I have followed this guy to 5 separate law firm's for 2 auto accident cases that have been going on for five years now. Not only does he obviously not get along with other lawyers to where he needs to constantly move firms, but he also failed to file suit on my motorcycle accident case that resulted in injury caused by a safety recall that has since passed the statute of limitations. I'm now stuck with tens of thousands of dollars in hospital/ medical bills and can't even get him to return my call for over a year! Did I also mention that he had me organize my own case files because he fired his paralegal that had mine and other client's paperwork all mixed in with my cases? Do yourself a huge favor and do not hire him!

Representation by Zelman costs a considerable amount more than comparable attorneys. I hired Zelman for a VOP under a flat fee agreement and he made several promises to address a conflict with the prosecutor, which he failed to honor. My VOP involved a deficient toxicology result. Zelman did not contact the toxicology company, did not review procedural requirements, and based the theory of defense on his own personal hypothetical beliefs in regards to assumed deficiencies. Zelman sought additional funds to hire a toxicologist and cancelled all court dates until he received the demanded amount. I terminated his employment and represented myself, at which time probation was reinstated. Had Zelman bothered to review procedural requirements, he would have certainly learned that the toxicology findings were inadmissible. Later contact with the toxicology company resulted in a statement that they wouldn’t have even tested the specimen had they been informed as to the manner in which it was collected. (In a store purchased Dixie drinking cup). The testing toxicology company also offered expert testimony under contract for $100, yet Zelman demanded an additional $1500. The probation officer testified that no chain of custody could be established and that it was collected in violation of multiple substantial collection procedures set forth by FDOC. Zelman failed to arrive at several appointments and he would not communicate via phone while incarcerated. All communication was by correspondence with his assistant. This issue will be pursued further and the foregoing statement is my opinion and a reflection as to the service I received by Joshua Zelman. This statement is also made in the jurisdiction of Brevard County, FL. (Zelman threatens legal action if you leave a negative review which is why I believe he has no reviews at all.)
