I was removed from my home and children by the police for a lie about me molesting my daughter at a dance competition. With out one bit of information other than the accusation ( by my ex’s friend and later house mate) the GAL ordered the police to remove me from my home
Melissa doggedly gathered facts and information to prove my complete innocence. The separation from my children, Dealing with GAL and Family Services is infuriating and emotionally draining beyond description Melissa went out of her way to call and assure me in my depths of complete despair that things would work out.
On the legal side of this travesty Melissa made sure I at least was able to see my kids for a few hours every week
It was more important for the kids to see me as they were the true victims. Melissa helped all of us

I had a friend recommend her office to me. I was scheduled for a phone consultation. Which was ok. I asked the assistant if they needed me to send my papers over for review before my phone call. She said no I have everything we need.
I had the phone consultation, Melissa only had the petition to review and no other papers.
I was very upset at this point. I feel as though I was not taken seriously and did not have her full attention during our call. I also am concerned she suggested she is friends with the other attorney and would not fight for my rights.
I also felt like she thought I was uneducated and she felt the need to talk down to me.
Needless to say I am going with another office.

Melissa is a great lawyer. Very kind and friendly to her clients, but straight to the point and a "don't mess with me attitude" in the court room. As much as I would love to recommend Melissa as a family law attorney, I actually highly do NOT recommend wasting your money. Her paralegal Lisa is TERRIBLE at her job. I wasted hundreds of dollars on back and forth emails and half answered questions. If she would get better office staff, my review would dramatically change. Don't waste your time or your money with this law office!!!!
