We recently purchased a home in Conway South Carolina. We used the von Herrmann law firm to handle the closing by mail since we were in CT at the time. The paralegal Julia was absolutely astonishing. Whenever I had a question she was always available and answered them immediately. Having worked for a large CT law firm in my younger working life I know the stress and volume of work the paralegals do in a law firm. Julia was without question the most knowledgeable, polite, pleasant person I ever had the pleasure of working with. She is a tremendous asset to the firm and I would highly recommend their firm.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Myself with a car accident and my husband for a different case, both had a wonderful experience with Bert and also with Wendy. They were very helpful and informative the whole way through and always answered all my questions in a way I felt comfortable with and in a timely manner even though the other party dragged their feet for a very long time! Thank you guys!!

I find it extremely interesting that over the last 3 years, a total of 10 reviews(1 of those 5 star reviews coming directly from the firm 3 years ago) have been posted. 4 of those 5 star reviews were posted back to back within 2 hours of my husband posting(from my account) his honest opinion of our bad experience with the firm and another 5 star review coming in 4 hours after his. In my opinion, it appears that these reviews are an attempt to sandbag or skew their true rating. Unfortunately, businesses unethically do this often. If I hadn’t personally explained in length the details of our case, regarding the well-being of a child, prior to setting the appointment AND reiterated the details within the first few minutes of meeting with Ms. Von Herrmann, we’d understand that it was our fault for not disclosing enough information from the beginning. However, I DID disclose SEVERAL times that the custodial parent in question resides in a different county prior to setting the appointment(specifically to make sure that we could seek council within Horry County regardless of the custodial parents current residential county). The person that I spoke with told me she was not a receptionist but an attorney at the firm. Therefore, given the information provided to her, should have been knowledgeable enough to know that setting an appointment with them would be a waste of our time and money. Again, this information was also disclosed to Ms. Von Herrmann within the first few minutes of our appointment, as well, yet she let us speak for 30 minutes(after acknowledging herself the custodial parents residential county) and gladly kept our hard earned $250 just to tell us that we’d need to seek council in or closer to the county where the current custodial parent resides. She justified the time and cost by saying she gave us advice to seek counseling for the child...even though we were given the same advice several hours prior from A Father’s Place and had already planned to set that up. Quiet frankly, A Father’s Place gave us more beneficial advice at no cost over the phone than we received from this firm. We walked away from this firm with nothing but lost wages from taking time off of work, condolences and a $250 sticky note of a googled phone number to seek council elsewhere. This time and money could have easily been put towards pursuing our case through the appropriate county if this firm would have chosen the ethical route (either during the initial phone call or within minutes of our meeting) over making a quick $250 off of heartbroken, concerned, hardworking, loving parents. It is our opinion that this firm selfishly and wrecklessly took advantage of us and to see them recruiting friends to offset the negative, yet honest review, is confirmation that our initial opinion was indeed correct. I am not saying this firm isn’t highly capable of fighting and winning for their clients. I’m just warning others to approach with caution so they can hopefully avoid being taken advantage of the way we were.

The Von Herrmann law firm is the most professional firm I have ever dealt with. Everyone in the office is very easy to deal with and cares about you as a client.

Took our money, knowing that she couldn’t assist us. Then explained why and told us to seek council in a different county. They very easily could’ve done that over the phone at first interaction, but chose money over what’s right for the family. Family court attorney only looking for money isn’t an attorney at all, just a typical money hungry S.C. attorney taking money a waste of time “consultation”, that’s needed for the child.

Chose this law firm to close my real estate transaction in South Carolina...found that even though I paid a premium for their service, mostly I was dissatisfied with the paralegal (Julia) seemed incompetent mostly, and when I had a few concerns, she either didn't have the answers, or wouldn't return phone calls.
Worst of all, she got upset and angry, had an attitude when I "called" her out on very un business like etiquette, about returning phone calls within 24 hrs, which is the standard. I expected way better service being the PAYING client.. closing was delayed at least 3 times, spanning over 3 weeks. When I inquired as to why, she couldnt give me a straight answer. My hard earned money at stake deserved answers . In my opinion, she, and the firm for that matter, failed to deliver.
I wouldn't recommend this attorney , as Myrtle Beach has many others to choose from for real estate transactions.
