Attorney Maillet was the best decision I’ve made in reference to my case. I had to fire the attorney before him due to the lack of follow-up and high prices. Mr. Maillet made time to hear my case, gave me some great advice ( to-do list before court appearance), always PERSONALLY answered my calls, or called back very quickly if he did miss a call. He had great court presence and had great rapport with all of the officers and the state prosecutor. His price was very fair and affordable. Now I can move on with my life again. I was arrested for suspicion of DUI. After searching online I contacted Mr.Maillet and set up a consultation. He immediately got to work securing my driver’s license so that I could keep working while going through this process. The case kept getting rescheduled time and time again however Mr. Maillet always made himself available for questions and to keep me informed on my case and it’s status. He worked for over 2 and half years through all the different court dates and changes in DA’s in my case. He was fair and upfront about what I could expect and what was realistic. In March of 2018, I was visiting Savannah, GA and one of the weirdest moments of my life happened to me where my card declined at a bar and consequently I was thrown in jail overnight for not paying the tab! I had the funds but since I was from out of state, my card automatically declined until I verify any transactions. Needless to say my charge was "THEFT OF SEVICES"!! I never heard of such a charge, and I am far from being called a thief! I searched for a few lawyers and none of them were to my liking until I met Mr. Maillett. He was so down to earth and listened to everything I said and asked all the right questions to make me feel that he was the RIGHT lawyer for me. Of course he did not make any promises just like all lawyers say and do, but he assured me that this case could very well be dismissed, and I believed him. Well guess what? Not only was the charge dismissed as of 04-24-2018, the whole arrest incident is wiped out!! I had a complicated deal that I needed worked out with DA's office that involved interstate compact for a probation case as well as working out a deal for multiple misdemeanors Jarrett was able to get the desired product in this case. Because of his dilligent work I had gone back to Jarret to amend a sentence for this exact same case about a year later. Jarrett was able to get me off of probation 3 years early from a 5 year sentence! He did dilligent work and although it may have taken longer than was hoped I could not be more thrilled as Jarrett expected only a 10% chance of getting off yet I still got off. This guy is a joke just wants money every time you pay him a visit.Once he has been paid good luck if he shows up to one of your court hearings. I would have gotten a better deal with a public defender. Steer clear from this guy he will use your ignorance of the legal system and you fear of being convicted of a crime against you. He will do this by bleeding you pockets and not really caring what the outcome of your case will be. My advice for those who are in a legal bind is find out as much information about you case. I hired Mr. Maillet back in 2015. My case wasn't the easiest and I had never hired a lawyer before. I meet with multiple lawyers before I decided on him. He just had this sleaze ball persona about him (I though he would use that to sleaze me out of my case). Oh how I was wrong.
At our first meeting I signed a contract stating:
$3,500 for my services and additional $1,500 if we go to trial. I wrote and check and signed the contract(which he did NOT give me a copy of).
After about 6 months he told me he needed another $3,500 from me. I didn't understand why but I just wanted this case taken care of so I took all my savings and gave it to him. I have now paid him $7,000 for a multiple MISDEMEANORS case. About 3 months later I meet with him again. He asked me where my $3,500 payment was? THANK GOD I kept the receipt he wrote me, he was trying to tell me that I never paid him the last time. Luckily I kept it in my records. And then told me I would have to pay another $1,500 for a bench trial.
So in total Mr. Maillet wanted $8,500 for a case. When he asked me for the last bit of money I decided to take my business else where.
While talking with my new lawyer he informed me that Mr. Maillet over charged me BIG time and that I could report him to the BAR.
I tried to contact Mr. Maillet about a pratical refund, for 3 months I received no response. It wasn't until I threatened to report him to the bar that he gave me half my money back.
Please please please.... find another lawyer. This man just wants to steal your money.
Also he did not care about if my case won or not. He told me that I would have to plead guilty. (I won the case with my new lawyer) I would email him and if he did respond it wasn't until I would email him or call him multiple times in a row. Only times I saw him over the year of him working for me was when he wanted more money.
Trust me save your time and money and go else where!

Absolute worst experience with legal representation we've ever had. We payed $2500 to have this man represent us and it was a complete waste of time and money. We showed up to court 5 times for our DUI case. Each time we showed up we found out that we would not need to be there (mind you we live out of state) because either the trooper wasn't there or our lawyer didn't show up and we would have to call him from court to find out we didn't need to be there. He did not care about our case at all and when we became frustrated with the run around and confronted him he then asked for thousands more in order to finalize the case which was not at all what we had agreed upon in our original contract. Bottom line he took our money and failed to properly represent us and pawned us off on some other guy he claimed was another attorney we knew nothing about. What a joke and a disgrace to the legal system.

Resorted to Jarrett under unusual circumstances. He was only worried about getting paid as most money hungry attorneys are. I paid him and he was never timely about updating me with a plan. Once it came time to give me a plan, which was one day before my case, he could barely remember what my case was even about. He continued to relay options I was never interested in and I had made it clear I wasn't interested in multiple times. Once in court he pursued me to do something I'd said I wasn't very comfortable with but did anyway out of trust with my attorney. All in all he got me a better 'deal' than what was expected but I know that it wasn't the result I'd desired out of an attorney I had complete confidence in. My best advice is to be into something really deep if you want his service and you'd have a better chance of him actually caring.

DUI case-Took $2500 up front, rarely returned our calls. Each time we did speak, he forgot who we were and had to remind him not only of who we were but describe the case each time. Claimed he spoke to witnesses and when I spoke to them they stated he never contacted them. Had to handle it all myself.Was caught in several lies. Went to court and he said to plead guilty so I got the max. Took 5 min! Never said one word to the judge for my defense. Never did anything for my defense. Tried to work with him for 3 months and it was just awful! No defense and a waste of our money. I got exactly what I would have gotten if I represented myself. $2500 down the drain for nothing. Save your money.
