One day I drove past a billboard with Attorney McCalep’s information on it I called Tim’s office and from the person at the front desk to Tim himself everyone was understanding and personable. The office did not notify me that Tim would miss my original arraignment in traffic court due to obligations to a higher court, so I missed a half day at work, was stressed, and had to request a new date. At the second arraignment, Tim appeared on my behalf (I didn’t even have to attend) and got my charge greatly reduced. All around very pleased with the result, but I was nervous as my initial trust was broken by the original missed date.

Discussed my sons case with him and he stated he could assist. We did not meet Mr.Mc Calep ONE time. Nor received ANY-communication. On the day of the arraignment one of his training attorneys showed up and met with us 10 minutes before the hearing. You could tell he was fresh out of college) it appears it was his first case because he was asking the public defender for the other guys what did they think on how to handle the case. He proudly spoke stating he graduated from Emory but obviously was incompetent. To make a long story short he encouraged my 17 year old son to take a plea that I would never have agreed to. They obviously realize they threw my son under the bus because they have not contacted me regarding the remainder of the the payment that I owe. I’m very disappointed as I am a single mother and was vulnerable to the system as this was the FIRST time anything has EVER happened. Hard lesson learned, don’t give money to or trust an attorney who does not have a face to face conversation with you...my son has NOT EVER been inANY TROUBLE YOU ARE LYING AND That is DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER! Do NOT PUT SON IN SAME category as the other Defendant! We had been in Georgia less than 8 1/2 months. Research where we moved from!! My son in law needed an attorney for his current legal situation. I spoke with his father in D.C. about Tim. Not only did he NOT get the bond reduced from what his assigned public defender was set to do. He told my son in law to not speak and he would take care of it. As if his word didn't matter. Justin's father drove to Atlanta for a scheduled meeting and Timothy wasn't there. He didn't leave any info for his assistant to give Justin's father. He doesn't accept jail calls so, he couldn't be reached unless my daughter called on 3 way. He doesn't do jail visits and if you can tell a client they can remove you as an attorney if you don't like how things are done.. You can careless. Then, We ask you to get the withdrawal forms together so we can go with a public defender.. You send Alec Johnson to try to talk us out of it. He brings the papers but, forgets them in his car he needed to check on (because he didn't add enough money in the meter). Never returned. I've called a million times only to have Daniel and Breanna tell me the paper work was complete. The Fulton County clerks office had NO trace of paperwork from this office since May 2018 when he was retained. He didn't what he could. He's rude and he really doesn't care one way or another. I don't understand why a person would make it harder on someone who is in jail. Everything you could hope for in a lawyer. Honest from the beginning, easy to communicate with, great at explaining things I didn’t understand, and he kept me updated on the details of my case step for step. He was a little out of my price range but I knew I needed a great lawyer so I explained my financial situation and we came up with very manageable payment plan. I actually missed two court dates and had a warrant issued for my arrest both times (don’t judge me because chances are you’ll be getting judged soon enough or why else would you be looking for a great lawyer)and each time I thought I was going to have to turn myself in to jail AND each time he was able to work it out with the judge and get them lifted. I went to court with it in my mind that I was going to sign for three years probation and to be honest considering my circumstances that would have been a win. He spoke with the judge during the break and returned with news that, not only would I not be on probation but he got me into a 3 month program that upon completion with remove the entire case from my record. I was please with the outcome to say the least.

I want to start by saying, "IF YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY CALL TIMOTHY MCCALEB!" I was wrongfully accused of a criminal charge. I knew I couldn't go with a public defender because my life was on the line. I searched Google for attorneys in the Atl area. I narrowed it down to 4 attorneys and after reading the reviews, Tim stood out. After hiring Tim's office and having a conversation with him, I was confident that he was the guy I needed on my side. He gave me his professional opinion the entire case and i had all the confidence i needed to trust and to follow his lead. Even after being offered a plea deal (which was enticing)(especially as a black male) we decided to fight it and go to trial. LONG STORY SHORT. Tim did such a great job in the opening statement the trial should not have even continued. His cross examination of the accuser, officers, and detectives were so impressive. His presentation of facts and what actually occurred was second to none. The hardest part of my trial was to not smile during his cross examination because he was so good. It was like watching a movie. To conclude, in his closing statement he hit every point. There was nothing he left out. While we waited on the verdict I verbalized to Tim "I don't care what the verdict is, you did your thing!" I couldn't fault him for anything. He was everything you would want in an attorney! IF YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY CALL THE LAW OFFICE OF TIMOTHY MCCALEB!

I hired Mr. McCalep to work my criminal case in which during the first initial interview of him he promised more than he could provide but given all the things that was said I went ahead and hired him hoping that he would believe in me and my case and make something happen out of a bad situation but that’s not what happened. Mr. McCalep took over my case in 2017 in doing so their was bad communication on his part and just overall milking of money from me knowing that I didn’t have a lot. He cooperated with the prosecutor/DA for me to take a plead deal which he never informed me of so when I told him that I was through with his services at that point I had paid him 2200 dollars and expected at least half back because he did not represent me properly I tried for months to audit any paperwork showing any filing of motions or anything to show where he earned that money which he still couldn’t provide and I’ve still haven’t received any money back. I plan on going to the BAR to file a formal complaint and to let them know how McCalep are treating people and taking their money. I would not recommend him or any of his affiliates to try any case.
