Mark Simpson has now reached out to me to rectify the situation. He has been very responsive and transparent. I believe there was a miscommunication between the service I was asking for and the coverage through Hyatt Legal Plans. We are on our way to making me a satisfied client.
Previous review of 1 star --> I reached out to Mark Simpson on November 12th to help draft my family's will under my husband's legal plan through UPS. He took down all of my information, asked me who my child would go to if something were to happen, and who my beneficiary would be if something were to happen to my husband and I. He told me he would call me when everything was ready to be signed and witnessed.
Over the last two months, I have called 5 different times, left 3 voicemails, and sent 3 emails to do my due diligence of following up. I have YET to hear from Mr. Simpson. I'm beyond annoyed and would never recommend this firm.

Mr. Kirkland, We engaged Mr. Newton to represent us, not you. You were brought in by him shortly afterwards, we were told, to "assist him" due to personal issues that had come up. However, we were assured he would remain involved. Per your email to me dated May 15, 2014 - this would confirm that. As to satisfaction, I cannot fathom how you determined we were pleased when I sat in your office and made the comment that when I enlisted in the Army, I did not have the option to say that I did not want to defend lying, thieving politicians such as Stewart. I was against the compromise and adamant about filing suit even though you intimidated my wife about depositions and trial. I have been through depositions and trials many times and this was a simple breach of contract issue. As to the endorsement of Stewart by Mr. Newton, you can say what you want. This should have been disclosed to us at the time and is in my opinion unethical. It took several days after hiring Mr. Newton to be told that he had run previously against Stewart. We were assured though that that would have no bearing on the handling - a red flag that went unnoticed by me at the time! His endorsement, whether potential or actual at the time, should have been disclosed. I have worked with numerous attorneys over the past 40yrs on arson, fraud and subrogation cases. In every instance, we were informed of any, even minor, potential conflicts of interest. As to the four years, I have now been a resident of Sun City and SC for several years and - it’s election time. Time to put my thoughts and opinions out there for people to see.

Worst representation I have ever received. In 2014, I engaged Mr. Newton to represent me in a simple breach of contract suit against a local councilman. It took him almost 2 weeks to tell us he had run against him in a prior election but, we were assured it would not be an issue. Later, we were told by an attorney helping him we only stood a 50/50 chance of winning in the courts because we were moving from No VA and down here, they remember their history and heritage. When asked what that had to do with anything, he asked if we knew the difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee. When I said no, he replied - Damn Yankees don't go home. I consider him unethical as he did not advise of his endorsement of the councilman which, had we known, would have resulted in us finding another attorney and I found his handling completely unacceptable. As a US Army veteran, I wanted someone with morals, ethics and integrity - things I found completely lacking.
Mr Weston N is a wealth of information. He is my to go guy in The Lowcountry when it comes to anything law related. He always has a great solution for us.

Jones, Simpson & Newton, PA is one of the most professional law firms in Beaufort County, SC. The partners make it clear that they work for their clients. One thing is for sure, whether it is a real estate transaction, business contract or a personal injury, you will have a powerhouse attorney that does the right thing behind you. 5-Star no question.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! Ward Borden works for JS&N. He represented Paulette Gosden in a civil suit. Read more about her on FB "Boycott Bad Realtors and Agents". Steer clear of this man and her as well.

Worst experience possible. Screwed up my closing by not adding proper transfers fees in final closing cost documents. Now my HOA is telling me I owe them over $500 that they disclosed to the attorney prior to closing. Asked attorney about the fee she simply said they forgot to add it the final paperwork (but they were aware of the transfer fee). I paid over $3,000 in attorney fees, they simply did not do their job. Not only was my attorney rude when she finally called back after 10 calls but she lied about trying to help fix the situation. Have called over 15 times since the last conversation when she promised she would call back with an answer, have not heard anything. Simply horrible business practices. I understand mistakes happen, but being rude and simply ignoring past clients is no way to do business. Again I have reached out over 30 times and have received 2 phone calls back. Avoid simply for lack of respect they have for their clients. Mistakes happen, being rude and lying to customers I don't agree with.
