Ginger poynter was going to charge me 1200 for a uncontested divorce. I went to attorney tom monk he only charged me 487 for a uncontested divorce. I would not recommend Ginger Poynter to anyone.

In my experience, Ginger Poynter is a dishonest and difficult attorney to deal with. I found her billing practices to be unethical, her word to be worthless, and her knowledge of law lacking. Currently I am beginning the process of filing an official complaint.
Allow me to briefly summarize my difficulties with Ms. Poynter so that I might convince you to use a different attorney.
I terminated her services because she simply was not doing as she said she would, and was consequently due back a refund of a portion of the retainer fee I had paid. Obviously my first complaint was that she was not doing as she was supposed to. Phone calls and e-mails took egregiously long to return, and my now ex-wife at the time with whom Ms. Poynter was supposed to be negotiating was unable to have said negotiations because Ms. Poynter was regularly unavailable. And to be clear, I consider three plus days of no response to be unacceptable, and in this case Ms. Poynter took far longer than that on several occasions.
When her services were terminated and an agent on my behalf requested an itemized bill and refund accordingly, Ms. Poynter refused for quite a substantial amount of time to issue the refund. Ultimately the itemized bill was provided, however, with a claim of owing me $100. The itemized bill, however, had several questionable items, such as $20 per e-mail, specifically charging per e-mail sent requesting the bill and refund. So let me be clear, for each e-mail my agent sent asking for an itemized bill and refund on my behalf, I was charged $20. The only reason multiple e-mails were sent was because Ms. Poynter would not answer or comply with the request, and each additional e-mail cost me $20. I find this to be unethical and am using it as the main basis of my official complaint.
When I got involved personally and began questioning this charges, Ms. Poynter ignored me and then ultimately refused to explain the charges. She admitted to owing me $100, which I have written proof of, yet after months I have not even received the $100.
In my opinion, Ms. Poynter is little more than a thief and I would not recommend her for the most rudimentary of legal work. Beware of Ms. Poynter for she lacks honor, as my experience with her has indicated to me, and find someone better. I can say I ended up using Jerry Pilgrim and was pleased. He completed the task of securing my divorce and his total fee was less than what I paid Ms. Poynter to accomplish nothing.

If you want a lawyer call anyone. However, if you want an advocate that will stop at nothing for you, a strong voice for you, one that is very well respected, compassionate, experienced, and a powerhouse in the courtroom, then I strongly recommend Ginger Poytner!
Ginger Poynter worked with me for two year. She helped me finalize my divorce and continues to provide advice to this day. Ginger has two gifts in her portfolio. She is an amazing technical writer and she understands the dynamics of the courtroom. With those two gifts and her knowledge of the law, she will get you through one of the hardest phases of your life. Listen to her advice, follow her lead and you will come out ahead. Ginger is compassionate and will help you navigate the complicated legal system.
