They're expensive but after 11 months we won a very difficult case

We have used Shumway Van Law Firm for many years. They have always been courteous, friendly and quick to respond to any issue that we have had. They also take care of all of our annual licensing issues without fail. I feel confident that they could handle any problem I presented to them. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

First I Want To start By Stating True Facts. From Day One I made Contact With Attorney Miss Elizabeth Aronson, She Was Indeed a real Positive Experience and Pleasant As Well. From The Young Lady Up in The front Desk to Everyone Inside This Location, All were Indeed Extremely Respectful and No Doubt Honest. I Can See The Structure Of This Law Firm Been Well Stablished and Well Respected By Our Community. Miss Elizabeth Was always Persistent and Consistent with a Positive Attitude towards Any Communication We Had, Always acted With a High Level Of Professionalism. I Feel Comfortable To Recommend This Law Firm To any One In the Need of a Honest and Proffesional Law Firm.

In my opinion, things have seriously changed for the worse (see my previous 5-star review below) over the past few years after the departure of service-oriented personnel, such as attorney Ms. DeFlyer and Ms. Barker, among others (notice the sharp drop-off in reviews, which were overwhelmingly positive).

Unaccountable, unresponsive, and ultimately unworthy of my recommendation until it is remembered that they PROVIDE SERVICE for their clients for the DURATION of the case.

“Focus on service”, “Core Values”, and “Efficiency in the practice of law"

With promises like that, I never expected the mid-case lack of service I have experienced , especially from what used to be a prestigious law firm.

There is still time left to make things right. Hopefully someone can pick up the mantle and follow through in returning this firm to greatness.

Crazy expensive

I reached out to Shumway-Van for some legal representation for my business. Doug handled my case with the utmost respect and professionalism. He made the entire process very easy for me and provided me with updates regularly. In the end, he was able to resolve my situation far beyond my expectations. I have worked with Mike Van for 5 years. If you need a lawyer for any reason call Mike. They do what they say they will. Always fair with pricing.

Once you have completed your case with this attorney and have hanging questions, that's where they drop you.

Try calling for a question that is important to us where my home should of been a reaffirmation, it's states this on my chapter paper work, and it was not done, no one pointed this out to us, Not good!

We have been waiting for someone to help us with what this law firm had not completed since the end of June and it's now Oct 1st!

Horrible experience with this law firm!
We paid for the 1st Chapter, were told would not be a problem, then they said it could not be done, so we paid for a different chapter, said that would be better, second payment for this one and then they left us with the above hanging!. Not good!

Find a honest, experience and most of all professional law firm, where they call you back! not this one!

I would like to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to Shumway Van, especially Michael Van. I came to his office after 2 years of an on going divorce when my former attorney dropped me like a sack of potatoes and then put a $58,000 attorneys lien on my case. I am a single mother that just had a 6 month old baby, no money, a high asset case and a husband that was out to destroy me. Without legal representation, I would be without anything and in extreme debt. I went to other lawyers to try and take on this case and none of them would do it without a very large retainer and I would have to pay my bill every month or they would drop me. I was in such despair not knowing what to do when I read some reviews online about Michael Van and saw that he was an excellent attorney. I then called his office and set up a time to meet with him. I told him my situation and that I did not have the ability to pay him endless amount of money and asked him if we could do some money upfront and work something out at the end. After meeting him, I was convinced that he was the man that could get the job done. He even hugged me and told me that he had my back. He told me that I could trust him and that he would not let me down like my former attorney. I just could not believe it. What a man, what an attorney. This is so hard to find especially in Las Vegas where everyone seems to be so corrupt. Micheal Van is one of the few attorneys that actually puts his client's needs first. Also, he is a beast in the courtroom and a force to be reckoned with. I consulted with Ed Kainen, and he himself told me that Micheal Van is a very competent attorney. My husband's counsel at the time was, Jim Jimmerson and Micheal Van had no issues dealing with him and assured me that we got this. When I saw how he performed in court, I was amazed.
