Poor excuse for an Attorney - unethical and unreliable - won’t return phone calls or respond to emails - his assistant at best is substandard as well - I would recommend they go out of business - bad news

I would definitely recommend Eddie! He is truly the best. He was always there to answer any questions I had and always responded very quickly. He definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to family law! If you are in need of a family law attorney look no further because Eddie is the best. He will do anything in his power to make sure you get what you! I would give him 10 stars if I could!!!

With an elevated standard of excellence that is not typically seen in most law firms in the region, I would have to say that if you can afford his fees, which are LESS than ANY in the surrounding counties, (I know after having called more than half a dozen before I found AAA Family Law,) and even if you cannot afford private counsel, FIND A WAY, as we aren't talking about getting points knocked of your DL, or trying to get a fine expunged. If the life & happiness of your family depends on the case and its outcome, you need to have top-of-the-line representation. For me, a negative outcome of my case would have left an indelible, irreversible consequence on my baby, which the other attorneys were leaning towards, but God deemed me worthy to come across this modern-day Prince, full of compassion, who is accomplished, patient, ACCESSIBLE, who will aggressively fight for you, is worth a million bucks, as there isn't a price that could be placed on the head of my family.

Mr. Mejia is very knowledgeable in the area of family law and handled my case great. He communicated with me in a timely manner and answered all my questions. He is very reasonable and fair. I definitely recommend him for any of your family law needs.

Mr. Mejas did a great job. He handled my paternity/child support case. When my ex didn't do what he was suppose to do he made sure to file something to get it done. He is priced reasonable compared to others. Very happy with my outcome.

This is the second time I have hired Mr. Mejia. Initially, when I divorced my ex-husband I had a different attorney. She did not do her job well at all. She charged me for every little thing and $20k later my divorce was finalized but the child support was handled poorly. This is when I hired Mr. Mejia. His price never changed. He did not nickle and dime me for every little thing. He communicated with me and kept me abreast of what was going on. My child support was finally addressed 7 months later. I have learned from my previous attorney that the courthouse does not move cases along as quickly as one may like. Unfortunately, this is how it goes. Also, I was fully aware of Mr. Mejia's previous disciplinary action. After working with him initially I honestly feel that he has learned from his past and he is a different person. This is why I have chosen to work with Mr. Mejia for the second time. If you want an attorney who will charge you one flat honest fee (no surprise charges), communicate with you, and fight for your best interest I would recommend hiring Mr. Mejia.

07/26/19 Ed is amazing. I recently hired him to take my ex-husband to court in order to get my ex to pay child support. Ed was able to get things straightened out without having to go to court. He then reimbursed me half of the money I payed him to take care of the situation. This speaks of Ed's integrity. I wouldn't have been able to get my ex to pay child support if it wasn't for Ed. The overall process took about 5 months. I was getting flustered. However, I have come to learn that issues in the court house unfortunately take a long time to address. Thank you Ed. I will continue to utilize your services in the future if I find I need to take my ex to court again .

I have to be honest, when it comes to work quality Ed had delivered 100%.
In the year of 2018, I had faced a legal battle where custody had turned around. After a conversation with my partner, we decided to find a lawyer whose initial an upfront cost was more clear, compared to others. Also, we had found that the web site that Ed uses was straightforward for my needs. After sending a paperwork related to the case, Ed was very detailed in the course of action. Helped with my DCF case involving my son. My son was taken by the state and Mr. Mejias got him back for me! Highly recommended if you’re involved in a dependency case with the state. He listened to my needs, listen to my son’s needs, and represented us very well to the state. Very pleased with his work. Reviews saying otherwise, I feel... are just internet trolls. Seriously don’t waste your money. He is very unorganized, doesn’t have a proper office , showed up to my mediation unprepared, wrinkled suit and wanted me to just agree to everything! DO NOT WASTE your time .

Istead of a lawyer Mr. Mejias would be named himself Mr. Lier. I went to AAAFamily Law and met Mr. Mejias about two years ago, I paid the full amount he asked me for. I never received a call from him or his secretary, even when he said to me that I could call at any time. I tried to contact him after 6 months and one of his crew told me to give it a little more time. Six months later, that was a year already I tried to contact him, by phone, by email, by person with no success, he was too busy. Year an half same thing, I never received an answer of my case, I don't even have a number case with him because probably He saw my face, I'm a single mother of one child, hard worker and I still have to improve my English, so.. He saw me as someone easy to steal from. After two years I will probably go to the authorities to report him as a bad practitioner of the law.

