Terrible, unprofessional law firm. Do not hire them. My fiancé paid them 1700.00 for a bankruptcy case— nothing was filed. I repeat NOTHING was filed or completed. They take your money but don’t do the work that they are supposed to. Reported to Bar Association. They are fake.

Terrible law firm, hired them in 2013 because my daughter was kidnapped by her mother. 2017 over 10 lawyers so much money and my child is still kidnapped all I get for an update is "you attorney has been emailing the opposing attorney". Spent a lot of time and money with this firm. Told me bankruptcy would be done in 3 months. Had to make 3 monthly payments after down payment. They told me to stop paying the Bill's and to let my both cars be repossessed. Already a lie, bankrupcy starts at this point. Every other wk it was updated bank statements then payroll updates then new copies of bill statements. This went on and on. Finally got so upset I told them I was not going forward. Almost a year and I hadn't even gotten to a hearing date. They gave me back the fee I paid for court hearing.but said I was not untitled to any refund. Should have checked them out before hand.

I did recently get a check for the exact amount of my filing fee though; guess they couldn't legally keep that. Please pick a firm that has more personalized care and doesn't bounce you from one overworked paralegal to the other.

Please stay far away from this company! After 3 years, our lawyer Toyna L.Young disappeared without a trace. Our paperwork was never filed properly through the court. A complete waste of time and money. Contacted Lawyer ASAP and they only refunded me half of my money. No explanation or apology, how professional. Listen and learn from all these reviews.

Englett is a crook. He figured by changing his name, and moving from downtown Orlando, people would forget who he was - NOPE! Was advised to join the class action lawsuit against him where we will be taking our $6,000+ paid out to him, plus interest. We’ve already sent his company a certified bill, and they have 30 days to respond or make the payment in full. If not, the amount will be forward to a collections agency for enforcement, and his company’s credit rating will be affected. This is sweet justice.

I regret working with this firm. They charge nearly $3000 but you do all of the work. There's little to no communication and when you do get someone they act as if it is an inconvenience to answer your questions. They upcharge for nearly everything and even though you are sending them your collection notices when its finalkybtime to file they have none of the information. If you can find another firm to help you.

Gave them down payment 1700 and sent my paperwork only for them to lose it, change lawyers and intake personnel not qualified, also conned me into credit clean up service another waste of money. This used to be KEL, the most work I ever saw them do after they wasting several years of retainers was a motion to remove themselves from my defense as I lost my home to Bank of America. I would not recommend associating with the now split Kaufman, Englett, & Lynd. They fail to deliver results.

Hired them for foreclosure defense and I lost the case. They wanted to suck more money out of my credit card even when the contract was expired they still withdrew money. I had to call my credit card to dispute and block their merchant account. Stay away from this law firm.

These lawyers don’t take care of people at all. Especially Veterans, they treated me like scum. It took them 2 years to file my Chapter 7, and I lost $11,000 in garnishments and completely lost my tax returns for two years. Turns out Matt Englett’s license to practice was suspended for three months a year ago for un-ethical practices Jose Lopez was my lawyer and he was completely uselesus. I’m soo disappointed in my Latino family to see such malicious practice against their own people. Also If you tell them the truth, they will use it against you, they will kick you when you are down. I went through three lawyers, and five paralegals during my time with them. Stay away people, go to a better more ethically compliant team. Don’t pay attention to other fake Trumped up reviews on here, listen to the real reviews, they are the real testimonials. I’m infuriated that the state of Florida allows these people to keep their doors open.

I am disabled and so is my brother and we were taken advantage by La law lawyer ASAP take $3,999 and only want to give you back so much money don't even want to give back the whole thing and never even went to court for me just close my case

Absolutely horrible experience. They said that they could modify my mortgage and could not - after trying TWICE. Then they said that I could keep the home if I declared bankruptcy. They said that the Chapter 13 payment would be reasonable - it was OVER $4,000 per month.
I would not waste your time or money with these people.

Don't waste your time with this firm. They don't return your calls, even after two weeks waiting. They change /let go your assigned legal personnel and don't tell you who your next rep is until you have to actually go in and complain. To much to go into detail. Bottom line. Seek another firm.

