Before I phoned, I had been looking for a law firm with a high rating and in going through the Google reviews, I laughed-off a one-star review, below, from someone who left a comment about "the person who answered the phone".

The funny thing is, I wasn't laughing after I had a very similar experience.

A woman who answered the phone (or intake line) when I first phoned was monumentally unprofessional and mostly, just plain rude. She seemed to be erroneously "proud" of the way she barely allows a person to get a word out before she interjects, interrupts - repeatedly - or talks over you at every turn in a kind of bored but superior and 'let's-get-this-over-with' attitude. (I wondered if they could really be THAT busy to where intake becomes rush, rush, rush and robotic)? After a few minutes I had enough, and decided to look elsewhere. I figured that if THIS was the best they had to offer as "first contact", then I presumed the partners or attorneys are/were not very knowledgeable about who they hire, so how could they have an inkling about how they handle cases; or, that they just didn't care, which was worse.

Within my continued search for another firm, I came across this one yet again, and upon further reading the reviews, and going by the overall rating, I decided to call back and planned to ask if there was anyone else to speak to as I was fully expecting the same woman to answer. LUCKILY, another lady, "Edith" answered. Edith was very professional, well-versed and did not come across as an uncaring, rushed robot. (Let me interject that I was speaking normally and not going into any detail at any point, so the issue was not on my end on the first call). In any case, I left my contact information with Edith and was glad I had phoned back.

The following Monday I received a call from "Dee" ... who, to my amazement, was much like the original lady who I had spoken to, and who did not seem to bother listening to ANYTHING I said. She, literally, kept talking over me. I will admit that I tried to provide her with more details than I had the Intake persons, but information anyone would need, such as the case type, the date originally filed, etc. After about four minutes of this mostly one-sided (her-sided) conversation, I informed Dee that I was not interested in their services, at which point she told me they were not taking any cases of the type I had (SSI) "anyway". Lol. Really? Could you not have listened to what I tried to say at the beginning when I was telling you what kind of case it was, and told me then, rather than playing "I can talk over you and more than you", DEE???

I hung up. In no universe anywhere, does one need to beg anyone to take their business. :)

As it happens, it all turned out wonderfully in the end without this law firm. We had Judge Willy, who is very fair and fast, and the case was approved.

Mr. Whitehead, thank you for your note, but far be it for me to try and provide more detail of my experience than what I have already provided. I would suggest however, that if your concern is genuine, that you take a few minutes out of every week (possibly, five-ten minutes?) to call in as a client.

I would recommend this firm to anyone. Madison the lawyer that assisted me at my hearing was reassuring professional and made a nervous situation calming and relaxing. I can not say enough good things about her. I'm very glad she was with me thru this. The firm did everything to make it as easy for me as possible. This law firm took nearly 3 weeks to get back to me my case is clear and cut, PTSD, Manic bi polar depressive, plus an Iraq war veteran with multiple body part issues, not to mention I got fired from my last job in 2015 for going to the VA to seek help I have not been able to work since then, what more do you need? But everyone is for the veteran right, when clearly the VA has said this is what is wrong with you, oh and on top of that let's make you 100%. I'm a real vet with real issues

Did Absolutely Nothing!! Should be disbarred for false advertising. Incompetent, unable to communicate, and lazy. Don’t waste your time. They only want easy cases where they are not required to do anything. Avoid at All Costs!

This firm is not very competent. I sent an email to Marc Whitehead, which I doubt he will read. The attorney Anthony Vessel seems like he doesn't care and neither does the rest of the "team". Not satisfied at all! My wife who is the client, is not the type to complain so I will do it for her. Simply put, no follow up from anyone, no communication, inept, lack of concern, lack of sound advice, not interested in what is best for the client. They get paid, and totally forget about you. My wife was not awarded benefits, awarded back benefits only. Whitehead's firm was paid in March and over 60 days later we are still waiting on the back benefits. Do they care? Nope! Mr. Whitehead, I hope you read the email I sent you but I doubt you will. And no we do not want to speak with a customer service person who won't know anything about the case, and will have no idea why we are so dissatisfied. Again this firm is totally and utterly incompetent.

Will go above and beyond to make sure they can get you what you truly deserve when working your case. They are/were awesome!

With countless numbers of people losing so much as the insurance companies bottom lines grow into the billions.... My husband and I couldn't be happier with the commitment and expertise of Marc Whitehead and his staff. If you've been denied your disability, don't wait... call them. The insurance companies say you have to appeal yourself without representation, NOT TRUE. Call this office and find our for yourself. We wouldn't have won our administrative appeal if it wasn't for Marc's office. We are still appealing the WOP and am quite confident this firm was the right choice.

I have not been accepted as a client yet but based on my initial interaction I really hope I am! I was referred to this law firm by Simmons and Fletcher and the first person I spoke with quickly took my information. Not even an hour later I received a call from Dee but missed her call. When I called back I spoke to a young lady who kindly and quickly too my information. They are very professional and don't waste any time.

