If you are going thru a divorce and looking for representation…You need to stop searching and retain Laurie Young and her team. They will go well above and beyond your expectations and work tirelessly to obtain what you are going after. The entire team is extremely responsive – If I had a question or concern I could always count on an answer or reply within an hour. The team is also very versed with all the ins and outs of a divorce, and I always felt they understood and appreciated how hard this situation is personally on a client. I never felt like a number or a customer, and could always sense true sincerity coming from their end. Laurie and team could always be counted on, to do their homework prior to any meeting and would always have superb and crushing retort to any resistance encountered.

But where Laurie shined was within court and negotiating with the opposing lawyer. She is no nonsense and aggressive when she needs to be. I was lucky enough to view and hear one of her conversations with my wife’s lawyer, and I could see and feel the respect she commanded. It was very obvious he did not want to go against Laurie and basically laid down immediately, and convinced my wife to agree to a pretty meager settlement considering the situation. Laurie and team drove this process extremely quickly – Divorce paperwork was filed in mid to late September and we had an agreement in the first week of December.

Hope to never have to use Laurie again in this capacity, but if ever necessary, there is no doubt I would want her fighting for me, and would retain again without question. Very displease with my experience with the receptionist. So I can only imagine the service I would receive from the firm. I called to inquire about the office doing a portion of a divorce because when I had self filed we apparently did not do the form correctly. That being said, when I called and explained the situation and asked for pricing, the receptionist was not all that interested in what I had to say. She informed me of the price and was short and curt. I not sure what is happening in the world, but I am shocked that a service based office would not want to provide kind and friendly service.

Background - I have hired Mrs. Young to defend my parental rights in two separate civil matters, in 2015 an in 2018, and to receive consultation on smaller matters that did not require legal action. Both outcomes were positive and all advice received was concise and sound.

Services/Cost - Mrs. Young will only focus her effort and time on the important details and factors of your case. You can rest assured that your payment is being used 100% toward advancing your position in your case. There were no instances where I questioned if the effort or resources were being allocated appropriately. I bring up this point, because divorce is incredibly expensive. You don't want an attorney that is focusing on petty/minor details that will not really have any bearing on the judgement of your case.

Services/Mediation-Prep - Mrs. Young is very skilled at negotiations during mediation. Before going to trial our prep was very, and I want to emphasize VERY, thorough. I would have lists of questions and concerns that I would think of while awaiting the trial date. Each question, concern, hypothetical, was both logically and concisely addressed and discussed.

Mrs. Young is skilled at determining your strengths and weaknesses prior to trial. The advice given to me was spot on and strengthened the quality of my testimony. Mrs. Young also possesses the uncanny ability of predicting the actions of the opposing counsel. This was immensely helpful during trial, when certain arguments were being brought forward and I knew exactly how to appropriately respond.

Services/Trial - Mrs. Young is an extremely skilled attorney in trial. Any misstep, leading question, attempt to submit evidence, or other forms of skullduggery that the opposing counsel may or may not engage in will be identified and refuted. Nothing will get by.

Staff - The staff was supportive and went above and beyond. Some people adopt the practice of "leaving work, at work". I do not believe this to be the case with this team. I paid for and scheduled a phone consultation with Ms. Young. Twenty minutes after our scheduled appointment time I called and requested a refund of the money they had already withdraw from my bank. The last thing I need is a family law attorney who can't keep a scheduled appointment and isn't courteous enough to have someone in her office call and let me know she is going to be late. That's a HUGE red flag.

Whichever associate that called me back was the most disrespectful ,uncouth and just the rudest lady i have ever spoken with. Talk to her paralegal more than I ever talked to her. Everything in my decree had typos and didnt include anything I had spoken to her paralegal about. Apparently she blamed this fact on her PDA wasn't working. Everything was decided on the scheduling conflicts of the judge and attorneys, not decided on was was best for my kids. I learned the hard way legal system has nothing to do with right or wrong but who has the biggest retainer fee. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Very CASH DRIVEN. You got money you get part of her attention. Told me my order of protection didn't matter in the divorce hearing. I paid the price dearly for that. Attorneys need to make money too. But she didn't even try to earn it. Judge Rogers complained of the poor work done on my case.
