I had a really bad experience with John in 2006. I applied for a green card through an employer. My case got denied and I asked him to appeal it for me. At first I thought he was good but then he started being very unprofessional and incompetent. He filed my appeal without proper documentation for my previous legal issues and my case was denied as one of my arrests did not show the deposition. Of course he was too shortsighted to catch that before submitting my paperwork.
But that’s not the end of it. Now this one will really piss you off. John showed total lack lack of respect and indifference towards me. He put on my application that I needed to get my green card because I was gay. And I am not even gay. I asked him to remove that clause and I it was too late because he already sent the paperwork. He literally insulted me and I was furious. I think that probably contributed to my case getting denied too. I found this review page because I am married now and I’m looking for a lawyer to apply again. I wouldn’t dare use him again. When I saw his name on the list of attorneys I cringed. I couldn’t even believe he is still in business after what he did to me. I do not recommend him. Stay away from him. He will insult you and deliberately get your case denied. I don’t even know why he would tell immigration I’m gay when I’m not right on my appeal paperwork. I should have sewed him for defamation. But of course noncitizes have no rights. He would probably get me deported as he always scared me about getting sent to El Paso in an orange jumpsuit whenever I met with him. He insulted and took my money. He never even apologized. He is very abusive. The bar association should revoke his license. He breaks the very law that he is an advocates for and he trampled on non citizens.

Mr. John Russo has done a great job with my immigration case. He has went above and beyond to ensure a favorable outcome. Mr. Russo's fees are also more affordable than larger corporate structures due to having a home office, from which he seems to work out of around the clock! Thanks Mr. Russo for your help, it is much appreciated.

John have been very helpful and knowledgeable when I had a consultation session. He provided very useful information, and didn't charge me extra after we went overtime during the session. He only charges $60 for the 1st consultation session.( as of 7/2018, may change later), this fee a lower than the other bigger immigration law firms. He works for himself. I think his fee would be lower than the bigger firms with less overhead.
HIRE HIM YOU WONT REGRET IT. I don't normally do reviews but felt I needed to give Mr Russo credit because its well deserved.I retained him for a family member in ICE's custody for removal proceedings .I gave him 5 stars for the following 5 reasons. 1.Very experienced, knowledgeable, thorough. 2.His price is very reasonable and he is very flexible with payment plans. He worked with me when I needed to reduce my monthly payments. 3.Cares about his client and takes deep interest in the case.He drove to Milan, NM to visit the client who was detained by ICE.The client got moved around to Mississippi and then to Louisiana.Mr Russo kept in close contact with the client while ICE bounced him around. He took off 4 days from his office to go to Louisiana and handle the client's case, and barely charged me anything outside his flight, hotel and car rental.I was pleasantly surprised. How many attorneys take off 4 days from their office to go handle one case in another part of the country without charging an arm and a leg? Talk about commitment to your client. 4.He was relentless as ICE kept refusing to grant his client parole, he filed 3 different applications to get the client released and worked the phones and emails to contact those who made decisions on releases. 5.Patience, John doesn't rush. You go to his office and you leave feeling you have been heard. Doesn't try to rush you out of the door and really takes time to listen to you which is something I greatly appreciated.
With all the above, needless to say he put together a superb packet for the relief my relative was seeking and made a great presentation infront of the immigration judge and the case was succesful. We are very greatful for his knowledge and dedication.
There is more to say but I think I have justified each of the stars I gave him.I have recommended him to others.HIRE HIM.

. Mr Russo is very detail-oriented. All our paperwork was done properly and there was never a problem. My wife got her greencard in 4 months.

I shopped around for an immigration attorney to handle my naturalization. I visited well established law offices such as Many & Gordon and The Jones Firm. I also consulted with independent lawyers, and one of them was Mr. Russo. What you need to keep in mind is that the big law offices are going to charge you a lot more money than independent lawyers because they have to pay overheads (secretaries, office lease, etc…), and not necessarily because they are more efficient. Big law offices also use scare tactics to get you to sign up (they have to convince you to pay $2,300) which I think is a dishonest practice. Mr. Russo is honest and will tell you what the gray areas in your application are without overplaying them, and will resolve them efficiently. He used to be an immigration examiner so he knows what they look for. He will prepare the N-400 form for you, neatly typed using a word processor, and create the whole file with cover letter and everything. In the end you will save at least $700 compared to what you would have paid in one of those fancy law offices: Mr. Russo works from home and has none of the overheads that the big competition has. I would recommend Mr. Russo to anyone looking for an immigration lawyer.
