I went to his office for help but when no longer needed his services I got screwed. He withheld my money with hidden charges. $1800 for a two minute phone call.
His attitude was very bad and he is rude. Don't waste your time or money.

Travis helped me update and correct a QDRO that was incorrect and update the decree that my initial lawyer failed to do correctly. All was refiled with the courts in a timely manner so that I could get the finances that were due to me. He communicated with me often and was available to talk when I needed to ask him something.

I started using Travis in June 2016, for a custody / child support case for my daughter. This case took sometime because for starters the father resided in another state. (Those are always way more trickier) It also had some set backs, due to the father not responding, and additional request that was ordered, just to be certain we made every attempt to get him to become a part of the case. Not to mention having to make every possible way and attempt to have a man in another state served when they were always rejected. Travis was determined to get this case finished and through the hard times of it, stayed by my side determined to see it fully through. He told me one day, I will get this finished, I am not walking away from it, no matter how long it takes, we will get it done. In May 2017, eleven months later, I was awarded soul custody of my daughter. Even though at times, I felt like giving up with the bad news, of her father not responding or caring to corporate, to prolong it all, it was worth the entire process to see this day finally come and the order granted on a default. It was one of the best days of tears and joy, a mother could ever feel. Everyone's situation is different and I at one point felt helpless UNTIL I hired Travis!

Divorce has been difficult for me, as it is for most people. That being said without Travis, my experience would have been much worse. It pains me to see the negative reviews so allow me to balance the ledger a bit with a few important points:
1. Travis is an excellent partner. If you want someone that gets down in the mud and fights with you, he is your man. This brings me to my next point nicely.
2. Travis will not hold your hand through the process. Be realistic about the cost here. The reason he is able to charge you less is because he cuts costs wherever he needs to and genuinely passes those savings on to his clients. He doesn't have a gigantic office and 5 paralegals - therefore you don't pay for it. If you want to be totally hands-off in this process, save everyone the headache and get ready to spend 4x as much.
3. Be responsible for your case. I would wager my Ex spent 4 times more than I did in the divorce... and I am a small business owner. She was thinking slam dunk. But not with Travis. Having said that, read your paperwork and understand things you are signing. This advice carries over into every aspect of life.
4. Continued help. Because of the relationship we have built, he is now retained on two other cases for my loved-ones. I call that trust.
5. Christmas. I must add that when my Ex when crazy and destroyed my PRS guitar on Christmas, he was responsive. AND HE DIDN'T EVEN BILL ME.
6. He is great in a head to head fight like mediation. If you work with him towards your case, you can guarantee the best possible results. He will not act unethically or illegally but stay within the strategic confines of the law. Much respect for that.

DO NOT USE THIS CROOK. He did not appear on my behalf for the initial court appearance which seems to be your normal way of doing business after reading his reviews on yelp. He appeared at the mediation and told me I should be happy with just having custody. When I contacted him to find out the next steps for my case he would tell me he is waiting for discovery to which we never discussed him doing a discovery for my custody case.

He didn’t provide me with a billing statement until I requested one. It took him almost 10 days to email the statement to me. On the statement, he charged me $750 for discovery that we never discussed. Again he didn't provide any documentation, communication, or any information regarding discovery.

On the statement, he charged me for the mediation plus $300 for travel to the mediation that was at the Richmond Court House. His office is in Houston. I can travel to New York for that amount. This travel charge was never discussed or approved by me. See attached billing statement for proof.

In such a stressful and traumatic time, such as divorce...I was completely at ease and trusted Travis Eaton from our first conversation. I knew I had called the right person and he would do whatever was needed for me and my children. He gave me honest, valuable advice and I was never left guessing next steps in this foreign process. He acted quick and I knew he was always in my corner, looking out for my best interest. I would absolutely recommend him and use him again! He made me feel at ease and got me the end result I desired as quick as possible. Thank you again!
