Fair and honest, friendly staff. Knowledgeable but remember you have to listen to a lawyer's advice and make decisions on that.

A 2.5 year family court journey (adventure, really) started with a recommendation to this law firm from a friend. I knew that my divorce was not going to be simple... And it wasn't.

Murry Kinard was very knowledgeable about family law and the whole process, listened to my concerns, made useful suggestions on how to proceed, and was animate that he was not out to spend my money or rack up my bill. He's firm, fought for me in court, is very knowledgeable of many of the family court judges in Lexington County and pressed me when I needed to be pressed. He was also very honest with me about what I could and couldn't expect based on my case.

This was all for the best interests of my kids... whom he fought for me to obtain and maintain primary custodial parent status. We just recently were able to settle and avoid a lengthy, stressful, and expensive trial. He has great relationships with guardians ad litem in the area and DSS lawyers. He will fight for you and your family.

The dedication to my case was on display as often when a hearing (and we had a few) approached, he would contact me after hours and once or twice on a weekend to consult or to communicate some news. With a family of his own and a growing business, I don't know how he did it all. I was grateful for all his efforts.

His office staff and legal assistants are also second to none. I commend Jenelle, Eva, Cathy and all the others for putting up with my phone calls and questions and overall badgering at times due to my impatience.

Divorce is rarely a pleasant experience. Murry and his office staff helped make it more pleasant. I was very happy with the outcome and won't hesitate recommending his services to friends who may be in the unfortunate position to need it.

The folks in this firm (from the legal assistants to the partners) were thorough, persistent and always willing to fight the good fight.
I genuinely believe Murry Kinard had my best interest (and my daughters) at heart, for if he hadn’t, he easily could have run my bill to double of what it ended.
I trusted him so much that half way through my divorce case I told him to use the same judgement he would use for his son if he were going through the same circumstances.

Extremely disappointed working with Ms. Fisher. I felt as if I was a bother to her when I had questions. It was an expensive mistake working with this law firm. I never felt like my case was ever important, when in fact every aspect of my life was riding on it. Yesterday was nothing short of an absolute pleasure to begin the process of developing a professional relationship by accepting the legal representation of Ms. Katharine Swinson. I was supremely impressed with the organization, productive brainstorming, and positive attitude that Ms. Swinson displayed to me within the first 5 minutes that I sat down in her office. I was relieved for the first time in the 18 hours since I received the subpoena notifying me that an attempt was in the process of being made to alienate me from my only child.
A sudden peace came over me the very moment that I began collaborating and respectfully debating with Ms. Swinson, we developed a logical plan of action to implement in effort to minimize the recourse our child would be the recipient of from an unknown judgement that was set to be determined in less than 24 hours. Ms. Swinson handled the emergency/expedited relief hearing that I challenged her with like a veteran pitcher would handle pitching Game 7 in the World Series.
Again, an expedited and complete surprise hearing to remove one of the two parenting roles our child has been blessed to experience in the five years since their birth. Take note that we had less than 1 full working day to prepare our presentation to defend and preserve the relationship all young children deserve to experience with each of their parents.
Katharine was as genuine to the core of her values as anyone in any professional role could’ve possibly been. Most importantly, and never to be forgotten, Katharine is a "child first" legal representative. I found my eyes swelling up with tears as she informed me to make budgeting plans to pay the Guardian ad Litem first, before I focus on fulfilling the payment of our financial agreement for her legal services. Legal services that hyper-focused on a young child to remain engaged with relationships from each parent.
For the sake of your CHILD, seek out the legal representation of Ms. Katharine Swinson to preserve and protect your parental rights. Katharine is an angel that simply does not wear any wings. Validation that selfless professionals in a cut throat profession DO STILL exist, and will place the most magnificent gift in your life as the priority in the legal matter.
Katharine WANTS what is in the best interest of the child, not her personal financial gain from accepting the challenges of a new family law case. The previous sentence within this paragraph that I've shared is a sentence that I lost hope in ever being able to honestly type prior to meeting with Ms. Swinson.
The “name game” when selecting your legal representation is simply that….a game. Do not play this game. Your legal rights to be involved in your child's life is certainly not a game.
STOP researching who to choose as your legal representation in a family law matter. Take a sigh of relief. You've finally found the best option available who does not play games when the legal matter involves a child.

I agree with the comment above- Good thing for women who often get shafted. I would take that as a compliment and a good indicator of how she pressing to get everything a woman deserves. She worked, and is working very hard fro me.
