I've worked with Steve on several cases in family court. He is especially adept at reducing conflict in divorce and post-divorce phases, which I value highly. He's not a "gotcha" type of attorney. He guides clients toward healthier perspectives, particularly on custody issues, always with an eye toward best interests of the child. There is only one regret I have when it comes to Steve Henry and The Henry Law Firm. That is I waited too long to retain his services. I had a complicated case dealing with a past issue. The first lawyer I had was recommended by a good friend. He got me through the initial stages, but was very hard to get in touch with. The issue went away for a while, but when it resurfaced he had disappeared. So I went with another lawyer that I found on my own. I was with him through the case and decision, but during the process he refused to involve my wife who wanted to be kept in the loop at both of our requests. I wasn't necessarily happy with the result, but he said it was the best I could expect. Then some time had passed and an appeal was brought by the other party. My lawyer made it clear that he really didn't want to get involved, and I was terrified. My wife did the searching this time. Through AVVO, she found a review for Steve Henry. It was so good that we immediately made an appointment to see him. From very early in our consultation my wife and I both knew we found a person who would work with us and cared about us not just the money. He was extremely fair with his fees, but he was worth every penny. He came up with a game plan based on what my wife and I wanted to achieve in the process. He consistently let both my wife and I know what was going on and what he was thinking up to the court appearance. He was amazing in action. He wasn't too aggressive, but wasn't a push over. Every point that her lawyer got past my previous lawyer, Steve was on top of and nullified each one. He knew case law that even the judge wasn't aware of. When the judge would make a point that was incorrect, Steve would very politely correct him and present all information needed to prove his case. He frustrated the opposing lawyer to the point where they made a few mistakes that ultimately helped our case. We could not be happier with the result. It was more than we hoped for. Immediately the other party tried to fight the result, but once again Steve presented case law that helped the judge stop them in their tracks. My wife and I could not be happier with the decision to make that phone call to Steve Henry. He not only wanted to get the result we wanted, but cared about us as people. I had a family law issue I spoke with Steve about. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He understood my circumstances and explained my options. I highly recommend Steve.

Steve processes lots and lots of paperwork that runs up his fees. He was very ineffective in my divorce. I spent thousands of dollars and ended with an inequitable share of a 32 year marriage. He is more concerned with being friendly with the other side's lawyer than his own client. I do NOT recommend him. I would hate to see anyone go through what I did because of his weaknesses.

I used this office for a child support matter that involved laws from federal guidelines and two states on a proceeding that took six years to resolve. Steve was able to navigate through these laws and get to a result that benefited not only myself, but my daughter as well. Steve Henry is professional, pays attention to details and does a great job of anticipating the moves from opposing counsel and the judge. I was very impressed and happy to have used him as my counsel.