Like you all stated, they get your money and you don't hear from them again. I have sent emails, left messages, and no one calls back or responds to messages. I don't know what to do at this point.

Paid $1000 To Get my wages stopped from being garnished with a baby on the way thinking everything was in the process of getting stopped . Just to call today after not hearing from them when we were suppose to LAST Monday to get told they refunded our money & they can't do our case . Not even a simple phone call to let us know "hey we can't go through with the process , but here's your money back" then wanted us to pay them over $2000 to file bankruptcy when I have lawyer that'll do it for $1865 . They are a scam & should've listened when we were told not to go through with him !

I don’t normally post reviews, but I wanted to share my story, because I feel like it changed my life. I was at financial crossroad in my life and didn’t know where to turn. I didn’t really even know what my legal options were at the time, if any. I remember listening to Matt Englett on the radio some time back and remember thinking he had a lot of good advice when answering listener questions, so I decided to call his firm. When I called I was put in touch with a Ms. Hogue and after listening to my story, she had a lot of good advice, and to my surprise, I had a lot of legal options that I could use to my advantage. As much as I hate to admit it, I felt like a huge burden was lifted, but I still wanted to think everything through before deciding what route I should take….I decided to call back a few days later after talking everything over with my wife. Long story short, I decided to retain LawyerASAP, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I could’ve made at the time. The legal process for my personal situation wasn’t easy and to be honest it was a big pain with all of the documentation gathering, etc., but the whole time I felt like they were there to guide me through it and to assure me that it would get better, if only I hang in there. Reluctantly I continued to follow their advice and let the process run its course, and what a difference it made once I exited from what I call “My Dark Period.” Thank you so much for helping my family and I and a big shout out to everyone who was involved with my case!!

I've never meet a lawyer so unprofessional in my life. It took two weeks to always get a respond. And not only did i pay 4,000 not once did they help i had a hearing one time and she didn't even know i had to call them and let them know i had a hearing. After everything she told me it would be done between my time frame nothing even get finish. I had a case for child custody to relocate and im so very disappointment you have no idea. I am very upset with this firm!!!!! I have paid in $1400 dollars to file bankruptcy. I am a single mom raising three kids on my income, no state help, no help from there father that walked out of our lives. I was forced to move and could not come up with the filing fee right away after paying all my attorney fees. I have been calling this week to pay the filing fee and complete the process. I was told my account is closed. No letter sent, no phone call, just closed. No-one will get back to me either to explain why I am not getting my $1400 back!!!!

Im not one to go on social media to complain but this needed to be addressed. WORST attorneys office to work with! Just like everyone else has said, communication is HORRIBLE! I have kept logs of emails and phone calls where we have tried to get assistance with the paperwork. The client pays all the money and the client has to do all the research! We've called other attorneys and that is not the case with them. After the numerous phone calls with no responce we had to drive from Jacksonville to Orlando just to meet face to face with someone to address our concerns. There again after meeting with them and calls placed to them for assistance and no return calls, we are now being told they will not represent us. Oh and the $1300-1500 that was paid, they will not refund. They offered $200 refund that's all. They could have made this right but didn't. They couldn't even call us to discuss the matter. Now I know why they wanted everything up front! DO NOT HIRE THEM! Please research lawfirms before picking the first one.

I wish I would have read the reviews before I hired this firm to help with a child support case. By far the worst communication, 5 different attorneys that we know of and nothing has been accomplished. A year later and I'm still in the exact same position less almost $3000 dollars.

Once they get paid they could not care less what happens. Almost impossible to speak to your attorney directly. But when you owe they are hounding you with reminders. Very poor representation and customer service.

If zero stars were available, I would give them none at all. From the beginning they've done a terrible job of communicating. I had to start either a bankruptcy or a foreclosure - thanks to my ex-husband. The financial adviser and paralegal convinced me that the bankruptcy was the better option. I was starting a new job a few weeks after I met with them and they were aware of the pay increase. They stated that if I paid it off in six weeks and started the proceedings, I would still be eligible for Chapter 7. So, I did - and than began the extensive paperwork. Had they communicated the amount of paperwork I would have to provide them with ahead of time, I could have had it prepared when I finished paying off the initial fees. But they didn't so it took about 3 weeks to track everything down. Then it took them almost 3 months to get back with me and to file my case. By then I no longer qualified for Chapter 7. Literally every time I talk to them, the story changes or pieces of information that would have been beneficial to know earlier are provided as an after-thought. Chapter 13 is my absolute worst nightmare. The Trustee has been unimaginably difficult to work with. I am stuck dealing with this for five years - I would have rather not done this at all and just dealt with the consequences. I feel like it was intentionally drug out, so that I would have to pay them a bunch of additional money - as Chapter 13 is closer to $5,000. Such a freaking nightmare.

