The employees are completely incompetent and lazy. You cannot expect them to do their job, much less help you with anything. These issues, combined with the D.A.'s highly partisan politics and propensity for untruth, make this a terrible place to be.

Hello Hillar Moore,

I am writing you from Nashville, TN. I raised 4 children in Houston TX who are now between the ages of 28-34, 1 girl and 3 boys. I am writing concerning Schaquana Spears and her being booked for disciplining her children for breaking and entering and theft of property. I read your statement and am hopefull for both Schaquana and her children that you will really look deep into this. She is obviously not a child abuser, she is a parent who wishes her children to grow into responsible, productive adults and without discipline, that will not happen. My father was a disciplinary parent, if you do wrong there were consequences and whippings were one of his ways, I got my share because for me, I was a rebellious child, but I did learn from this and I was the same with my children who are productive adults with children of their own that they too discipline. Belts leave welts, sometimes break the skin, which will heal....and theft is a BIG deal, an adult will spend time behind bars for being convicted of theft of property over $500, at least here and TX...my hope is that you remind her children that the parent is there to parent, that is their job, if they didn't parent (which so many do not do these days) we would and do have a bunch of disrespectful, dishonest and unaccountable brats running around the US right now because of it. I would also hope that you ease Schaquana's pain by removing the arrest period and of cours not convicting her. She loves her children, provides them with the best she can and will continue to guide them in the right way....This has hit home all over the US....Parents should be able to parent and whipping is completely different than beating which by your statement you agree. I just wanted to tell you that I thank you for your thoughtful review of this particular situation and also, the mother doesn't know me from ADAM, just as she didn't know her Hero who bonded her out....She has the support of responsible parents all over this great USA.

Thank you for listening.
