My financial burden began when I was laid off of work in 2009. I elected to become independent and became self-employed. Business was up and down but I was able to keep up with my credit cards by paying the minimum. I tried to protect my credit rating but the high 29% interest rates on my credit cards became too much.
By November of 2012 debt had caught up to me and I was unable to pay my house loan much less my credit cards.
I was threatened with foreclosure effective Jan. 1, 2013, and out of desperation I contacted Herrin Law and made an appointment to meet with Daniel Herrin.
Daniel explained our legal options and immediately filed our case and stopped the foreclosure during our meeting. This was a load off my shoulders and my wife as well. We followed our Attorney's advice closely and began to fill out forms with delight. We attended all the required classes until completion.

I was going to file bankruptcy, and thank God, life turned around for me.

However, I'd paid $900 towards my fees, which Mr. Herrin told me would not be refunded.

As I understand from the advertisement, the initial consultation is free, but or my conversation with Mr. Herrin yesterday, that is not true, and the $900 took care of the initial consultation and a call with one creditor, and his 5 minute call to me.

Definitely not worth the money, and would never recommend.

Without a doubt, Daniel is the best bankruptcy in DFW area. After my discharge, my mortgage company tried collecting fees they forgot to include in my bankruptcy. I fell into some hardship and filed Ch. 13 with a different law firm to save my home until I got back on my feet. Well after making payments for months, they were going to drop my case with prejudice due to the dumb paralegal saying I didn't have enough income to keep the home. They basically told me to kick rocks and be homeless with 3 kids. In a quick panic, I called around and was referred to Herrin Law. This guy is god sent and genius if you ask me. He informed me that by the other law firm dismissing me with prejudice, I wouldn't be able to file 13 again for 3 months causing foreclosure. Pretty harsh right but we won't drop any names (starts with a L) so he suggested I file Ch. 7 for the time being and work with my mortgage company to do a modification. Fast forward to now I ended up putting my house on the market...sold it for much higher than what I paid and now I'm renting a house close to my job until I'm ready to purchase again. Thanks Herrin Law you save us from being on the street and we are forever grateful! Keep up the great work! The world needs people like you!

I only gave one star because I had to in order to leave this review. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT retain this lawyer!! If you do, I would advise that you do not pay any money upfront until you are ready to file your bankruptcy case and have ALL the money in FULL. Even then, I would not do it based on my experience! Daniel Herrin saw me for a consultation on May 19th 2017.

During our meeting on May 19, 2017 I was advised that during the duration of a payment plan, I would still be protected from action against creditors. Apparently, that was false as I contacted the office via email after facing 2 back-to-back repossessions. I asked if I could speak to Daniel, the attorney I met during consultation just for advice. I didn't know if it would be wise to go and finance another vehicle, knowing that I would be filing bankruptcy soon, however if I did I wanted to make sure there was a way I would not lose yet another car. I dealt with Lisa and she basically avoided all my concerns and focused solely on the payment plan amount. My situation was disregarded and request were totally disregarded. After that I no longer had trust in this firm to represent me, and requested a refund. My refund request was denied, stating that it was consumed in fees for all the "work" they did on my behalf. Had to be a joke because they did absolutely nothing on my behalf.

Turns out, the consultation, which is supposed to be free was actually $210 dollars. And Daniel bills $300 an hour! NONE OF THIS WAS DISCLOSED during our meeting. Nor was I ever provided a printed copy of this policy. Had I been provided this documentation or even been verbally advised, I would have never paid a dime until I had all the money up front. I believe this was withheld from me. They did absolutely nothing for me, yet they get to keep $350 of my dollars.

I am a single mother of 4 children on a fixed income. Can barely feed my family, which is why I needed to file bankruptcy. However Daniel does zero work on my bankruptcy case and gets to keep the money I could barely afford to pay in the first place. Had I known this then, I never would have considered using this firm. From what I understand, the consultation is only free if you retain the lawyer. You wont find this information displayed on their website, however you will see a Free Consultation is offered, but here I am wondering why they sent me a time sheet with a total balance of $586.00 dollars? It was not free at all, at least not for me.

Mr. Herrin took my case from my previous lawyer who left the practice. Since I began with Mr. Herrin, he was always friendly, very responsive, and always made me feel like I was a priority. Responds to emails and calls very quickly. Staff is very nice and professional and also very responsive. I will certainly refer my friends and family to Mr. Herrin if they're require the services he provides.

Everyone that works for Herrin Law are friendly, kind and courteous. However, Daniel Herrin goes above and beyond what any other lawyer would do. He has helped me with my bankruptcy but also helped me change my life and my perspective. He is the most caring and honest lawyers that I have ever met. I will never use another lawyer for any purpose~ other than Daniel Herrin. I can't even begin to tell you how nice and considerate and so understanding this man is. I would recommend this lawyer and this law firm to anyone who really needs help. It would be well worth your time and money to visit with them!