This was the worst firm I have ever delt with in my life. My girlfriend gave them 2500 cash right up front they basically took that money and ran they did absolutely nothing. You can't talk to anyone they don't call back there's zero communication but however once in a while someone will answer the phone and acts dumber than a bag of rocks and is rude as can be pretty much useless how they are still in business i don't know. Horrible service. If I had read reviews before hiring them I would have ran out. They promised us to help on our bankruptcy over 1 year ago and then they suddenly closed our case. Poor communication, people getting fired and we have to resend everything again, system got corrupted and lost my case and had to restart all over. They declined to refund me. Spoke today to the owner, very arrogant, said my case is closed and they won't be able to handle it, asked for money back and he declined.

I have a suggestion, let's get together and see if we can get a class laws suit on them.

I paid them to do a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Could only speak to paralegals. They agreed to put my file on hold while i waited for more medical bills to come in so I could include them. Then they sent me a letter dated a month BEFORE the postmark saying they no longer represent me.

Don't waste your time,they are not lawyers but thieves. Your initial conversation will not be with a lawyer, they will not do anything for your case, they will not have anyone contact you, you will constantly leave messages with no return calls, they won't give you the refund that is on their agreement..these people actually get no stars..STAY AWAY!!!!

I feel after they get their money you can not get a hold of anyone . The girls that answer the phones will just forward the call to a extension number. Our Lawyer left and we don't know who the new lawyer is and I ask the girl that answer the phone, please do not put me on hold and she did anyway. The only way the girls answer the phone is if you it 1 for new client. I would tell people to go somewhere else. I had 3 cases with them and you don't t see them until the court date. Being a Paralegal and on the other side of one of their cases is an absolute NIGHTMARE, they never respond to e-mails or calls to schedule things, they file incomplete things such as Financial Affidavits with the courts without their clients signing them and them being notarized which holds up the case, I have never seen a FIRM SO UN-PROFESSIONAL IT'S SICK.... Do not use these scammers!!! They took my money and never did anything on my case. Weeks went by, didn't hear a thing from them until a payment was due. Come to find out the person "working" on my case no longer worked there and I was never informed. Canceled my services with them 3 months ago and still have not received my refund or heard a word from them. Filed a complaint with consumer financial bureau, hoping they can help get my money back that I need to use on a real lawyer.

These people are crooks, many of the same folks from KEL, just changed it's name. They dropped the ball, and did not do the work on my case. They never filed the paper work.

Staffing issues, computer issues and poor customer service caused me to request a refund which our written agreement said we could.

My sister made the mistake of using them for her uncontested divorce. She is now on her 5th assigned attorney, and something that should take 2-3 weeks, is in week 8. She had to send point out errors, such as wrong names on paperwork No customer support. So far out $1600 with nothing to show for it. They use an assembly line approach, no one takes ownership. BUYER BEWARE.

Horrible service. Cant get a hold of any "legal team members" who are working on our case. It is more than 6 months, several emails in past few weeks, no response, several messages left to various parties no response. Horrible!! I wish I had read the reviews before I attempted to use this law firm. I made my final payment with this firm in January of 2015 since the. I have had no contact form the company on my case status except those stupid letters in the mail about " the attorney working on my case has left the company do you wish to keep your case with KEL?" Since my attorney changes so much every time I call I don't know who I'm supposed to speak with so the receptionist has to tell me and transfer me to that persons voicemail. Because they are either always busy or on a call. I never receive a call back. I cancelled my retainer and asked for my money back now they said it takes up to 7 weeks but still I have heard nothing from them.

