They wont help me because im mot being abused.

Some lady with an Hispanic accent was extremely rude and didn’t even let me explain my case. I was referred by the Attorney general to them in reference to a tenant/landlord issue for legal advice. She stated “well if you moved out yesterday i don’t see whats the problem”, and i attempted to explain to her but she yet cut me off again. I am sure she is just a customer service rep, and if they have protocol if it isn’t “an emergency” to move on but her CS skills were horrid, and she doesn’t sound to enthusiastic about working there, all I needed to know was it something worth my while for court or not. Mind you it was 9:06 when I called, and they aren’t too busy yet. I recommend just getting searching hard for a free consultation with other attorneys unless you want to deal with inconsiderate people.

I called today to get divorce started cause of mental, emotional, verbal n some physical abuse n neglect n threats made toward me. The lawyer I spoke to said I was talking to her lije she is a piece of trash n that she is a lawyer n not no trash. I was floored cause I didnt say Nothing mean I was answering her questions n for her to speak to me like Im trash was totally uncalled for. I asked her nicely cpl times what did I say that was mean n she cldnt say nothing but the trash thing. I started crying n told her Im sorry that Ive got lung disease sarcoidosis fully active n cldnt help from wheezing, coughn n gasping for air so I hung up the phone on her. I dont have to b talked down on by nobody not even a probono lawyer. Ive used them twice before for divorce. Ive never ever been treated that bad by any lawyer whatsoever. If I cant turn to them for help on divorce then who r we to turn to huh. Theres a reason I called them its called low income, disabled n single mother that pays mortgage n all bills. I will not take no more abuse or threats by my lil girl daddy. If anything happens to me or my lil girl this place is responsible for not helping me n assuming I was rude when I never said nothing mean or no mean voice tone either. 2003 n 2004 the lawyers that did my divorce these two times were so very kind, caring, understanding, heart of gold. Now the lawyer I spoke to today has a heart of stone. The receptionist isnt no better either she needs to b fired. She is non professional in a lawyers office for sure. Someone needs to get these ppl in check and fast this isnt goid for bussiness fir real its not. Thank u.

Attorney I spoke with was rude and very assumptive. She did not seem to want to help but rather tell me about my finances and what I can and cannot afford. I will not recommend this service to anyone that truly needs help as they are degrading just because you fit their criteria of indigent. The intake lady was not very friendly and the whole time i was on the phone with them they were very stoic and unwelcoming. I don't want help from people who obviously don't want to help people.

Called last week to place and application for financial assistance for a bankruptcy attorney. Their automated service says you can place an application online.
Placed application online. Called today and was told no application was received, but since the phone was answered at 4 minutes til 11 I had to "call back at 1 since we don't accept applications at this time". Okay.

Called back at 1. Spoke to a "Mrs. Wilder" I believe. Same woman I talked to before 11.
She asked me about my household size and income. I receive WIC and will be receiving food stamps and that is all my daughter and I need to get by. We live with my aunt, but she does not charge us rent and I have no bills to pay and ZERO income. My aunt does not foot ANY of my bills, yet she is still considered part of my household? Right. So they need my aunt's income even though she doesn't cover any of my expenses?
She wouldn't even let me explain that my aunt's income has NO BEARING on my financial situation, so even though I have no money and no one to help me pay for an attorney they won't speak to me about assistance.
Yeah. Thanks a lot. I WILL be calling the governor's office and any other legal organization I can to see that THIS "organization" is handled. I don't need your little generic automated "apology".

I urge anyone seeking this assistance to just avoid it all together. It seems their staff are rude and incompetent and the qualifications are set up to only help those who have income. If you don't have any income, expect no help.

Got the help I needed.. Lynn Pence did an amazing job getting everything filed, my now ex husband found so he could be served and the judge signature and divorce final all within 3 months.. She kept in touch with me through the whole process.. Couldnt have asked for better lawyer to get my divorce done and awarded everything i asked for..

Online refused to help daughter with no income, because her ex contacted them. Really

I applied for legal aid to help remove 5 children who have no home, clothes, shoes, bed, or food to speak of. I'd snatch them from there mother now if I knew where she had the kids at this moment, anyways I called the hotline and was told this was not a priority that CPS should get involved, we have tried that route and CPS has done nothing. Then I called the hotline manager after the way I was spoken to and that was a complete waste of my time. Two of the kids are currently injured and when I explained (partially as no one would let me finish speaking before cutting me off) these issues and concerns I was informed the only way they would help me is if the kids were abused physically or sexually by the other parent or if I had them in my house for 90 days. This place in an absolute joke. When children aren't a priority in a situation such as this and drug dealers are there is an issue with our system.

Don't get Dustin Duke. Get someone new and fresh that actually want to help people and like black people. Mrs. Smith is about the best one in there and actually wants to help people. It's sad they made Dustin duke a manager and his boss Mrs. Carter sucks if you request a different lawyer she's know help

After sharing my opinion and experience dealing with one of the probono attorneys they got for my collection case,They punished me by cancelling my services. The staff is very cold and cruel dealing with clients.
