Hired this firm to help my now wife to move out of state. I was told that everything would be resolved fairly quickly and easily (about 2 weeks). After I paid a quite pricy retainer we didn’t hear back from them for about 2 weeks. After not returning calls or texts for another week we finally got to talk to Ben. He told us he had not made any progress. We then got in contact with her ex and came to an agreement outside of the lawyers since we weren’t getting any help from this firm. We then sent them an email outlining what agreement we had come to and asked if they could type it up and send it back to us for approval and then submit it to the courthouse. They said they would. Two more weeks go by and we have heard nothing back from them. After several more attempts we finally get in contact with them. They send us our 2 page agreement that looks nothing like what we had originally requested. We then explained that this was not what the agreement was and that they had neglected to copy in parts of a previous agreement, had gotten the visitation dates wrong, and had the wrong address for us to meet with her ex to pick up and drop off the kids. They said they would make the changes. Another 2 weeks go by and again we have to call and ask several times if they had finished our 2 page document. Finally they send it back. Again it was wrong as they had only corrected the visitation dates. It was then that I noticed that it was notarized by the law firm her ex had hired, and I begin to suspect they had never read much less written this document. We again tell them we need corrections made and outline the changes that need made. We wait another 2 weeks and hear nothing back from this firm. Her ex has now asked if we had signed the papers and reveals to us that he has; we have not signed or even seen them. We call and ask when we will be getting the paperwork as her ex had already received and signed his copy. They said they would get them to us as soon as possible and that they had other clients to look after too. A week later we received another copy that had not included everything that we had previously agreed upon and that the meeting location was incorrect. I noticed that again no signatures from the Barnett’s firm were present anywhere in the document. I now suspected that they were not making an attempt to help us and just letting the other firm handle the paperwork We again tell them it’s not right and outline the corrections that need made. Another 2-3 go by we call and ask about the paperwork. We receive it with her ex’s signature already present. We read through and everything is present but the address to meet is still wrong. We signed it and returned it because we had come to the agreement nearly 3 Months prior. Not only were they slow at getting things back to us Ben was particularly unpleasant to talk to at time and had a general lack of interest in our case as soon as we paid the retainer. Worst experience paying for any service ever. If I could leave a 0 star review I would. Please don’t make the mistake of hiring this firm. They are a waste of time and money.
