She was VERY passionate in her presentation to the judge in regards to the safety and this child's best interest of care. Ms. Bernard went above and beyond in her research to obtain UNDENIABLE evidence that was presented to the judge, which proved beyond any doubt that the father WAS best suited for custody. The horrible review below is my ex who lost the battle to Michele. She was proven to be a habitual liar and was even called out on the stand by the judge himself. The judge ruled in my favor with HARD evidence, not speculation or lies.

My experience:

At the very beginning of this process almost 2 years ago, I did not believe that I had a chance to get custody of my daughter. She was with her substance abusing, emotionally unhealthy mother yet I felt that there was nothing that I could do due to the fact that I was the father and that I did not have the thousands of dollars up front that these attorneys were asking for.
I lost hope.

My mother stumbled upon Michele's phone # by chance, told her my story and pleaded for help. Michele, did not reach out to me or blow my phone up as a "lead". Instead, she told my mother to give me her phone # and to give her a call when I am ready... she wanted to be sure that this is what I really wanted before we even talked about money.

I gave her a call and she invited me to talk 1 on 1 at her office. I told her my story and we probably talked for the better part of an hour. Right from the start I could tell that there was something different with her and I left that office retaining her for the lowest fee of the huge list of attorneys I spoke with.

I was impressed with her approach to the trial. We had LOADS of dirt on my ex yet she expressed to me that embarrassing her is not the point of this. She tried multiple times to reach an agreement out of trial to avoid the mess to come. At one point my ex wanted to settle. Michele actually let my ex tell her everything she wanted in the agreement so that there would be no disputes and it would be fully agreed upon by both sides.

She really does care and I she was literally a blessing from god. It is apparent that money is not her priority, if so then I owe her thousands more for the services and support she provided.

She successfully attained my rights to my daughter and was able to get me majority time sharing as well.

I recommend Michele to anybody, rich or poor, that wishes to see a different approach to family law. She is a rock-star and I will be forever grateful.

Gave her over $2000. 6 months went by and she did nothing she sent me a pic a paper we were working on to get custody it was like she was going to defend the mother and not me I think she only would do something up to a certain price and her own race she does not know what she’s doing I advise you not to hire her there are other lawyers out there with more knowledge and experience than this little girl.

I hired michele for a family court case. She went above and beyond! After fighting for my son to be in good hands for 2 years I figured I needed some help. Michelle Bernard has been a God send, if I could give more than five stars, I would. Her knowledge, kindness and advise had been nothing short of amazing. Michelle seriously is the most unprofessional lawyer that I have ever met! She showed up late to the only hearing I hired her for due to her going to the wrong courthouse! How do you do that as a lawyer! She wasn’t even prepared for my case and she took too much money out of my bank account! After the first hearing we had to show back up to court and she told me that I didn’t have to go, which I had to tell her that the judge said I had to show up too. She is so ditsy for a lawyer. I am still waiting to talk to her about the last court date. I have called and left several messages but I guess my case is over and she took more than what was agreed to monetary wise, so she doesn’t feel obligated to contact me at all. She is always to busy!

TLDR: she seriously messed up my case due to her own errors. Passed me to an attorney after 1-2 weeks that never had or read my file. Had to hire new attorney to fix the mess Holistic Legal made.

I hired Michele in March due to numerous documented instances of contempt from the custodial parent. Her reviews were excellent and her great sales skills sold me immediately. My bank denied her 1st payment so I had to physically come in and hand her money and told her to continue with the contracted agreement with the bank information provided, as I spoke with my bank and authorized Holistic Legal (her firm) to take payments. Never again was a withdraw requested from Michele to my bank so I had to physically go in to pay when I had time to drive 30 miles on I4. Aside from the financial mess, after she received my first payment that week, she passed my case along to a different attorney, Mark McMillan. The contempt motions were filed months after I requested, the counterpetition was "lost" and had to be redone, albeit grossly different from my original proposed plan. My submitted evidence for contempt, 34 instances, had to be submitted a total of 4 times because my new attorney kept losing them and/or Michele never passed them along, the list goes on and on. I reveived several emails from my new attorney, Mark, requesting documents and asking questions that were mind-boggling, I found out over the phone that my case was mistaken with another case! For two months! This is why nothing was being done. Now, I have an unrelated charge that is being dismissed and has nothing to do with my daughter, she literally scolded me and told me to "own up to my actions" on a case I am not guilty of. How's that for representation? She will complain that the case was mishandled over delayed payments, but I was expected to hand over my paychecks to someone who seriously jeopardized my case. It took two months for them to realize their own mistakes and admit to them and that is exactly how long I did not pay them. I had to find another attorney, put down the 3500 fee to avoid this silly circus, and he has glowing reviews as well. However, he works for himself and there is no chance of my case being passed down. Michele has too many cases to handle. If you hire her, you may be surprised to find yourself with a different attorney 2 weeks in. It's in the contract. She can and will do it.
