When I learned that what I thought was a regular speeding ticket for being clocked at 86 mph in a 70 mph zone on a stretch of I-81 in VA less than 30 miles from TN this past September enroute from York PA to visit my sick aunt in Knoxville, was really a Class 1 misdemeanor reckless driving charge which carried with it a year in jail, a $2,500.00 fine, and six points on my license I was both shocked & outraged; shocked that the penalty was so severe in an obvious speed trap and outraged that the ticketing officer did not tell me what I had when asked; saying that I could pay off the ticket over the phone without having to appear in court; neither of which was true with this particular charge. But for my suspicion that the officer had not told me the truth I would never have looked up the code on my ticket once I reached my destination and discovered the serious nature of the charge. I was sick because I knew I had no money to hire an attorney; let alone pay that $2,500.00 fine. Fortunately, while looking up the specifics of what I was charged with, I came across the Law Offices of Mark T. Hurt and the rave reviews I read compelled me to contact his offices on the spot. I explained my dire financial situation and to my amazement his office agreed to take a $100.00 down payment on the spot with the balance of the flat $400.00 fee to be paid off between now & my court date of December 13, 2018 (a date which they had gotten moved from September after I had only paid half of my fee). Well, I did what they told me to do; taking an eight hour safe driving course (which I found to be extremely helpful) and sending in my driving record which fortunately for me had not had any kind of infractions for over twenty years. As a result, due to Mark's representation, the court agreed to reduce my reckless driving charge to a basic traffic infraction of 79/70. This reduced my financial penalty from $2,500.00 to a $175.00 fine plus $64.00 in court costs and three points on my license. In an additional stroke of good fortune, I happen to live in one of two states (PA) which does not count three point out of state traffic infractions against my driving record which means my insurance rates will not go up. So all total I am out of $715.00 from this whole experience when you factor in attorney's fees, court costs, fine, and safe driving course & while it is a financial hit I can ill afford, it is a whole, whole lot better than the $2,500.00 hit plus six points & having a permanent criminal record I would have received had I done what so many out of state drivers unwittingly do; allow their reckless driving charge to result in a conviction either by not hiring a super attorney like Mark T. Hurt & representing themselves, or not showing up at all and taking the full hit by foolishly ignoring the seriousness of the charge. Don't be an idiot and incur such needless damage to yourself by trying to handle this alone because trust me, you won't win and you sure as hell will lose big. The Law Offices of Mark T, Hurt will work with you and as my title here states, a Promise they make is a Promise they keep. Just be sure to hold up your end & do exactly what they tell you to do because if you do that, you will surely come out ahead. So thank you Mark and thank your wonderful staff. All of you are superb in what you do and are true to your word. Just please don't hold it against me if during my next trip south I choose to fly over Virginia rather than drive through it. Hell, those folks are so overzealous in trapping folks in speed traps that right now I'm even afraid of taking the train through that state for fear that they might stop it for speeding and ticket everyone on board. My cousin got a Reckless Driving ticket in Wythe VA, and he was freaking out because he was visiting from another country. I began researching lawyers and called the office of Mark T. Hurt. I had received a reckless driving citation in VA on my way down to Myrtle Beach, SC for vacation in July. I was so distraught and disappointed in myself. I recently used their services for a speeding ticket in Pulaski county Virginia. The outcome was better than I expected.Services from this law firm was actually 50 dollars less than their local competitors and they were the only one that actually gave me a clear run down of what I can expect. In late January, I received a speeding ticket while driving on I-81. Needless to say, it was very disconcerting. I had planned to make the 4 hour drive down to appear in court on my own behalf. However, circumstances did not make this feasible. I called several attorney offices to find someone to represent me. When calling the office of Mark Hurt, I spoke with Brooke. She listened to my concerns and responded in a very professional and caring manner. She kept me abreast of what documents were needed and when those documents were received in the office. Before I get into my review of Ms.Stephanie Pease of the Mark T. Hurt law firm, let me just give a little background information. On Halloween night of 2017 while traveling down to TN, a state trooper of VA nabbed me at an alleged 105 in 70. A whopping 35 mph over the speed limit and considered a class one misdemeanor in VA. After arriving at my destination I did some research online for Bristol, VA lawyers and came across Mark T. Hurt. After contacting this firm and hiring them, I was told Ms. Stephanie would be handling my case. After having my court date I am extremely please with her actions as a lawyer and the outcome. Not only did she ask what sounded like all the right questions, the ones you would imagine hearing on a tv show like law and order as this was my first time in court. But she convinced the judge to take evidence that usually he wouldn’t accept, got my criminal charge knocked down to an traffic violation. I was able to walk away with a very small fine and avoid any type of incarceration, suspension, criminal history, and a whole lot of more points on my license. Thank you Stephanie!!!

I was not treated like I mattered at all by these people; I was not contacted at all during the 5 months between when I hired them and my court date (which I had to call them and leave several messages to even confirm when I should show up). I was told my lawyer would "research and let me know every step of the way what we were doing" and I couldn't even get her to return my phone calls. I showed up after all this time and was told verbatim what I told her in our initial meeting and that there was nothing we could do, we could plead for a lesser deal if the d.a. was game(and I received a sentence that was no joke the exact same sentence for my crime as stated on the DMV website even after the d.a. accepted her "plea".....yea). Don't waste your money on these people, they won't try and lift a finger to help you and then they'll try and make it seem like they did all they could when in reality you're an easy paycheck and you could've represented yourself if you are a well spoken intelligent person who can do simple research into the system and convey your case to a judge.
