Knowledgable and kind attorney for entertainers!

My mother was the wife of Solomon Burke who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
My parents had seven children together after her death my father’s bigamist wife had been stealing my mother’s royalties for more than a decade. The California superior court ordered that the “petitioners had no authority to Marshall assets belonging to my mother Dolores BURKE (only) the authority to Marshall assets belong to my father Solomon Burke. But the petitioners ignored the order and did whatever they wanted to do. They blatantly ignore me and my Attorney John Seay declining to assist us with the order that the judge promised. I couldn’t get the California courts to make the petitioners attorney do what was right because of his relationship with California courts. That didn’t stop John Sheay he looked over the court transcripts and my documentation and began working on the case get what rightfully belonged to my mother. John contact at Warner Chappell music keeping me up dated with every step he took. In a matter of months things were approved. Attorney Seay did all that he could do then told me what I needed to do to move forward. I am truly grateful for his candor and due diligence. John is honest, reliable he will do all he can and what he can’t do he will try to point you in the right direction.
Attorney Seay was respectful he made me feel like a friend not just a client if you are looking for an attorney who knows his stuff and won’t just take your money but has excellent ethics, honest and will do his due diligence then John’s your man. This is more of a character review. In my experience in dealing with Mr. Seay he reneged on a verbal agreement in regards to a purchase I was to make from him. We had an agreed upon price and pick up time. Roughly an hour an a half before I was to pick up he let me know that he was offered $25 more, his choice. I offered to match/beat dollar amount. He in turn simply stopped responding. So be careful with this guy, $25 can buy out any agreements you may have with him. Poor character, but since I know now he’s a lawyer it makes sense.

As an independent filmmaker, The John Seay Firm is genuine and meets the needs of an artist and their business. Great with explaining, understanding, and finding the best way to move forward.
