I am a disabled adult with a genetic condition that makes me muscularity weak and I need my service dog Merlin for structural support. I spoke with this firm today and they do not understand these (simple) laws and refused to even look into them. I came to them regarding discrimination against disabled adult with a service animal and they seem to believe a person with a disability must pay money to have a card that any person not on disability can buy online. Florida statute specifies that dogs are now legally referred to as “service animal” to purposefully avoid any reference to any pet clauses whatsoever. It even says the “two questions establishments and businesses may ask on the ADA website. We cannot find ONE reference to any type os “registration” or medical letter/referral.

In fact, I had to do those things at first until it was pointed out by other lawyers she sought for help back then, that the documents were completely unnessisary for there’s no reference to any such requirement in the statute itself.
