It was said in another review, but it's true. I've gone to 2 Saturday morn legal clinics, was #35 or so in line so waited 5 hours to talk with a lawyer there. I thought that lawyer was screening to see if your case was actually a case or not. That lawyer faxed all the forms and info. to headquarters of HVLA and I was led to believe a lawyer would be representing me by the action of faxing the forms and info. If your case is URGENT like medical guardianship of a sick person for example then go a different direction as the process will take months and then you're just told they're not going to do the legal work!!!

They're services are commendable, but there's no free parking.

Great place over all period, (the V.A Hospital) but it's a great set up for Vets and friends to talk to Attorneys to get vital information....for FREE and they might even take your case!

I love these people, they are quick in answering questions. Bless for taking time out to help veterans who need help with laws they can't understand. But get you a lawyer as soon as possible.

Barbra cohran and staff are highly rude. My fiance (hispanic) went in for them to look over the paperwork. Was not greeted professionally and was pushed out quickly. The receptionist Martinez was giving free legal advise to another white female. Also mrs. Cohran didnt look over the paper work AND TOLD my fiance whom has a speech problem he needs to be able to understand the paperwork before he goes in there. This place is a joke. Why have lawyers who volunteer when they just push you out. I'm filling a complaint. Made one phone call as soon as we walked out and am waiting for a call back. Also making a report to the texas bar

Not any help at all. They advertise their free services but nothing is free. They actually only help the very economically poor. Will not return your email once they write you off.

My first attempt was July 27 but after await around 3 hours they can’t receive no one more, I tried newly Aug 2 with apparently better lucky a kind lawyer taken notes and scanned all documentation pertinent to ask a State Guardianship of my child, 12 days later I received an e-mail where I was approved to services I was so happy because when someone is looking for their services is because are really needed, but I realized they wrote “ Adult Guardianship Case” I wrote them back let them know that we are talking of a minor not an adult, then they DENIED the case,! I was truly bewildered I mean They never gave me a real reason to change their mind, honestly is sad how they don’t honor they word.I’m very disappointed.

I do not recommend this office for any services. I contacted them twice via U.S. Mail seeking assistance for my two children and myself with a variety of legal concerns. My wife died in 2017 and we have had a series of legal issues concerning housing, our mortgage company, realtors, my employer, and the local government. No one has wanted to provide us any assistance despite being victims and having a special needs child. They sent my letter back the first time, unopened. The second time they did not respond with a personal or typed response. They merely sent me a list of other agencies to seek help with without any explanation or declination letter. I have to describe this as a total lack of service because that is what we received - almost nothing. I sent them a handwritten, but legible letter on three notepad sheets. No response despite providing contact information. What are you there for if you are not going to even bother sending a rejection or an explanation?

I gave then one star just so I can post this rating. This place sucks. Or my experience with them wasn't good at all. I was needing help (and still do) pretty bad in a timely manner. I called them, told them my situation. Lady told she'd have someone call me back. Of coarse they never did. They left the sinking ship with me still on board.

Very good in what they know. I would use them again if possible. Thanks
