UPDATE::: We can now add lair to the list of complaints, this case is NOT resolved. It's 5 days short of the one year mark and still he does not have his licence because these people did not send in the judgement to the state as required.... please,,, no matter how simple you think it will be or what you have done you deserve better then this nightmare, disgustingly incompetent company.... take your money elsewhere, anywhere but here

I just met with Scott Taylor of the Piatcheck law firm and was very impressed. He was courteous, professional , and very instructive and I came away very aware of my situation and what my optiions were and in just a few minutes. I spent 2 months in Brad Bradshaws office and came away with nothing but a brush office from and office receptionist.

Our experience initially was good, but as the process moved forward, our faith in this firm deteriorated. Less and less honest communication, and by the end, court day, we found out that meetings with the judge had been missed, the discovery paperwork requested by the opposing attorney had been supplied by us but not given to the opposing counsel until the day of court, therefore not allowed. There were also very pertinent areas of the case that were not discussed, even at the judge's request. We feft very helpless and totally cheated, and of course lost every aspect of our case. Worse legal experience ever!!!

Very professional group of people. Nick and Nichols were very patient with me during my case. They were great to deal with. I hope I never need an attorney again, but if I do, Nick is going to be my first call.

I had another question the next day, he returned my call in the evening from his personal phone. This really showed how hard working and caring for everyones situation he is.

I called around and this law firm really helped ease my mind with how they treated me and in the understanding they had for my situation. Let me start off by saying I live in G.A and had to get a lawyer in Missouri. I didnt know what to do or where to start I was so scared. So I googled lawyers and found a few called a few. All of them was double the retainer bec I lived out of state so I honestly thought I was going to have to resent myself until I called Piatchek Law firm and then I knew right away they would be my lawyer. The most unorganized office and staff I've ever encountered. My cash payment applied short of what I had actually paid, thankfully I kept receipts. My case went through 3 paralegals which made it impossible to get anything signed or finalized. I ended up withdrawing my dissolution. Received an email two weeks ago and still have not received my filing fee refund nor my closing papers. Again, my emails and phone calls are not being returned.
Eventually received my filing fee refund with a letter addressing me and my wife (although I was divorcing my husband). This is the level of service I received.

Scott and Debbie were extremely helpful every step of the way, and helped me to be able to see my daughter more often. Would highly recommend them to anyone seeking legal help.

I originally wrote this review with 1 star, but I have added because I respect Joe Piatchek and I don't want my review to reflect badly on his firm. This was my experience with one lawyer/paralegal team in his firm, and is not meant to be a reflection on everyone at the facility. I've added notes throughout the review to explain. Joe contacted me personally and tried to resolve my issue, sadly we couldn't come to an agreement, but I feel it's only fair to add.

I have taken some time to collect my thoughts before leaving this review. I am not one to be vindictive or vengeful, but I feel like I owe it to other people in my position to tell my experience. I had to find a lawyer quickly and affordably, went to a few places, found the Piatchek Law Firm, talked to its paralegal Dominick, paid the retainer, and set up a payment plan. Dominick was very polite, but I don’t think he knew fully what was going throughout my case.

I only met my lawyer, Scott, once at my Case Management Hearing and had only a few minutes before the hearing to brief him on my case.  Later at my Temporary Custody Hearing, a gentleman met me in the lobby while I was looking for the court room. He informed me that he would be filling in for Scott that day. I was not prepared to brief a third person on everything to do with my case in the few minutes we had. I was not prepared for the things that happened at the Temporary Custody Hearing like my ex-husband’s lawyer reading statements I had said in therapy over a year before. I was completely embarrassed and disheartened by the experience. (I understand it was a complicated case, I have a history of mental illness and there is a history of substance abuse on both sides. The point is I was not prepared. Dominick was very upbeat, like I really had a final chance. No one warned me when they subpoenaed my health records that they would be reading therapy sessions from OVER a year before, how stressful it would be watching my ex lie to the judge, there was limited follow up. I understand now that the problem was probably the paralegal, but that doesn't change the outcome.)

