I was getting constant messages from the attorney from my homeowners association who would not return any of my responses other than increasing my fees. I paid this lawyer a $2500 retainer fee on a Friday, but took the retention agreement home to read over without signing yet. On Monday, I decided not to go through with the case but he had supposedly worked on the case over the weekend, so my $2500 shrunk down to a $700 refund... when we spoke over the phone, he said I was pulling the "I did not sign an agreement" card on him... the rude tone over the phone was the cherry on top... awful experience.