My wife used this firm and we live in Oklahoma. We should have known better, but at the time there were few attorneys in Oklahoma offering the "we don't get paid until you get paid" pitch. What can we say, we are by far disappointed in the quality of service and lack of professionalism displayed. Where to even start? No response from the "team" even by email, on several occasions I emailed AND called and still little to no information regarding my case. She finally received a court date for appeal, and you would think that I would hear from SOMEONE, ANYONE, NOPE. The day before my court date, I believe someone called to say someone from Oklahoma would be represent with her in court. She was finally awarded back disability benefits, but because on the advice of the attorney who showed up, we only filed for "closed period benefits" so she did not get full benefits. Her health had deteriorated yet again, and had the associate assigned to the case been in contact or responded to our questions via email, he would have known this. Instead now we have to file an appeal of the appeal and hope that she is awarded full benefits. When we contacted the office to discuss possible options the associate's response was "well if you want to file an appeal or start A WHOLE NEW CASE" and get another attorney...What the heck? So, there is no discussion about her current health and why she needs to file an appeal, no discussion of a game plan, nothing just simply implied that "we getting paid, after this you're on your own". To say the least WE definitely would NOT refer this firm to anyone needing assistance. I contacted a firm closer to us and the attorney basically said since we ALREADY HAVE counsel who is getting paid for this case, no other attorney will likely touch it. So now we are on our own to file the appeal and try to get disability since she is now permanently disabled based on the same condition that started the entire case in the first place. Thanks for NOTHING!

The worst lawyer i have ever seen told me the case was fine then leaves me high and dry two weeks before ssi hearing so now i have to rush to find one and redo all of the paper work over on another note jim adler has took the case with any problems be smart do not use this firm and go with jim adler the texas hammer

If you are a Disabled Veteran this place is the real deal. They far exceed any expectations for honesty and hard work. They will go out of their way to provide service to veteran beyond what I would ever dream or hope for. They are not out to take advantage of you, only help. Give them a call. My case was switched around to different attorneys and no notice given to me. I never could get in touch with my attorney always busy or in a meeting . The staff is thoroughly knowledgeable about disability claims. I was very nervous but the staff always put my mind at ease.

ANY paperwork, letters, requests etc from Social Security should all be filtered through your paralegal before you take any action on your own. NOTHING is too small to filter though your paralegal with regard to Social Security requests and paperwork!!

The very best information I received was from the attorney Mr. Vessel. Please make sure to write down all of your questions for Mr. Vessel in advance of the teleconference and stick to the topic. Mr. Keal was very helpful and knew when to send me to Mr. Vessel for specialized guidance that was outside his expertise.

Be sure to follow the instructions of the attorney that represents you if your case goes before a judge as my case did. Follow the attorney's instructions to the letter and you should have a positive outcome in your case.

I hired Marc Whitehead & Associates about a year and a half ago. They were very professional, and courteous. Whenever I had any questions or concerns they were ready to take my calls and answer my questions. When my day in court came the attorney was there on time and got me through the court proceedings and explained the whole process. I received a lump sum payment about 90 days later. Just started with Marc Whitehead and Associates as a VA disability client. I must say ask for Sarah White for VA intake she is professional and very kind. Best customer service one can ask for she's the best.

I got their number from online because they were rated the highest. The young lady I spoke with was nice, but unfortunately wasn't able to assist me. The issue I had was that my VA denial didn't come until months after they made a decision. The VA gives you one year to appeal, and they completed my case in November of last year, but notified me in February of this year. The VA informed me, even though they completed my case in November, my year to appeal didn't actually start until February of this year. Which would make me, still within appeal range. I told the young lady at the law office that, but she insisted that the narrative of why I was denied has to have the February date. So I called the VA back, and again they assured me November is simply the date that they finished the case, and that my time doesn't start until I am notified. The letter the VA sent the law office says the February letter is connected to the November decision, but she insisted she needed a narrative letter with the February date. So I called the VA again, and asked if they could send an updated narrative letter with a February date, and they said they couldn't change the date, but I was in fact still in appeal range. The young lady at the firm suggested I start a whole new claim, simply to get a denial letter with a more current date. That seems excessive and unnecessary, especially since I'm still within the year, and the letter sent reflects that. To do that, would mean I have to wait another year to get another denial letter that states what I already have, plus however long it would take for the firm to work my case. The agent at the VA also told me, that the year to appeal doesn't really matter anymore, and you can now appeal outside of that year. So starting a new claim is really unnecessary. This seems like a nice firm, and I would have loved if they could've help. That's just my experience, and I, in no way mean to speak ill of this firm.

If you want your day to start off frustrating call these ppl. While the receptionist is very polite and friendly, the intake specialists (I’m not sure who I talked to) was so rude. She put me down, insulted me and when I stood up for myself she said, “I’m sorry we don’t want to deal with people like you.” And then hung the phone up in my face. Talk about professional. So I called back to speak to the intake specialist’s boss and of course she didn’t answer. So I left a voicemail. Think she called back? Nope. So now I’m very stressed out after waiting hours for their “busy” intake specialists to call back to get insulted. In other words, fine someone else to help you.

I went to three different attorneys. None would take my case citing it would take too much to collect my 18 years of data, gather all my medical history and put all the time in unless I paid a fee up front.
