Horrible, anti professional, try to stay away from this "non profit." A lawyer lied to me and made me look like a fool.

Too bad I had to rate this review but this is the only way I could post my review. I talked to a receptionist about a disability issue I was given good advice at first. When I went back for clarification she didn't remember what she said. I think the fact that I'm a poor minority had everything to do with it.

Receptionist needs a new job. Preferably not dealing with people. I think I irritated her by calling. She kept making “exasperated noises” when I asked simple questions. Rude and obnoxious.

I called to get help for my son who is mentally ill. This office is extremely limited in what they do and "could not" offer any help or advice .

The receptionist answering phone calls has a terrible attitude! She is not welcoming and very bad at customer service. This is a bad look for the office and a very bad first impression. There are a lot of professional individuals in the area that would appreciate this job more and do a better job. She should be fired!

Found out that there is NO legal assistance for mothers going through a divorce. Justice is blind! How can it be legal and just if only 1 person has legal representation? Seriously... it puts women an children at a great disadvantage. I had been a stay away home mom had no money and had been out of the work force for 10 years. It was absolutely sinful.

Been trying to get ahold of them for over a month. Multiple calls and no call backs after i was told the lawyer was supposed to call back in a week. Just easier to try and get my divorce done myself

Well... I feel like I was lead on. About a month ago, I called them for help and they said to send over any documents that would pertain to my case. I didn't have everything I needed quite yet, so I waited until I had absolutely everything in order. I called them back and told them I have everything together, one of the intake people told me to go ahead and email everything over. I spent hours a few evenings ago uploading files, adding commentary to photos and such, renamed every file (and there were over 100) to make everything orderly and easier to sort through. I sent everything to them over 9 different emails, with brief explanations of the files in each email. I worked on this from about 4:30 pm-12:00 am. Literally an entire evening. The attorney called me yesterday morning and left a voicemail stating that he is " unfortunately deciding not to help me" because I "took too long" sending my documents, when I specifically told them that I didn't send everything at first because I DIDNT YET HAVE EVERYTHING that I needed. Because of this, I could potentially lose thousands of dollars from a landlord who is ripping me off, and I can't afford to lose that much money because of something that wasn't my fault, nor my responsibility. To say that I feel upset and extremely let down is an understatement.

I had a wonderful experience with Elizabeth Mclellan. She was an amazing attorney and got what I needed to get done in all of its entirety. She is the best! I love Legal Aid of East Tennessee!

Worst service iv ever seen! Took 4 phone calls just to speak to someone then she just got basic info....never talked to anyone again! They waited 2 weeks to send me a letter telling me they couldnt help me (although they knew nothing of the case) then tried to solicit money from me as a donation! Legal Aid in Tennessee is a joke!

Absolutely Pitiful Service! My father was in dire need of legal advice about my mother being turned away from a nursing home, made six phone calls to this shaky organization over a two week period, and not a single call was returned. Nice to see our taxpayer dollars being put to good use here!
