On May 7th, 2017 I received a DUI that not only resulted in me facing some serious crimes but also cost me my career. I think they are very nice people and they are great at communication. I just have this feeling I would have had a better outcome without a lawyer or maybe a different lawyer?. Anyways, it was cool he got my dui charge down to a wet and wreckless except I had none of the benefits of the lower charge of a wet and wreckless. In fact I am doing the things I would have had to do if I just got the dui. I have a three month alcohol program which is what you do when you get a dui when you get a BAC under .15 (the dmv even sent me a paper letting me know) and after completing that 3 month program you can apply for your license back. However he made a deal with the court that if they give me a wet and wreckless instead of a dui I would agree to have a restricted license for five months, which is Longer than the DMV even said I needed to have it restricted for. Also on the paper that you get from Hendrick after your case, it states all the fines and jail time you could have faced but what he was able to get the charges down too. but my BAC was tested at .1 and .09 which when I talked to the people at the alcohol program as well as the cops it seems I wouldn’t have had it that bad as it seems on the paper. So before knowing all of that I was excited to hear when he told me I could get a restricted license after having it suspended for only 30 days right after the end of the trial. However I had no idea the restricted only lets you go to work and to the alcohol program. Useless to me because I don’t work but I go to school. So I paid $125 dollars or so for a restricted license to still take the bus and for five months instead of the three I could have had. He was able to get me in to work project .Yes doing work project reduces your fines but that is something I could have done w/o a lawyer and many of the people w/o lawyers did (I know we talked during the program). Anyways they were really nice people but I don’t really know what good I got out of it other than spending a lot of money.

So adding. My insurance went up. Which yes my fault obviously! But me turning in my SR-22 is what made them find out. This is what I was told I need to give to the dmv in order to get the restricted license that as I mentioned before had no benefit to me. So insurance went up because of sending info in for the restricted license, and $125 for a restricted license that doesn’t benefit me and yea. So that’s cool.

From the moment I was arrested boarding a plane to Vancouver at SFO, I was at a disadvantage. My rights, dignity and part of my self esteem/self-respect were taken from me when the customs and immigration agents handcuffed me and perp-walked me through the SF International Terminal. The unfolding drama would breathe new life into a decades old familial rift between my sibling and I. While sitting in a jail cell in Redwood City, I realised I would need proper representation. Having never needed a criminal defence attorney, I did some quick web research and took a chance. Mr. Crowell called within hours and he made me feel more at ease from that first phone call. The scene of the 'crime' was Placer County, the evidence was a few text messages - sent by me while intoxicated - to a former employee of the penal system - my beloved bro. The case would end up dragging on for almost 15 months before Mr. Crowell reached a deal on my behalf that was better than I could have hoped for: Two felonies (one a strike felony) reduced to a special misdemeanour. Punishment reduced from possible four years incarceration to 30 days inpatient rehab, a year of weekly domestic violence classes, community service, fines and 3 years supervised probation. As frustrated and helpless as I felt that morning boarding a plane for Canada, in the end it was Mr. Crowell and his accomplished team of lawyers and assistants who gave me back my freedom and a chance to rebuild my life.
