Hired this guy a year a go for a divorce. Paid the $2,500 retainer fee, he has yet done anything. Anytime we call to make an appointment, they say they will call back. They NEVER do. Waste of money. Want the fees back so I can handle it myself

Shows up late for court, and way over charges for services. If you decide to hire you will learn first hand what it’s like dealing with America’s worst lawyer. Truly hope the right individual turns him into the California Bar Association. He makes a better paralegal vs lawyer. I’m surprised he passed the bar exam, and providing legal services to the Bakersfield community. My only option was to take loss, and hire a real professional. My opponent had said some very disturbing things to say about our case but Thompson reminded me of a protective bull dog and shut them down fast and he stood up for me. He got me everything I was asking for so my son is safe. My opponent kept pressuring me and losing his temper with me in order to get me to bend to what he wanted. That's when Thompson stepped in and my opponent backed down quickly. Thompson was aggressive and extremely helpful! I feel like my son still gets time with his father and my son will be protected while with him. I couldn't thank Thompson enough for how he helped me. Thomson helped me put a drug and alcohol test in place to keep my sons father sober. My opponent also agreed to take classes for domestic violence. Thompson was my hero. If I ever need help in the future I will be coming back!

Mr. Thompson is the worst attorney my sister has ever hired. His attorney fees are very reasonable but remember, "you get what you pay for." He charged my sister a flat fee of $7,500 to handle her divorce. When he took our family money, he made a lot of promises but did not deliver. My sister requested a restraining order and he said he would take care of it asap. After 3 months nothing was done. At the first court hearing, he was a no show. The second time, he mixed my sister's case with someone else and the judge postponed the hearing until he filed the papers correctly. In the meantime, my sister continued to be verbally abused and harassed by her husband. After 4 months and continuing to make monthly payments, he has done absolutely nothing with my sister's case. My sister recently went into his office and fired him. Unfortunate he kept our money since there are no refunds. I plead to you not to hire him. You could do a better and faster job representing yourself in court.

Me and my fiance went through him and it was the absolute most horrible experience ever. He talked a good game when we had our consult and had us believe after paying that he would get a reduced amount for my fiance on his child support and that was a lie it went up instead. And as for visitation he didn't even show up to court at all when he was supposed to be there and it ended up getting worse to where now my fiance has less time with his kids.
He hardly ever notified us of anything at all. He has poor communication with his clients. He is also very unprofessional. The other people who work in the court even agreed he was an idiot. The attorney that was doing the child support with us at the window was blasting him telling him how he burned bridges with her.
His staff is really rude as well.
This office is a complete waste of ur money. The only one who tries to help out is his receptionist at the window.

Asked for joint custody for my daughter of 3 years, visitation rights. He never showed up in Court in San Diego nor would answer the "Judges" calls to his firm due to him always being out. The only time he called in was about a year later to ask to be substitued out and no longer have anything to do with this case. This thompson guy Gave my rights as a father taken away and was forced to pay my wife about $2,300 a month for child and spousal support with no visitation what so ever. The secretaries never know whats going on and will never answer a simple questions.PLEEEEASE Do not waste your time or money on this guy. Maybe hes good at speeding tickets but he is 100% incompetent with divorce and child custody cases. Your better off doing the court paperwork by yourself.

He doesn’t defend you in court ! I was very dissapointed in him. I had faith in him and he let my family and myself down. He allowed the other party to lie and continually lie and didn’t defend me whatsoever. He made me look bad, when I have no record , now cps record, no bad record at all. And had my son taken from me when I had my son since birth!! . He didn’t defend me at all. Just took my money. Now I go back to court and I win on my own. Don’t waste your time !!!

Sorry to bother you but when I hired your services was with the illusion that I would not have the bad experience that some people have had. I was initially very impressed with this company. I felt like I was treated like more than just a paycheck. As I got into my divorce and needing to communicate with anyone that could update me on my case, what I needed to do, and where I was in everything I could not get answers. No one would follow through with a phone call, email, or any type of response.
My husband was served and given a court date and I never received notification of the packet being sent out, I told them I would serve my husband to save a little money, and was never notified. (He had to be served twice and I asked both times) I never even received the court date or the packet until a couple days before court. This lack of communication was (and is still) present throughout the whole process and I am very disappointed.
When my initial divorce packet was filed and served to my husband it did NOT include the things I spoke to Mr. Thompson about. He decided to omit all of my property without ever discussing it with me. My husband never responded so I could have filed a default packet and been done with everything. Because of the gross oversight, I had to re-serve my husband and hope to God that he would not fight me on the new packet. Not only is this dragging on way longer than it should have, but I call to see if I can get an update on our second default packet and have yet to hear back from anyone. This is costing me more because of the oversight and double work, and I still have no one to communicate with.
If you have time to waste and don't really care about what is going on, being informed, or being taken advantage of, this is a good place to file your divorce. Good Luck
