Well, where do I start? This office is incompetent. When they fail to subpoena a key witness to a trial and the victims is left with no Justice, that is incompetent. So they basically dropped charges on the man who damaged my vehicle and my kids mentality. All because their office does not know what they are doing. I spoke to Michael Allen who is the deputy District attorney and who told me that it was their offices error and he apologized, yet he refuses to take any accountability at all. This is not the way people should be treated. Maybe it was because my kid is transgender? I will be making a formal legal complaint to this man's boss.

I work for the Department of Justice; however, I am not representing the DOJ in this review. I live out of state and have had to deal with the Family Court on several occasions. I find the Family Court and specifically Magistrate Trujillo and Magistrate Peacock do not deal in Justice or Truth they deal in self serving power and money. I find the family court is generally hostile to men and even more so to men that attempt to represent themselves. Magistrate Trujillo has no problem dragging me into his court over any minor accusation from my ex-wife regardless if she serves me, shows any type of proof, etc BUT when I am denied visitation of my kids by their mother my motion is denied 2 times before granting a hearing AND he let her off because I somehow could not prove she was supposed to let me see my children even though the order was on file with the 4th district court. I even had it in my hands but did not give it to him at the correct moment due to him misleading me in court. Wake up Colorado these Judges serve you not the other way around. You are letting these court officials execute their version of the law. They need to be reigned in. I work with felonious inmates that see their children more than I can see my own.

Woman named Linda "we dont give out last names" was extremely rude. Refusing to assist me in any way. Telling me if she answered any of my questions she would be fired. All I asked was what department I needed.

Very unhelpful, this place does NOT help victims at all, had to contact the DA myself in order to get any sort of information regarding the case, when the DA (Angelina) finally called back she right away let me know that the case would not be taken into consideration as much and wasn’t serious, told her I was being harassed and my home vandalized because of this whole situation and she didn’t care to hear it, she stated they will give the defendant a plea to go to DV therapy and that’s all, another court has passed and more vandilizing has happened and pressure from the defendants family, called the DA numerous times regarding this case and left several voicemails and still no call back from her at all. This is horrible and no one deserves for this to happen like this, I don’t understand how this people still have a job.

A true mockery to justice , the fourth district is a disgrace to this country and the freedom we have . You are not a citizen of this country in their eyes , you are a means to profit . They will leave you destitute and broken and still come for their blood price.

You would think that they wouldn't let people take advantage of minors. But the court does! Now I am in dept and will not get the money I sued for because they "do not have to make someone pay". Thank you for putting me through all of that stress and debt.

Not helpful in directing calls or giving information. The first lady directed my call by accident when she ment to put me on hold so she could look up some information (Im sure it happens occassionally). Once I called back a different lady answered (like usual offices), however, this time the lady was rude and unhelpful. Essentially becoming hostile with me because I didn't know how her office operated. I had my case #, name, and explained i was unsure of what division I needed. The phone call ended with us determining that I should call back in a few days because they didn't have my case yet. I suggest you learn the entire layout and workings of this office because the people answering the phones barely know themselves.

Absolutely DISGUSTING! THIS MURDER FOLLOWED A VETERAN AFTER INITIAL CONFRONTATION! AND MURDERED HIM! Read the article

Prosecutors on Monday agreed to dismiss first-degree murder charges against a man who fatally shot an Army veteran after an apparent traffic dispute in east Colorado Springs.

Averting a potential life term in prison, Charles Valentino Lobato, 31, pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter in the January 2018 shooting of Shawnee Tapia. The lesser charge normally is punished by four to eight years in prison.

The plea deal comes five months after attorneys for Lobato argued during a preliminary hearing in November that he fired in self-defense.

A surveillance video screened in court showed that Lobato and Tapia nearly collided in a parking lot outside Del Taco, 3855 Astrozon Blvd.

When Tapia, 35, an Afghanistan veteran and married father of two, continued to Astro Liquors, 3826 Astrozon Blvd., Lobato followed and pulled up behind him, police say.

Dark, grainy footage captures a brief face-to-face confrontation before Tapia staggers away and collapses.

Where Colorado Springs police saw evidence of an apparent murder, Lobato’s attorneys argued the video captured him in a fight for his life. They pointed out that a knife was found lying next to the dead man and that he was known to be armed.

The murder charge dismissal marks the second break for Lobato in his case.

At one point during the nine-month manhunt that led to his arrest at a Castle Rock motel, he fired on law enforcement officers while eluding arrest, the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office reported last year. But authorities were unable to support the allegations and no additional charges were filed against him.

Lobato is due to be sentenced June 24 by 4th Judicial District Judge Jill Brady.

extremely hard to get a hold of (its not like they will go to jail if they dont do their job) , barely do their own jobs, even the judges hate them, this system truly is a joke, just another form of revenue for the city, no justice here, they would rather have you do community service for a private organization than raise your own kids, even if it completely ruins your financial stability they dont want to help you, you potentially might commit more crimes which could lead you back here making them more money if you happen to be poor or struggling. dont believe the hype, go live somewhere else with less people. dirty building in a dirty city that thinks community service is working for a private organization like a church or goodwill, not cleaning up the streets that cause people to slide on debris, and making it a criminal offense to hit a car from behind. our tax dollars well spent. you ow that kid that sweeps all his trash under his bed and tell s his mom his room is clean? thats our justice system.

Have tried for several weeks to get ahold of my court appointed attorney. Left several messages and stopped by in person many times to try and get ahold of this man to no avail. This system is a complete joke and waste of time.