Walk away!!! They will take your money and run. I paid $1500 and then decided not to go through with my case, and that was in MARCH 2016....now is JULY 2016, and I still don't have my money refunded.

I paid KEL, in full, for services which they have not performed. My final payment was sent in in late November and the last time I received any contact from that department, whatsoever, was in early December. It's been 7 months, SEVEN MONTHS, since I have been able to reach ANYONE in this department, yet I receive calls from other departments about once a week trying to get me to pay for additional services! It's absurd!! KEL STOLE MY MONEY and they have the stones to try and get more out of me!!! I have left messages, spoken with other departments, and have asked (anyone who I can actually reach) repeatedly for my money back and still no response. No callbacks, no emails, just unreturned voicemails and being left on hold for hours until I finally give up and hang up the phone. I WANT MY MONEY BACK, YOU GREEDY UNPROFESSIONAL THIEVES!!!! I'm seriously considering hiring a REAL lawyer to help me with these CROOKS who call themselves lawyers. KEL HAS ZERO INTEGRITY!!!

Now known as "Lawyer ASAP", This firm will communicate very well with you until they have your money -- then, it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to return an e-mail or a call. Rude paralegals! After speaking with other attorneys, it is clear that the initial $1500 I was charged to "study" my case was an exorbitant overcharge, since the issue was a simple matter, with adequate prior case law in place, that any halfway competent attorney would have figured out in the course of a 10 minute conversation. Unfortunately I didn't know it at the time I gave permission to proceed. These are the types of attorneys that give attorneys a bad name. If I could give zero stars, I would do so. Unfortunately I have to leave one star as the minimum rating.

This firm does not deserve a star and I would not have put one. The only reason I did is because you have to in order to post a comment. They are quick to send someone to your house to collect a check and they are quick to call you and send you messages that a payment is due. Once they have your money that is IT. They forget about you and never call you again or follow up. When you call the office to see what's going on with your case the girl acts like she doesn't even want to talk to you or be there. Maybe you should quit and let someone that needs a job work there. Stay away from these people.....it's all a big scam. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

They got the paper work done. But after the court hearing I can not get a return phone call. Never got an email updating who my current Atty. is now ( no email update ). Can't get IRS paper work filed. DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE.

They talk a big game they take your and then they assign you to a attorney that follows up once during the whole process. I mean your literally left in the dark about your case. A few month later your getting a letter from the florida bar saying that your attorney is no longer your attorney or a attorney for kel. So basically my attorney got fired after giving them 6 thousand dollars. This is happening to me and i can't believe it. Two month went by and kel hasnt responded to any of my messages or have assigned me a new attorney or have even made the attempt to reach out to me. So as far as my case iam going to loose it all because i trusted kel and i got burned. How am i supposed to trust lawyers now?

They make all sorts of promises and then, once you have paid all their fees, they don't answer phone calls, don't return emails, and if you go to the office, you are told they are "unavailable all day".

I never SAW an attorney. The intake was done by a paralegal. When the paralegal had collected all of the pertinent information and fees, I was granted an intercom interview with someone identified as an attorney who talked at me and then finished each declarative by growling at me, "Do you understand?" I felt intimidated, bullied and judged that because my case was a bankruptcy I was made to feel *less than* and not worthy of any effort whatsoever.

They have it written into their contract that should you not follow through with them (this must happen a lot to have it written in this way), they get to keep the money no matter what. Which means they are roundly paid for Services Not Rendered.

Their whole approach is like some horrid scam and no decent, law abiding law firm, or conscientious officers of the court would ever conduct themselves is such lowly terms.

I became so upset at their terrible treatment that I discharged this firm, knowing I would lose the money, and hired a reputable sole practitioner with twenty-three years experience.

Englett & Associates, DBA LawyersASAP are a disgrace to the legal profession and people who have been so unfortunate to have been ensnared by them need to complain to the Florida Bar Association.

My husband paid them a year ago and still they have not filed his bankruptcy , every month they keep asking for the same papers ! It is so frustrating ! I need answers ASAP otherwise we will retain another actual "attorney" and contact the local media .