I text Dominick on Feb 12th asking about a test result, and got no response. I called the office once to talk to Dominick and was told I would get a call back. I never did. Finally, I emailed Dominick on the Feb 21st pleading for an update because the test results had come back and my ex was trying to extort me with them. Dominick told me he had been experiencing health issues and had been out of the office. No one at Piatchek had told me. (I understand now that the test is not left up to my lawyer, it is up to the Judge)

I feel like the communication was awful. I was never prepared for anything. I didn’t know what to expect. The evidence I collected was not asked for or used apart from the police report that I filed. I asked for a specific test to be administered and was given a different one against my wishes. It was my breaking point. I felt I had no choice but to settle. I did not see it getting any better. (The communication was awful, it is my understanding that the paralegal was largely at fault for this. I understand it was my choice to settle, I was just explaining why I made the decision)

I have lost faith in the justice system due to my experience. I don’t know if the mismanagement of my representation was purposeful. I feel it stemmed mostly from poor communication. I understand that my payment plan wasn't that great, but I paid it, and I will continue to pay it even though I was disgusted with the services. I just wish I didnt feel like part of the reason things went the way they did was partially because of the amount I was able to pay a month. That might just be my own insecurity. (Definitely my own insecurity, i understand other clients have had great outcomes on a similar payment plan.)

I'm removing the section where I advise people to steer clear of the law firm completely. I can not speak with experience about other law teams within the firm. This was solely my experience with the team mentioned within the review.

The absolute worst attorney I have ever dealt with. They do not return phone calls or email you back so then you end up getting charged more for having to email back to get any information. I would recommend this law firm to no one. Do yourself and find an attorney who will actually fight for you.

They were both professional and prompt with getting back to me regarding any questions or concerns I had for my case. I was able to get everything finalized very quickly and it only took a longer time due to the respondent/my ex. The other staff members were also helpful. I would use them again for any legal services in the future and would recommend them to my friends/family.

Working with Nick at piatchek law firm was a great experience. I am 100% pleased with the results of my custody, and would refer then to anyone needing legal assistance.

I had an amazing experience for most of my divorce case. Scott and Eric kept me informed the whole way and gave me peace of mind. I do feel that I was overcharged for some of the services. However after trial in Jan 2017 after they changed paralegals I began to not get my calls returned, and when I would ask questions it became about the money I owed them and it was held over my head. The past few months have been very hard financially so I've kept them in the loop trying to get approved for loans and get family to help. I was a very happy customer in the beginning, now I can't even get a call back to explain why an amendment was done on my decree with out my permission and what was changed. I've now called 4 times, my mother has called, and they emailed me a copy of new decree but I see no differences. This post isn't against Scott Taylor (he was a fantastic attorney) as much as it is the new paralegal and office staff. I also don't think it's appropriate for the new paralegal to put down Eric every time I do get ahold of her when I mention how he did my case well and was always helpful. I would personally go back but would not want Heather to be my paralegal, I would request Nick Ibarra.

Sammi helped me this past summer obtain a title for a car I bought. She was very attentive and responsive througout the process and didn't mind answering my many questions along the way, as I was new to the declaratory judgement process. Scott Taylor represented my husband and me in a case from October 2016 to April 2017, when he withdrew. We retained him with a down payment and set up a payment plan, which seemed to be all fine with him and the account manager.

We are incredibly displeased with the services we received and feel wholly misrepresented in our case. In the beginning, Mr. Taylor was very fired up and we felt like he was best for our case, but within a month, our retainment fees were gone, from what we later discovered was mostly his paralegal sending e-mails, and his drive went down. The previous following months also showed most of our fees were accrued with the paralegal responding to e-mails with no actual work on Mr. Taylor's part.

Mr. Taylor made a lot of promises to us on our case, claiming he would file motions and had his paralegals draft them up. Nothing was ever filed but we were still charged the fees for his paralegal to write them up. Mr. Taylor never showed up in person for important meetings and would only participate by phone, where he would often make promises to file motions but never did. Mr. Taylor often missed court dates too and wouldn't send anyone to represent us in his absence.

Since we have had new legal representation, they have made more headway in three months versus Taylor's six months and they were far less expensive and didn't charge us an entire hour to read a two-minute e-mail.

I feel that we were poorly represented by Mr. Taylor and that if he would have been honest with us from the beginning that his work load was too much or that he didn't know how to handle our case, it would have saved us a lot of heartache and finances.

Knowing how sensitive I was to the nature of my case, I did a lot of research before choosing Scott G Taylor to represent me. I was extremely happy with the service I received. Heather Cribbs assisted Scott with my case and was a truly wonderful person to work with. Her sensitivity and professionalism created an atmosphere that alleviated my stress and allowed me to better focus on what was most important. They made everything easier then I would have imagined knowing that I was expecting the possibility of a complicated case. Heather was able to answer questions and concerns I had very efficiently and wouldn't hesitate if more research was involved to give the best and most correct answer. At no point was I ever misled as to potential results or expectations. They are very honest and I would highly recommend them.

Dwi lawyer is in bed with the prosecutor worst law firm in Springfield would have been been better with a public defender. Recommend another law firm or take your chances on your own.they don't want to help you they want to give you the worst and satisfy themselves cause they don't wanna help others.