Mr. Mejias was amazing in the court room and outstanding with keeping in contact with me. He answered all of my questions and helped me stay calm and at ease. He really made me feel like he was invested in my case and wasnt just another number on a docket. I HIGHLY recommend him if you want a courteous, well spoken, and successful attorney!

Ed Mejias is by far the worst attorney I have ever worked with or even heard of! First, he has been disciplined by the bar for missing court dates and important deadlines. In my case particularly, Mr. Mejias assured me that he had handled many cases in lake county. He GOT LOST in the courthouse on our mediation day. He had no idea where mediations were held or even where the restrooms were. He had clearly never been in the Lake County courthouse.
Do not be fooled by the initial kindness shown by both Mr. Mejias and his paralegal. I was told prior to hiring this attorney that I could call the office any day and any questions I had would always be answered. This changed immediately following the agreement of representation. They no longer answered the phone. They did not return emails or phone calls. I had to remind them multiple times of deadlines for my case and when to file documents.
The mediator for my case would not allow me to sign the proposed agreement because it was not a fair agreement. Mr. Mejias agreed in mediation that I should not sign, but the following day told me that I had to either sign the unfair agreement or give him $2,000 to continue the case. This is when I asked Mr. Mejias to remove himself from my case. There was NO WAY I would pay him to continue working on a case that I was doing most of the work for.
My current situation with this firm is also not pleasant. Mr. Mejias has not been removed from my case and I am unable to represent myself or obtain proper representation from a competent attorney until he is. I have called his office multiple times. I have sent many emails. AAA law firm is a joke. Do not hire them unless you do not care about the outcome of your case. Mr. Mejias should be disciplined by the bar AGAIN and I will do what it takes to make that happen.
Learn from my mistake- stay far away from AAA Family Law!!!!

Mr. Meijas has been nothing but professional since the day we hired him. He has represented my boyfriend in a custody battle and I am beyond impressed with him, as an attorney and human being. He has been very personable and extremely impressive in the court room. He has spent countless hours and travel time on our case. I hired mr Mejia to help me change my name and even tho it has taken longer than I would have liked he has maintained my confidence in helping me to get this taken care of. So overall I am satisfied.

We have a custody battle going on and 2 weeks ago now we turned in ALL the papers he needed and we've called to get updates and no one answers the phone then it rings once and goes to voice mail. It's very unprofessional. We've gone to the office and no one was in the office. Is this how you run your business?.......add on as we finally got through, kinda. Someone answered the phone didn't say hello or anything, set the phone down and we could hear mr. Lawyer on the phone. Then I guess he hung up and was mad saying "damn it, hold the f***ing calls there to much going on here" and we've been on hold 30 mins now and we were supposed to have him call us.....but as we've found out THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN. save yourself the money with this one. Get someone else.

They take your money and don't return calls and when you go in the office to see if they are still in business they act like they to busy to talk to you.
Two months ago I went in around 11:00 am they knew I was there they left out the back door and went to lunch and the poor receptionist had to tell me.

Mr. Mejias is a GREAT attorney! He builds a relationship with his clients and is genuinely concerned about every case he takes. His knowledge of Florida's Family Law is astonishing, and he will give you 150%. Best advise, be patient and allow him to do his job, Mejias is very methodical in every decision he makes and motion he files. He truely is a top tier attorney and I will hire him again immediately if I am ever in need of his services.

Ed Mejias is a fraud. Make sure you check his status with the Florida bar. I never signed a retainer agreement with him, he completed no work for me. He took my card info to "have on file" then he charged it. When I contacted him asking for my money back or to provide a copy of a retainer saying I agreed to it he responded by charging my card again for the same amount and of course never sent a copy of the retainer because IT DOESN'T EXIST! He completely lied and stole from me. Don't let this happen to you.

I'm very thankful for Mr. Mejias service and guidance. He helped me out during a very challenging time when my other attorney closed her practice and moved away in the middle of my case. I've always found him to be very responsive and knowledgeable. He also continues to provide counsel along the way when questions arise. Thank you Eddie!

Ed Mejas was reasonably priced and I had a lot against me I mean a lot. He legally argued his way to victory and I got to see my son for the first time in a year. He is a great lawyer and a great guy! Would recommend him to anyone! God Bless this man has helped my family soooo much!

Extremely Disappointed!!! Do your research on this Attorney before you hire him. Ed Mejias is currently on a 10 year probation with the Florida Bar. Mr. Mejias has very poor response time to court orders, and informing/responding to clients emails and calls. Clients are kept in the dark about their case and ultimately leads to contempt charges filed against them by opposing counsel. This attorney was paid in full and then withdrew as counsel during the middle of the case. I am still trying to repair the damage caused by his negligence. I would post negative stars if it were an option.