Terrible waste of time and money. I trusted them to represent me with issues very important to me and what I end up getting and how I end up being treated is one file at the bottom of a very big stack. Communication is horrible, I wasted so much time chasing people for answers. Nothing ever got done with a sense of urgency. Next to everyone you deal with could care less about you. It's all about the check to this firm. I now realize they changed their name to Lawyer ASAP to get out from under the dark cloud they had over them with KEL. I hope people are smarter than I was and read these honest reviews before they throw thousands of dollars of their hard earned money in the trash like I did.

I wish 0 stars were an option. I would NOT recommend this LawOffice. They have poor practices within their management team. I went on A Friday to talk about a situation paid a $500 deposit. I should have went home and thought about it 1st but I jumped the gun. So by Monday I had decided that I needed to make changes. I called to stop everything and it took them until June to tell me I would NOT be getting my $500 deposit back. All because I went to a "free" consultation on a Friday and by Monday called to cancel. I wish I had of done my homework better. Again a lesson I have learned the hard way. I would have saw all the bad reviews they already have. This office is really good at taking your money but not at communicating or being fair. Complete and total rip off. Don't waste your time or your money.

Jesse Neyer, didn't even do his research on our case, they're good taking your money but horrible at their job. They'll tell you yeah you got a case , they charge you, you pay then they'll tell oh yeah you have no CASE. run away...

Terrible, just terrible. They wait till last minute to file any paperwork, lose emails with docs, and wait for circumstantial events to prolong their procrastination. When they don't deliver, a full refund will not even be available. They suck!!!!

They are HORRIBLE, don't not contact at all. Talked to a lawyer in Tampa. Not heard from him in weeks. l've been through 5 lawyers now going over my case in Orlando, plus the one i don't hear from in Tampa, who l started with. They are not rated #1, rated 0!! Don't waste your time.

Awful! This firm is the Walmart of attorneys. They have a different person contact you for everything. You never know who your main contact is and when you attempt to contact them, good luck hearing back. The communication is hands down the worst I've ever experienced. Spend the few extra dollars and aquire an attorney that cares. These people reel you in hoping to sue other companies to make more money, meanwhile showing no sympathy for your case.

STAY AWAY!!!! Google KEL complaints and reviews, don't believe the good reviews here. These people only care about the retainer once they get that, then they will surely ask you for more money for more delays and lies!! I am in the process of filing complaints with the bar, the AGs office and well as the BBB which I believe they resign from for getting a F rating. I wish I had did my homework before hiring these unprofessional snakes if so I would still have $2,000... CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED. ALSO they have changed their name so what does that tell you.

This law firm is a joke. My wife has been through 8 different paralegal. No one likes to return a call after emails and several calls left on voicemail. They are crooks. They received 54 thousand dollars and still charging her outrageous things that doesn't make sense and when you ask them they have no answers. I would suggest for u all to learn from our experience they won't do what's best for you. You have been warned

STAY AWAY. Unprofessional as unprofessional can get. They just want your money and once they recive payment. The attention is gone. I been contacted more times before I paid them then I did after I paid them. You want a call back wait 48 hours if your lucky. They sure did know how to call back within a hour before I made a payment. Then they will call you to ask for more money. If I could give it zero stars I would. I'm confused as to how they have a good rating. not only can't I recommend them them but I would tell you to avoid then at all cost. After viewing the reviews of other people. The majority of the reviews look like the same person is giving five star reviews. The names are very generic and the sentence structures look very similar.

KEL did not live up to their promises, period. They handed my case off to a paralegal that was awful at communication, did nothing to represent us, and provided very little value. Now that we've not been able to settle, we've lost money giving it to KEL. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. Hands down.

Since signing on with KEL my experience has been horrible. My attorneys and paralegals have been changed so many times, there is no continuity with my case. I have not been kept informed of the dealings of my case in a timely manner. when I call i get voicemail with no response. I send emails to my both the attorney and the paralegal and still get little response if any. I have been assigned new lawyer and paralegal for my case the third or fourth since I started a year ago. This attorney is doing barely anything to ensure I have a strong case. I am not knowledgeable about divorce matters and depended upon my lawyer to help me.

I would recommend these attorneys. I want to leave here a special thanks to Sharon Freeman with KEL attorneys' office in Orlando, FL. She has been helping me with my case and at all times has been very efficient, courteous, helpful, and a great professional.
