Without Sarah Schaffer and her amazing team, my son and I would not be where we are today. Sarah has always treated us with the utmost professionslism and respect as clients. Her concern and pursuit of our safety, well being and future success has helped me to feel confident about the outcomes and has given me more freedom to be able to focus on my tasks at hand, my job and most importantly, being a mother. I cannot thank the Schaffer Team enough for everything they have done. We are so blessed to have Sarah in our corner!

Sarah is intelligent and driven when working for her clients. She has solid knowledge of family law and drives for the end goal of resolving the conflict instead of prolonging it just to bill more.

We had sought an attorney who was knowledgeable with Military Retirement Pay to former spouse issues. While her website stated she was familiar with Military divorce issues, we found ourselves constantly questioning if she was working for us or for the respondent. Had we not questioned her with what she was telling us to do the entire way and argued she was incorrect in her "interpretations" of the stipulation that was already in place, we would have gotten back only a fraction of what was owed to us from the respondent. Not to mention this attorney was giving helpful advice to the other side more than she ever did for us. Absolutely disgusted with her loyalty to her own client and her loyalty to everyone else but us. I would never recommend this attorney.

I have worked with Sarah on several projects and I have found her to be very organized and thorough. She takes her work seriously and is always upbeat and positive. I know she will bring that same work ethic in working with her clients.

Sarah Schaffer is the best. So too, are her staff. I had the opportunity to review my situation in 2017 by phone. No pressure to hire them. They were genuinely interested in me, my circumstances, and helping me understand what to expect. More a teaching moment for me and strategy session - not a sales session. I have returned to say "Thank You." Thank you for good legal counsel. Thank you for asking me to ask myself "is this what I want?" It wasn't. I never hired Sarah, but my marriage is back on course and a "divorce lawyer" was helpful for that rebirth. Bless you.

I have known Sarah Schaffer since 2011. She is the consummate professional who stands out among her peers. I know this because I am a non-attorney professional who works with attorneys. Over 1,100 in total; close to 100 regulars during a given year on a weekly basis. Sarah Schaffer is, ONE of only two attorneys, who comes to mind immediately as a bullet-proof, never have to carefully consider: "Should I recommend her?"

I wholeheartedly recommend her. Period. Hands down. No hesitancy. If she'll take your case, you're in amazing hands. How can I be so sure? So many reasons... I'll highlight just a few.

Sarah never sits still: professionally. Most of my lawyer friends pass the bar and stop. Not Sarah. She pressed ahead with the CA Bar of Legal Specialization and is now a "Certified Family Law Specialist." Hint. There aren't many lawyer who go the distance and accomplish that feat. Too much work and too many years to accomplish. After graduating from the University and then graduating Law school, Sarah passed the bar and became an attorney. My experience suggests that for most lawyers I have known, that long and expensive university, law school, and pass the bar process adds up to "I'm done!" Not Sarah. Sarah returned to the University, as a working lawyer with all that demanded of her, to earn her masters in taxation (an LLM). That's crazy amazing! She could respectfully call herself a "tax attorney". Tax attorneys make the "big bucks". In fact, I asked her if she was going to practice tax law. Her reply? "No..." She became an expert in taxation for the sole benefit of her family law practice and to benefit her divorcing clients. Dedication. I stand by my recommendation.

Since I am not Sarah's client (and don't really want to be - fingers crossed), I can't speak to her tax skills first hand, but I can extrapolate. Everything Sarah does, she does well. Painstaking micromanaging sentences and paragraphs, punctuation, grammar and words on paper to the nth degree. She strives for excellence in everything in her control and oversight. I know this --first hand-- from my work with her over 5 years. She's the Energizer Bunny Lady Lawyer.

I have a dear friend and skiing buddy of 30-years - a tax law attorney who practices in Newport Beach. His simple annual tax advice has saved me and my family tens of thousands of dollars each year that would otherwise be drained off by the State and the IRS had I not taken his advice each year. Not asking for his advice would have been insanely foolish. I am continually dumbfounded by watching some family and friends who refuse to seek out tax advice and sometimes lose HUGE sums that need not have been sacrificed. For example, $300,000 in one recent beach city property sale. Very sad.

Can you imagine how much of a difference Sarah would make in structuring a divorce agreement and also having a hand in the property division for a divorcing couple with a complex marital estate? I know Sarah. I'd bet a Hershey Bar that her mad skills and input in such a case, would end up benefiting her client and her client's' spouse in both the short term and for decades to come. I can clearly imagine, from my own real-life experiences, the significant cash and ongoing tax savings a wealthy divorcing couple would save should they have a business, a home, a vacation home, and a handful of investment properties with Sarah on the case.

Sarah's knowledge of tax law and tax opportunities combined with her years of hammering out property division settlements is a win-win for her client and ---I'll speculate-- for her client's soon to be ex-spouse as well. Sarah Schaffer is my number ONE trusted referral for anyone who ever asks me for a competent divorce or custody lawyer.

P.S. 81 of my 2,100 high school classmates went to Vietnam. It was the first year of the Lottery/draft. My lottery number was 300 of 365. I dodged a bullet, but I also never had the honor to serve my country. "Oorah" USMC Colonel (select) Sarah T. Schaffer !
