiple business ventures, commingled funds, property, waste, an uncooperative ex, and many legal exceptions that made me wary that only a few would know how to handle it. I tried my best with limited resources for 8 months. The biggest mistake I made during this process was not hiring Darin, my attorney at Modern Law, sooner. He handled ever aspect of my case with integrity and dedication. But if I hadn’t had the experience of talking to many other attorneys first, I might not have understood what a gem of support I found in him and the whole Modern Law team. They listen, they validate, and they redirect you when you get emotionally connected to a point that is not important in the grand scheme of things. I especially like their teamwork mentality. Over 4 years after my drawn-out divorce was finalized, I decided to attempt to modify the terms of my Spousal Maintenance obligations. I was of the opinion that Spousal Maintenance wasn’t fair the day the judge signed the decree. Furthermore, changes in circumstances for both my ex and myself made it not only impossible for me to continue paying, but the ex-wife would be hard pressed to demonstrate that she needed ANY more financial support from me.
The divorce was especially damaging to my finances, having dragged on for 14 months. Lawyer’s fees were high, and the level of service I received was, at best mediocre. I was in no rush to hire another lawyer, had no funding left to pay for one, and knew that there was no guarantee that I would prevail.
Early last summer, I began calling legal professionals who specialized in “alimony reduction”, only to find that inflation seemed to be rampant, and this effort would cost thousands (at least as much as the divorce), again with no guarantees.
Modern Law was one of the firms I gave serious consideration to. I met with them in person at their office in Mesa. Staff was professional, understanding, and offered a few possible solutions. One of them was to work with a paralegal at Access Legal. Honestly, the price was at least double what I was expecting, but my previous experience with my original divorce lawyer (not affiliated with Modern Law or Access Legal), left me with the feeling that “I could do a better job representing myself.” At least if I blew it, I’d have no one else to blame.
While Access Legal could not offer me legal advice, they sure could guide me in the right direction, prepare flawless documents in “legalese”, correct my thought process when necessary, and keep the whole mission on track. As far as the cost, considering the dozens of phone conversations, 2 AM e-mail correspondence, and a genuine feeling that I was on track to prevail, I now consider the price to have been a bargain. I can honestly say that for every dollar I spent with Access Legal , my return (through alimony reduction) was at least 10 times higher.
To sum it up, I would highly recommend Access Legal to anyone who is willing to invest some additional effort (beyond letting an attorney handle things) and has enough confidence to walk into the courtroom alone. Access Legal gave me the confidence by guiding me every step of the way, and thoroughly checking that my documents and reasoning were on the right track.

I found this group online after looking at the reviews. What I liked about The Modern Law is that they were willing to help immediately. Before I went to them, I called other people to see what I was getting into before making the right decision. Anyhow, when I would call numbers I would either be directed to voicemail without any returned phone calls, or someone rude would answer my calls and then put me on hold making me feel less important than other clients. With the Modern Law, they were always there for me, prompt with my emails, texts, and calls. They would reply to me either immediately or within an hour or less. They took time to listen to me and my wishes, they would console me if I was worried or had concerns. Most importantly, they didn't waste my time or money. Lawyers can get expensive. At the Modern Law, they didn't waste any of my time, they would send my paperwork over to me via email for signing, easy and convenient especially if you are someone who is with a busy schedule. They also didn't waste my money, they were not filing any random stuff or working on papers that didn't need to work on, just to increase my bill. They were open and honest, I would get a summary of all the transactions bi-weekly for my review. If I had any questions, they have a billing person to answer any questions.

My experience with Modern Law was phenomenal, and based on my experience, I would highly recommend this firm.

Three years after my divorce, my obligation for spousal maintenance was coming to an end. However, my ex decided she needed three more years of support and filed a petition with the court. I sought out legal advice to understand my rights and responsibilities.

I worked directly with attorney Ashley Tuchman. It was clear from my consultation with her that she understood my situation, gave me excellent advice on how to proceed, even if that meant proceeding on my own without legal representation. Something that struck me on our first meeting was that she made no guarantees about the outcome, which actually put my mind at ease. She gave me her professional opinion about the case, but never over-promised. That level of honesty and integrity was refreshing, and that was why I retained her.

I hired Tracy Krall after recommendation from receptionist. I read about her online prior to consult and honestly was excited. Repensentation if Modern Law was short as my hearing date was approaching in 30 days. My retainer fee was depleated; which I knew would happen. But there was zero aggressiveness in court when being put up on the stand. There wasn’t a follow through with questions. I felt Tracy knew extremely little about my case. Her compassion and loyalty wasn’t with me as her client. It was to build rapport with the other attorney. Due her excessive social aspect in court talking to the other attorney regarding his lab top etc. I was left with things unsettled in court. Things unanswered. That I myself had to do tons of leg work to simply have what should have been done during a 3 hour hearing that wasn’t. It seems they are more concerned with earning business rather than supporting your case. I personally would have chosen another office. Candice was my paralegal. Although it was a short time she did very well with her responsiveness, compassion and urgency.

Well, I’m a Mesa father who was self-represented in a recent family law case that went to trial, the ruling was given last week and it couldn’t have gone any better. Although I was not a paying client, the value I was able to pull from their free resources left me with the just as much confidence.

Darin represented me for a deposition and did a wonderful job. And I am not just saying that because I am his Mother! I am am a notary public and found myself in the middle of a will dispute regarding a will I notarized several years early. The will was for a personal friend who had recently passed away and the situation was very emotional. I did not want to get involved in the fight over my friend's estate.

To make matters worse, the attorney who demanded to take my deposition was as mean as they come. He scheduled the deposition during a vacation that I had planned months ago, and was not willing to accommodate my schedule. He even threatened to depose me during my lunch hour if that is what it took. I was not trying to avoid the deposition like the attorney was making it seem, and I did not know what to do.

Darin was very patient with me, explained what my rights and obligations were under the circumstances. Ultimately, he was able to get the attorney the information he needed without having to go through the deposition. It was a huge relief!

It is on rare occasion when I feel compelled to write a review for services I have received. However, I would be remiss if I failed to extol the expert legal advice and care I received from the professionals at Modern Law.
My experience began this past January when I was unexpectedly served with papers from my wife who was seeking dissolution of our marriage of nearly 25 years. I first heard of the Tarascio Law Group from a professional that was helping me with my two daughters who were in my custody full time.

The counselor suggested the Tarascio Law Group because of their affordability and modern cost model where you essentially only pay for the services that you get with no hidden fees or retainers required.
